3 pplication Modulated DSFY/16 actuating drive with safety function (spring return) is used in ventilation and air conditioning (VC) systems to control air dampers. When the power supply is interrupted, the spring force moves the air dampers back into the fail-safe positions. The drives are equipped with a universal adapter and are mounted directly to the air damper valves. Types DSFY/16 DSFY/16/E C/DC 24V actuating drive with spring return for 16Nm. 4 Installation! Electrical installation and unit connection may only be carried out by qualified technicians. Be sure to comply with local wiring regulations. The actuating drive is connected according to the terminal connection diagram or the legally binding circuit diagram. When the switch is set to ON, the actuating drive performs a single initialization run. The initialization run automatically starts both end positions. ON position: When control signal Y is changed or the rotational angle is automatically limited, control signal Y is adjusted to the available rotational angle. Delivery setting: Off (for 0 to 10V, 0 to 20m, and 0 to 90 rotational angle). 7 Changing the fail-safe position The default for the fail-safe position (spring return) is set to the left end position (fig. 1). By reinserting the adapter sleeve, the fail-safe position can be switched to the right end position. The rotational direction of the constant control can also be switched in this way. Changing the fail-safe position including reversal of the rotational Fail-safe position is on the Remove circlip for the adapter 1 left. 2 (rear of the unit). 3 Mark both crown flanks on the position marks. Remove adapter (1) and adapter 4 sleeve (2) from the top. 5 Turn the adapter sleeve and insert from bottom side the unit. The marked crown flanks must match the position marks on the topside of the unit. 6 Reinsert the adapter from the top of the unit in the end position on the right. 7 Secure the adapter with the circlip. While pressing down on the crank, turn the crank back about a ½ rotation until the spring return locks. - Turn switch cam C1 counter-clockwise until microswitch D1 switches. uxiliary switch B - Set to 70 rotational angle: - Insert the crank in the coupling sleeve and press down on coupling. - Use the crank to turn the actuating drive until the adapter is set to a 70 rotational angle. While pressing down on the crank, turn the crank back about a ½ rotation until the spring return locks. - Turn switch cam C2 clockwise until microswitch D2 switches. Replace the cover, switch on mains power supply, and perform operational check. Page 8 / 8
