4 1 Upgrading your Computer In this section, you wi find: Instructions on how to repace a hardware component
5 1 Upgrading your computer UPGRADING YOUR COMPUTER Instaation precautions Before you insta any computer component, we recommend that you read the foowing sections. These sections contain important ESD precautions aong with pre-instaation and post-instaation instructions. ESD precautions Eectrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage your processor, disk drives, expansion boards, and other components. Aways observe the foowing precautions before you insta a computer component: 1. Do not remove a component from its protective packaging unti you are ready to insta it. 2. Wear a wrist grounding strap and attach it to a meta part of the computer before handing components. If a wrist strap is not avaiabe, maintain contact with the computer throughout any procedure requiring ESD protection. Required toos In performing the component repacement process, you wi need the foowing toos: Phiips screwdriver Hex screwdriver Fat screwdriver Scissors Note The screws for the different components vary in size. During the disassemby process, group the screws with their corresponding components to avoid mismatches when putting back the components.
6 6-1 Upgrading your computer Pre-instaation instructions Aways observe the foowing before you insta any component: 1. Make sure that the ODD and card reader sot is empty. 2. Turn off the power to the computer and a peripheras. 3. Unpug the power cord from the computer. 4. Unpug the network cabe and a connected periphera devices from the computer. 5. Pace the computer on a fat, steady surface. 6. Open your computer according to the instructions on Removing the rear system cover on page 7 and Removing the eft side system cover on page See the foowing sections for specific instructions on the component you wish to insta. Warning Not turning off the computer propery before you start instaing the components may cause serious damage. Do not attempt the procedures described in the foowing sections uness you are a quaified service technician. Post-instaation instructions Observe the foowing after instaing a computer component: 1. See to it that the components are instaed according to the stepby- step instructions in their respective sections. 2. Repace any expansion boards or peripheras that you removed earier. 3. Repace the system covers. See Instaing the eft side system cover on page 10 and Instaing the rear system cover on page Connect the necessary cabes. 5. Turn on your computer.
7 1 Upgrading your computer - 7 Removing the eft side system cover 1. Before you proceed, make sure that you have turned off your computer and a peripheras connected to it. Read the Preinstaation instructions on page Remove the two screws that secure the system cover to the computer. 3. Side the cover toward the back of the computer and pu away from the side of the computer. 4. Set the cover aside for re-instaation ater.
8 8-1 Upgrading your computer Instaing the eft side system cover 1. Aign the cover to the sides of the computer and side the cover toward the front of the computer. 2. Secure the cover with two screws. 3. Observe the Post-instaation instructions on page 6.
9 1 Upgrading your computer - 9 Removing the Right side system cover 1. Before you proceed, make sure that you have turned off your computer and a peripheras connected to it. Read the Preinstaation instructions on page Remove the two screws that secure the system cover to the computer. 3. Side the cover toward the back of the computer and pu away from the side of the computer. 4. Set the cover aside for re-instaation ater.
10 10-1 Upgrading your computer Instaing the Right side system cover 1. Aign the cover to the sides of the computer and side the cover toward the front of the computer. 2. Secure the cover with two screws. 3. Observe the Post-instaation instructions on page 6.
11 1 Upgrading your computer - 21 Hard drives The computer supports instaation of one 3.5-inch SATA hard drives in the interna HDD cage. Removing the 3.5-inch hard drives 1. Perform Pre-instaation instructions on page Disconnect the power and data cabes from the hard drives.
12 20-1 Upgrading your computer 3. Remove the one screws that secure the hard drives to the bracket 4. Remove the hard drives from the bracket.
13 1 Upgrading your computer - 21 Instaing the 3.5-inch hard drives 1. Remove the new hard drive from their packaging. 2. Insert the new hard drive into the bracket. 3. Secure the new hard drive with one screws.

15 1 Upgrading your computer - 15 Memory The computer has four DDR4 U-DIMM sots that support up to 64 GB maximum system memory. DIMM1 DIMM3 DIMM2 DIMM4 Memory configuration guideines To ensure data integrity, use ony Acer-approved DDR MHz type memory modues. Memory modues must be instaed starting with DIMM3 sot. Aways hande memory modues by its edges. When instaing memory modues, popuate the DIMM sots according to the tabe beow. 16 16-1 Upgrading your computer Removing a memory modue 1. Perform Pre-instaation instructions on page Disconnect the therma fan cabe from the mainboard. 3. Use a ong screw driver to oosen the four captive screws securing the therma modue to the mainboard.
17 1 Upgrading your computer Remove the therma modue from the chassis. 5. Press outward the hoding cips on both sides of the DIMM sot outward to reease the memory modue (1). 6. Genty pu the memory modue upward to remove it from the DIMM sot (2) Repeat steps 5~6 to remove the other memory modues.
18 18-1 Upgrading your computer Instaing a memory modue Note DIMM sots on the mainboard must be instaed ony in certain configurations. Numbers next to DIMM sots correspond to instaation sequence. Be sure to insta the memory modue in DIMM1 sot foowed by DIMM2 sot. 1. Seect an empty DIMM sot. 2. Remove the new memory modue from its packaging, handing it by the edges. 3. Aign then insert the memory modue into the DIMM sot (1). 4. Insert the memory to the sot unti the retaining cips snap inward (2). The modue is keyed so it can ony be inserted in one direction. If the modue does not fit, make sure that the notch in the modue ines up with the tab in the memory sot Repeat steps 1~4 to insta the other memory modues.
19 1 Upgrading your computer Pace the therma modue into the chassis. 7. Use a ong screw driver to tighten the four captive screws and secure the therma modue to the mainboard.
20 30-1 Upgrading your computer 8. Connect the therma fan cabe to the mainboard. 9. Observe the Post-instaation instructions on page 6.
21 32-1 Upgrading your computer Graphic board The computer contains one or two graphic boards instaed in the PCIe x16 sot. Removing the graphic board 1. Perform Pre-instaation instructions on page Disconnect the power cabes from the graphic boards. 3. Disconnect the bridge from the graphic boards.
22 1 Upgrading your computer Remove the screws that secure the graphic board to the chassis.
23 34-1 Upgrading your computer 5. Reease the atch that secures the graphic board to the mainboard. 6. Detach the graphic board from the PCIe x16 sot.
24 Instaing the graphic board 1 Upgrading your computer Remove the new graphic board from its packaging. 2. Insert the graphic board into the PCIe x16 sot and press it down unti it atches into pace. 3. Secure the graphic board with one screw.
25 36-1 Upgrading your computer 4. Connect the bridge from the graphic board. 5. Connect the power cabes to the graphic board. 6. Observe the Post-instaation instructions on page 6
26 1 Upgrading your computer - 37 M.2 SSD modue The computer contains one M.2 SSD modue instaed in the M.2 PCIe sot. Removing the SSD modue 1. Perform Pre-instaation instructions on page Remove the graphic board. See Removing the graphic board on page Remove the screw that secures the M.2 SSD modue to the mainboard. 4. Detach the M.2 SSD modue from the mainboard.
27 38-1 Upgrading your computer Instaing the M.2 SSD modue 1. Remove the new M.2 SSD modue from its packaging. 2. Insert the M.2 SSD modue into its sot in the mainboard. 3. Secure the M.2 SSD modue with one screw. 4. Repace the graphic board. See Instaing the graphic board on page Observe the Post-instaation instructions on page 6.

29 2 PredatorSense PREDATORSENSE PredatorSense (DT) is an Acer proprietary utiity to enhance the user experience of Gaming products on Microsoft Windows 10. The centra idea of this utiity is to provide a user interface to easiy contro fan speed, RGB chassis and aso dispay system information. PredatorSense features System information dashboard Fan speed contro Lighting contro Overcocking Monitoring Advanced settings Live update To set up the PredatorSense appication (Windows 10): 1. From the Start menu, seect A apps. 2. Seect Acer. 3. Seect PredatorSense. Aternativey, you can doube-cick the PredatorSense desktop shortcut to run the appication.
30 42-2 PredatorSense Category Home Lighting Overcocking Fan contro Description Provide overview of a features with quick adjustment CPU/GPU/System heath information Fan speed contro (Auto, Gaming and Sience) Lighting profie CPU overocking (Norma, Faster and Turbo) Provide contro and adjustment for the LEDs on Front Face, Left Side Face and Motherboard. On/Off Coor: 9 basic coors (ast one is rainbow coor), 9 recent coors which user creates the oor via More Coor(paette) button). Lighting Effects: None, Breathing, (Wave, Music, CPU temp of Front face) Speed: Support Wave, CPU temp (Of Front face) Provide CPU overcocking in 3 eves, Norma, Faster and Turbo eve. And show the CPU oading, frequency, Max frequency. The physica Turbo button wi ight on when OC eve is Faster eve of Turbo eve. Press physica Turbo button to switch OC eve in Norma eve (ight off) or Turbo eve (ight on). When resume from S3/S4/S5, PredatorSense wi sync the OC eve from physica Turbo button. Provide Fan speed contro in Auto, Gaming and Custom mode for 3 fans incuding CPU fan, Front fan and Back fan. And show the fan speed for 3 fans. On the Custom fan speed, user can adjust the fan speed in percentage. Custom fan speed ony can contro by 60 ~ 100% percentage.
