1 Date: November 3, 2011 Announcing: From: Released To: Facility Explorer Supervisory Controller Updates and New Products Facility Explorer Product Management Authorized Building Controls Specialists (ABCS) Product Description Johnson Controls, Inc. is pleased to announce new additions and enhancements to Facility Explorer Supervisory Controllers: FX Supervisory Controller Software Release 4.0 FX20, FX60, and FX70 Supervisory Controllers which include factory-installed BACnet Master-Slave/Token-Passing (MS/TP) protocol driver license Additional optional drivers are now available FX Energy Suite FX20 and FX60 basic demo supervisory controllers New Product Code s for FX20 and FX60 New LONWORKS option card and driver product code numbers Standard panels with selected BACnet MS/TP enabled FX Supervisory Controllers FX Supervisory Controller Software Release 4.0 FX Supervisory Controller Software Release 4.0 uses Niagara AX 3.6, which contains several new features and enhancements. Some of the new features include: A new option card (LP-FXSRAM-0) with battery-less backup, which eliminates the need for battery packs. The option card fits in an FX Supervisory controller option card slot and provides data preservation when power is lost. The LP-FXSRAM-0 preserves any transient history and alarm database changes as well as configuration changes. You do not need to replace batteries (which eliminates battery disposal) or provide maintenance costs. Wi-Fi FX70 mini-pci card (LP-FX70WIFI-0) provides connectivity to a Wireless- Fidelity (Wi-Fi) Local Area Network (LAN). The FX70WIFI supports Wireless Enabled Programmable (WEP), Wi-Fi Protected Access/Pre-Shared Key (WPA/PSK) Counter Mode with Cipher Block Chaining Message Authentication Code Protocol (CCMP), WPA2/PSK CCMP, WPA, and WPA2 network security authentication/encryption. This card eliminates LAN wiring and therefore reduces installation cost and increases installation flexibility. Improved FX Supervisory Controller performance by an upgraded version of the QNX operating system (6.4.1), which includes IPv6 support in the FX60 and FX70 and HotSpot Java Virtual Machine (JVM) used in the FX60 and FX70. 2 Tool usability improvements include wire sheet enhancements and a new Baja Query Language (BQL) expression component that provides custom math or custom logic component definition. Wire sheet improvements include: Data type conversions within links. Eliminate the need to add conversion blocks. Link highlighting. Easily see links for a selected block. Navigating between links. Easily navigate between links by double-clicking the links. Link selection. Easily select different links when they overlap each other. Link deletion. Delete an off-page link via the right-click menu. Maximum size. Set the maximum size of a wire sheet. Sedona Component auto-sizing. Use the auto-sizing feature to calculate component width on the Sedona wire sheet. RSA SecurID Integration allows users to validate credentials using RSA SecurID server. The user is given a unique token code to log on (code periodically changes). This feature includes custom logon screens in FX Workbench and a Web browser. This is a standard feature, requiring no additional license fee. Platforms supported at FX Supervisory Controller Software Release 4.0 include: Microsoft Windows 7 Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Microsoft Virtual Server 2008 VMWare Server 2 User interface support for more handheld devices including Android and Blackberry. A configuration assistant helps the user set screen display size in the user profile for the optimal display size for a particular device. Graphical point history on the handheld user interface. We also provide live graphing to view point values as they change. 2

3 FX20, FX60, and FX70 Supervisory Controllers with BACnet MS/TP Driver License New models of FX Supervisory Controllers are now available. These models have the same features as the existing FX Supervisory Controller models and now include a factory-installed BACnet Master-Slave/Token-Passing (MS/TP) driver license. This feature means that you do not have to call customer service to order the additional BACnet driver license and then wait for the with the updated license. If your project does not require a BACnet MS/TP driver license, you can continue to order the existing code numbers. Additional Drivers FlexSerial driver. Provides a generic serial driver that you can configure to communicate to a wide range of simple serial communicating devices. The driver allows you to model the native device message structures. Carrier CCN driver. Provides the mechanism to integrate CCN devices into FX Supervisory controllers. McQuay driver. Provides communications to a McQuay MicroTech Open Protocol Master (OPM) device including any MicroTech controllers that are RS-485 networked to the OPM device. Andover Infinity driver. Communicates with CMX-240 and Continuum NetController CPU-4M. 3

4 FX Energy Suite FX Energy Suite adds energy usage and cost reporting to FX Server. FX Energy helps you visualize, analyze, and plan energy cost saving strategies. FX Energy collects data from meters connected to FX Supervisory controllers via BACnet, LONWORKS, N2, Modbus, or OLE for Process Controls (OPC). FX Energy formats the data into easy to understand reports that help you quickly make informed energy cost saving decisions. You can view FX Energy reports from an Internet browser, which provides access to this energy information any time from virtually anywhere. Table 1 lists the FX Energy reports available to help manage energy usage and cost. Please see Table 7 for product code numbers and pricing information. FX20 and FX60 Supervisory Controllers Engineering, Demo Versions The Engineering/Demo versions of the FX20 and FX60 Supervisory Controllers now come in a more economical configuration. The LP-FX20BDEM-1 and LP-FX60BDEM-1 Supervisory Controllers include all software modules and drivers without the option cards or the Input/Output (I/O) expansion module. Use these controllers for engineering and demonstration purposes only. Do not use these controllers for actual project installation. Note: You still must purchase the office support and renewal fees to activate these controllers. The license expires yearly on October 31 and must be renewed yearly to continue operation. FX20 and FX60 Supervisory Controllers Code Change The Product Code s for the FX20 and FX60 will change from LP-FX2011N-0 and LP-FX6011N-0 to LP-FX2011N-1 and LP-FX6011N-1. This change is limited to the code number and does not involve changes to the controller hardware or software. We plan to deplete our stock of LP-FX2011N-0 and LP-FX6011N-0 controllers and then begin shipping the -1 models. If you have LP-FX2011N-0 or LP-FX6011N-0 controllers on order, you may receive a -1 unit. LONWORKS Code s The product code numbers for the LONWORKS twisted pair option for the FX20, FX22, FX60, FX62, and FX70 will change to unbundle the hardware and driver software license. Two code numbers will replace the single LP-FXLONFTT-0. Specify LP-FXLONFTT-1 for the LONWORKS option card and LP-FXLON-0 for the LONWORKS driver license. We will fill any existing orders for LP-FXLONFTT-0. 5
