3 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS To insure the best experience from the product, pease read a instructions carefuy before using the device. Save this manua for further reference. Unpack the equipment carefuy and save the origina box and packing materia for possibe future shipment Foow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, eectrica shock and injury to persons. Do not dismante the housing or modify the modue. It may resut in eectrica shock or burns. Using suppies or parts not meeting the products specifications may cause damage, deterioration or mafunction. Refer a servicing to quaified service personne. To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the unit to rain, moisture or insta this product near water. Do not put any heavy items on the extension cabe in case of damage. Do not remove the housing of the device as opening or removing housing may expose you to dangerous votage or other hazards. Insta the device in a pace with proper ventiation to avoid damage caused by overheat. Keep the modue away from iquids. Spiage into the housing may resut in fire, eectrica shock, or equipment damage. If an object or iquid fas or spis on to the housing, unpug the modue immediatey. Do not use iquid or aeroso ceaners to cean this unit. Aways unpug the power to the device before ceaning. 4 1. Introduction TL-DA18-HD2 is a 1x8 HDMI spitter with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compiance, and reiaby distributes one HDMI source signa to 8 HDMI dispays. It supports HDMI 2.0 specification features incuding data rates up to 18Gbps 4K@60Hz video, and automatic HDCP 2.2 compatibiity. It aso provides EDID management which provides mutipe EDID options for various resoutions output, and HDCP management which authenticates HDCP encryption between a devices, ensuring the HDMI source reiaby outputs correct content for dispay. 7 3. Appearance EDID (Extended Dispay Identification Data) is data generated from each dispay in the system to communicate the capabiities of the device. The spitter features an EDID copy mode that can be used when the EDID does not meet the instaation requirements. The EDID mode has severa options avaiabe to encourage device communication. Note: Repower the device to make the change effective. 8 4. System Connection The figure beow iustrates a typica connection that can be utiized with TL-DA18-HD2: Step1. Connect an HDMI source (e.g. a Bu-ray DVD) to INPUT port of TL-DA18-HD2; Step2. Connect HDMI dispays (e.g. a LCD TV) to OUTPUT ports of TL-DA18-HD2; Step3. Pug DC 12V 1.5A power adapter into the power port of TL- DA18-HD2. & 1) System shoud be instaed in a cean environment with proper temperature and humidity. 2) A of the power switches, pugs, sockets and power cords shoud be insuated. 3) A devices shoud be connected before power on. 7
