8 2.1.1 Preparation - Requirements Samsung Printer or Copier / SPDS support models - Latest models launched after Oct Android and ios based Smart Devices (3G/LTE or Wi-Fi) - Android : All models based on Android 4.0 and above - ios : Latest models including iphone 5 & ipad 2 with later than ios 8.0 version - PC : Windows OS installed PC s Android ios Windows OS (PC Supported)

9 2.1.2 Preparation Wireless Connection For SPDS connection, wireless connection is recommended - Android : NFC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct - ios : Wi-Fi Android ios

13 2.1.6 Preparation - Wi-Fi Only Device SPDS connection is available with 3G/LTE as well as Wi-Fi only smart device In order to connect by Wi-Fi only smart devices, user must have a User Account first. User account registration is available by 3G/LTE support smart device with USIM. If you want to know details for user account, please refer to the 2.3.1

17 2.3 Login (1) Login with ID & Password (1) (2) User account Registration. In order to use SPDS, user should be registered by HQ with specific information - User Registration Request : Making a new Account - Change/Reset your Password : Modifying Password to the new one - SPDS work/use inquiry : Sending request to SPDS manager in HQ (2)

Partner : GSPN ID, 7 digit * If new partner with Samsung, please contact Samsung sales or service reps. to register Partner ID - Password. At least 4 letters of Alphabet. One or more Number. 19 2.3.2 Login Change/Reset Password (ii) Change/Reset your Password : Modifying Password - Fill-in ID to get the authentication code - Check authentication code at the mail from SPDS system, and then input that code at the box - Change Password to the new one with rules (i) (ii) (iii)

20 2.3.3 Login SPDS inquiry (iii) SPDS work/use inquiry (i) (ii) (iii) - If user has any further request, please contact SPDS admin by this menu. problem of user registration or user information. request or proposal for SPDS system improvement. and any request to HQ * Id you need to change the details relating to personal account information, like change your partner ID, address, and delete your account, please send the request to SPDS admin by this menu.

21 2.3.4 Login - Changing to the New USIM How to re-authenticate user account for new USIM? - Install the new USIM in to the smart device, and connect to SPDS - Re-authentication pop-up > OK > HQ admin - New USIM is available after approval of SPDS admin (takes 1 or 2 days) 1 HQ Admin Popup for new USIM

22 2.3.5 User Account Policy SPDS User Account policy follows 3 rules User must have 1 USIM in order to make 1 user account User account will be suspended If user doesn t login over one month Wi-Fi dedicated devices Can be additionally accessed if already own a user account

24 2.4.1 Connecting to Machine USB (1) USB - Access to the machine with Android device with USB cable + OTG gender USB cable (1) OTG For Android device

25 2.4.2 Connecting to Machine NFC (2) NFC - NFC function On at the machine (Settings > NFC > NFC On) (2) - NFC function On at the smart device Select R/W P2P - Tag smart device at the NFC sticker on the machine

26 2.4.3 Connecting to Machine Wi-Fi Direct (3) Wi-Fi Direct - For UI based models Wi-Fi Direct function On at the machine ; (Settings > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi On > Wi-Fi Direct) - For no UI models, press WPS button for a while for connection - LED flicker > Wi-Fi Direct function On at the smart device Select Wi-Fi Direct (3) - Connect the smart device with the machine

27 2.4.4 Connecting to Machine Without Connection (4) Without Connection - Limited functions can be temporarily performed only when accessing a connection by without connection. (4) * If you want to get detailed menu map, please refer to the Wi-Fi only model

28 2.4.5 Connecting to Machine ios For ios device, SPDS can connect to the machine by 2 methods. (1) The model which support Wi-Fi. - Select Wi-Fi > Select the machine * Machine should be connected with same router LAN Cable ios device (2) The model which doesn t support Wi-Fi. - Connect to the machine directly by cables USB Ethernet Adapter (NEXT-210CA) (Refer to 2.1.4) (4) * IP Address should be configured as DHCP - Select the machine Lightening

29 2.4.6 Connecting to Machine Windows PC For Windows PC, USB Printer cable is needed for connection from PC to Printer * Please note that just one machine should be connected when installing driver, and when using SPDS USB Printer Cable Printer USB Printer Cable PC

30 2.4.6 Connecting to Machine Windows PC Install Zadig driver - Zadig driver must be installed on your PC at least one time per each machine - Setup file is included in SPDS for version compression file, please refer to for download * Please make sure this driver is not related with Samsung Printer Driver. - Run Zadig_2.2.exe (1) Option > Check All device (1)

31 2.4.6 Connecting to Machine Windows PC (2) Select machine name at the pull down bar * Select Interface 1 if more than 2 items appears in the same model (3) Check WinUSB is selected (4) Select Replace Driver then installation will be started * For re-installation, Reinstallation Driver (5) (2) (3) (4) (5) Run SPDS, then select USB connection

42 3.3.1 Engine Diagnosis Engine Diagnosis - In case of machine operation failure, the engine diagnosis can help identify the causes of printing engine problems via methods of checking and testing defective parts or conditions. 48 3.4.1 Test Printout Pattern - Printout pattern : Prints optimized patterns for checking machine condition and image evaluation Pattern List (for K7600LX) (*) * Number of pages to print menu is available only for blank sheet printing

49 3.4.2 Test Shading Test - Shading test. Tests scanner operation and scanned image quality. Shading test must be prtformed in case of replacing mainboard or scan unit. If shading test is failed, inspect scanner lens, furthermore you may need to replace the scan unit Fail OK

50 3.5.1 Information - Configuration What s Information? - When user wants to get detailed configuration and information of the machine, SPDS provides you details through printing reports Configuration

In order to use download firmware function, firmware file must should be located at specific folder : SPDS / FW 3) Run Download Firmware > Select firmware to update * Caution : While update is on progress, don t be turn off the smart device and the machine, also don t be stop the update process as well

55 3.6.1 Service - Cloning Cloning - In case of replacing mainboard, you can overwrite previous options to the new mainboard - Exporting configuration > importing to the new mainboard - Backup data : Machine Setting, Network Setting, Address Book, User Profile Export configuration data Replace mainboard Import configuration data Login with printer Admin ID

56 3.6.2 Service - Send Debug Log (1) Sending Debug Log - Downloads system debug log for reporting to HQ (1) Select period. Log should be included data when the problem was occurred (2) Save. Saving debug log file at the smart device (3) SPDS Server. Only administrator of HQ and Subsidiary can be utilize this function. Debug log file is saved at the SPDS Server, saved data can be download at SPDS web site (2) (3)

58 3.6.4 Service Counter Initialization Counter Initialization - Counter Initialization > Select Unit > Initialization - After replacing the maintenance parts, counter info. must be initialized

60 3.6.6 Service Serial No. Setting - Serial No. Setting. After you replace the mainboard which hasn t MSOK, you should input the previous mainboard s serial no. manually into the new mainboard. This menu is authorized for HQ and Subsidiary members only in case of setting serial number, please contact service representative

61 3.7 Warranty Claim What s Warranty Claim? - After completing the service activity, you can easily enter essential data for warranty claim - Saved details are transferred to GSPN, then you can easily complete just you input some more data at your PC GSPN

62 4 FAQ Q) I cannot set up serial number after replacing mainboard A) Only HQ and Subsidiary members has the authority to reset the serial number. Please contact subsidiary service rep. Q) When I input the serial number on the replaced mainboard, error code (Error 50, Error 650) is occurred. A) Please refer to below symptom and then retry. Error 50 : User inputted wrong serial number. Error 650: Need to examine the log from the device Q) SPDS cannot connect to the printer for old model A) SPDS doesn t support the old models (e.g. CLP-6220FX). Please check the specification of each model. In order to use SPDS, the machine should be supported SDPS/DCU Q) SPDS error occurred repeatedly, how can I get technical support? A) Please declare the ticket in BTSP( Samsung service professionals will give you rapid & proper answer

63 4 FAQ Q) I use the iphone & ipad, how can I connect to the machine? A) SPDS connection is available through 2 methods for ios ; Wi-Fi, and Direct connection. Please refer to Q) I tried to connect the iphone and ipad by Wi-Fi, however it can t A) For Wi-Fi connection, the smart device and the machine should be connected with the same router Q) I want to download and save disassembly movie clip, how do I get? A) If you see the movie clip, it saves mobile phone or SD card (only for Android device) SD card inserted : /card/android/data/com.sec.spds/files/video no SD card : /phone/spds/video

64 4 FAQ Q) I tried to make the new account, but errors were occurred; cannot make the new account. A) Please check ID making policy carefully, then try again referring to the below guide - ID.
