5 1 Genera Information and Warnings 1.1 About this Manua This manua is divided into chapters by the chapter number and the arge text at the top of a page. Subsections are abeed as shown by the 1 and 1.1 headings shown above. The names of the chapter and the next subsection eve appear at the top of aternating pages of the manua to remind you of where you are in the manua. The manua name and page numbers appear at the bottom of the pages Text Conventions Key names are shown in bod and refect the case of the key being described. 6 1.2 Safe Handing of Equipment with Batteries CAUTION: Danger of exposion if battery is incorrecty repaced. Repace ony with the same or equivaent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer s instructions. Mettre au rebut es batteries usagées conformément aux instructions du fabricant. 1.3 Safety Guide For the best performance and precise measurement Do NOT overoad the scae. This wi damage the oadce and void the warranty. Do NOT eave a oad on the scae when not in use. This wi decrease the scae's accuracy and shorten the oadce ife. Inspect the shacke and hook before using. Check cips, pins and screws reguary. Check the battery frequenty. When the scae dispay fashes, charge the battery with its dedicated charger. Rotate the oad rather than the scae if binding occurs. DO NOT use the scae during thunder storms Hang scae whie in storage in dry and we-ventiated room. Do NOT pace the scae directy on the ground. Do NOT attempt to repair the scae yoursef. Contact your oca representative. 1.4 Routine Maintenance IMPORTANT: This equipment must be routiney checked for proper operation and caibration. 7 1.5 Training Do not attempt to operate or compete any procedure on a machine uness you have received the appropriate training. To avoid the risk of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury), pace the machine on a surface which is ergonomicay satisfactory to the user. Take frequent breaks during proonged usage. 1.6 Sharp Objects Do not use sharp objects such as screwdrivers or ong fingernais to operate the keys. 1.7 FCC and EMC Decarations of Compiance This is a Cass B device. 14 3 Operation 3.1 Power On/Off 1. Press for 1 second to power-on scae. Scae performs initiaization and power-on test, ***** shows twice. Next the dispay shows the capacity, battery ife percentage, weight detection, and then auto zero. NOTE: For information about Auto-Zero, refer to Scae Configuration in Technica Manua. 2. Press or for 1 second to power-off scae. Battery ife percentage bat90 is dispayed, off message off is dispayed, and then the power turns off. 3.2 Zero Press or to zero. The ZERO ight wi turn on. If oad is in motion, tared, or out of Manua-Zero Range, err is dispayed. NOTE: For information about Manua-Zero Range, refer to Scae Configuration in Technica Manua. 3.3 Tare In/Out 1. In gross mode, press or to tare in. TARE ight wi turn on. If oad is in motion, negative vaue, or out of Tare Range; err is dispayed. NOTE: Tare wi reduce the apparent overoad range of scae. For exampe, if a 5000*2kg scae has a 1000kg container as its tare, the scae wi overoad at a new weight of 4018kg ( additiona 9 divisions). 14 BCS Digita Crane Scae User Instructions

15 2. In net mode, press or to tare out. TARE ight wi turn off. 3.4 Lock / Unock 1. Press or to ock screen. HOLD ight wi turn on. 2. Press or to unock screen. HOLD ight wi turn off. 3.5 Accumuate Press to accumuate current weight. acc is dispayed, indicating weight is accumuated. Scae uses dispayed weight, so gross or net weight is added into the same accumuator. If oad is in motion, or negative, or does not return to zero before, err is dispayed. 3.6 View 1. Press to enter View mode. Dispay fashes accumuated weight. 2. Press or to view high 5-digit or ow 5-digit. 3. Press or to exit View mode. 3.7 Deete Last Weight Press to deete ast accumuated weight. de is dispayed, indicating ast accumuated weight is deeted. The Deete function wi ony deete the ast weight. 16 3.8 Cear A Weight Press first and then press to cear a accumuated weight. cr is dispayed, indicating a weight is ceared. 3.9 Unit Switching Press to switch unit in between kg, b, and User Unit. When unit is kg, kg LED ight on. When unit is b, b LED ight on. When unit is User Unit, kg and b a ights are off. 17 4 User Menu 4.1 Access User Setup Menu Press first and then press or to enter User Setup menu. Setup is dispayed. 4.2 Parameters Auto-Off Timing 1. Press or to enter Auto-Off Timing. off?? is dispayed. 2. Press or and to change timing vaue. Auto-Off Timing can be set to: 0(disabed), 5(5min), 10(10min), 15(15min), 30(30min), 60(60min). It is disabed by defaut. NOTE: Auto-Off function maximizes scae's battery ife. Auto-Off starts countdown timer when there's no action or oad is stabe. Any key pressing or motion in oad restarts countdown timer Dispay Brightness 1. Press or to enter Dispay Brightness. br? is dispayed. 2. Press or and to change brightness vaue. Dispay Brightness can be set to:1(dim), 2(norma), 3(bright). NOTE: Dim LED brightness saves battery power dramaticay. BCS Digita Crane Scae User Instructions 17

18 4.2.3 Ide Mode Timing 1. Press or to enter Ide Mode Timing. id?? is dispayed. 2. Press or and to change timing vaue. Ide Mode Timing can be set to: 0(disabed), 5(5sec), 10(10sec), 15(15sec), 30(30sec), 60 (60sec). It is 30sec by defaut. To maximize battery ife, scae automaticay enters Ide Mode, when there's no action or the oad is stabe. In Ide Mode, scae works in owpower consumption status. 22 6 Maintenance and Troubeshooting 6.1 Battery Maintenance To maximize battery ife, pease note the foowing battery maintenance guide. This scae is powered by a 6V4.0Ah rechargeabe ead-acid battery. The battery is permanenty fixed inside battery housing. Depending on LED brightness and ide mode settings, the battery works from 60 hours to 200 hours. In order to conserve battery ife, enabe Auto-Off and Ide Mode, dim LED brightness. Charging time for a competey discharged battery is approximatey 12 hours. To obtain maximum service ife, battery shoud be stored between -20 (-4 F) and +50 (122 F). Stored batteries shoud be recharged every three months. Whie charging, the red LED indicates charging in progress, whie the green LED indicates fuy charged. 6.2 Troubeshooting Refer to the tabe beow for possibe symptoms and soutions. If probems sti exist, pease contact your oca representative.
