2 Introduction The CDHU is an intelligent CM providing connections for multiple luminaires*, up to presence detectors and up to 0 SV inputs. Provision is made for switched live outputs plus one volt-free power output. The unit features a switched output for Maintained ive to allow initiation of mergency ighting Test. In addition, the unit is provided with a volt-free signalling output to provide control of / interface to other equipment. The CDHU is designed to simplify installation whilst providing an intelligent managed lighting system. *ote: Refer to the Technical Data section for the maximum allowable number of luminaires. oads on Channel Ballast Ballast Dimming D D Dimming D D Fixing The CDHU should be mounted in an enclosure with a DI-rail. Consideration should be given to access for installation and maintenance when selecting the enclosure and location. The external enclosure DI-rail should comply with 0. ote: For the maximum number of allowable ballasts, refer to Technical Data section. lectrical Connections The connections to this equipment should be made only by a suitably qualified person and in accordance with the current wiring regulations. A means of disconnection must be incorporated in the fixed mains wiring to this box in accordance with the current wiring regulations. As shown in the diagram, the eutral and arth connections should be taken directly to the load. MAIS IPUT ach Switched ive output is rated for a load of up to A, with a total maximum switched live load not exceeding A for the unit. DIMMIG CHAS Output is provided as a volt-free style for extra flexibility. Connecting the uminaires Variants of the CDHU are provided to control DSI, DAI and -0V ballasts. (See Part umbers section for more details.) ote: Dimming Ballast types CAOT B MIXD on a single CDHU. The CDHU is equipped with two-wire pluggable terminals for dimming outputs and two-wire pluggable terminals are provided for switched live outputs. Switched ive Outputs through are grouped in pairs on a single plug to add mechanical strength for plugging/unplugging. Switched ive Output has two terminals for connecting the load. For wiring convenience, the middle terminal of the -way block is internally linked to the Mains ive input as shown. ote: arth and eutral are connected directly to the luminaire and not routed through the CDHU. --

Alternatively, the external shorting link can be removed and an external supply (from the same phase) can be connected to create a Maintained Output. The CDHU also has provision to connect additional SV switch inputs in order to meet the requirement of additional inputs. Unlike the -pole connector, this provides two terminals A&B for each of the inputs. The high density input plug (not supplied) can be ordered using the code CDHHDIP. ote: For the switches on the High Density Connector (SW -) use any of the C common connectors from switches -. Wiring for HD SV Input: Connecting Presence Detectors The following SV detectors are designed to interface to the CDHU: MS00CDR Corner-mount Microwave presence detector with photocell, semi-flush mounted. Available with surface mount (SM suffix). MS0CDR 0 Microwave presence detector with photocell, flush mounted. Available in surface mount version (SM suffix). MS00CDR 0 PIR presence detector with photocell, flush mounted. Available in surface mount version (SM suffix). MSM00CDR Controller for a 0 PIR detector with photocell. Used with the DHS OR DHW mini-head to form an integral luminaire-mounted unit. ach connects to the CDHU by means of an thernet-style RJ connector terminated patch lead which are available ready-made in m, m and 0m lengths. Up to five detectors may be connected to a CDHU. Positioning Presence Detectors For information on installing and positioning detectors, please refer to the installation instructions provided with the particular detector. Connecting SV Output, Aux The CDHU has a single SV change-over output for signalling purposes only. This can be used to signal an external system e.g. BMS. Connection is made via a -pole pluggable terminal block (supplied) of the same type used for SV inputs - (CDHIP). MAIS IPUT SWITCHD IV OUTPUTS VOT FR CHAS IV M DIMMIG CHAS COMMS BUS Connecting Switches The CDHU is equipped with SV switch inputs which will typically be two way, centre off, momentary rockers,(e.g. the MK K900 range). The logical function of a switch can be configured from a wide range of options and its action can be associated with any combination of channels. The switch connection consists of a -pole pluggable terminal block comprising a common and two returns from normally open contacts. Six plugs are provided with each CDHU. The plug type is common with the Aux output channel. Additional plugs can be ordered using the code CDHIP ( pieces per pack). The recommended cable for use with the SV switches is -core 00/00v 0.mm² cable to CMA Reference Y or for S0H, to CMA Reference B. The maximum allowable cable length between the switch mechanism and the CDHU terminal block is 00m. Three separate single wires should not be used. ote: The external voltage connected to Aux must never exceed V AC/DC. The SV Output must be used only for signalling purposes. Maximum current shall not exceed A. Connecting the Communications Bus (MS) It is imperative that the MS Bus be wired in the correct type of cable. ormally it should be.mm unscreened twisted pair. See Application ote A00. Do not connect Mains to the MS Bus. 4 Commissioning The CM is commissioned using a dedicated programme running on a Windows-based computer. Commissioning settings may then be directly uploaded from the computer to the CM or transferred to an HP000 hand-held programmer for easy upload on site. Communication from the PC can be by means of a USB infrared transceiver which can signal directly to the CM s on-board infrared port over a short range or via any attached presence detector from beneath (range: -m). The main parameters for configuration are tabulated below. These parameters may be re-programmed any number of times and all settings will be retained in the event of a power loss.
