6 Connector Aitional Specifications Components GIS Test Set To perform Factory Acceptance Testing of the switchgear cable box (GIS), the test set can be installe on the socket of the cable connector. The socket nees to be fille with SF-6 gas uring the FAT of the switchgear an will be supplie with a jointing instruction how to install the GIS Test Set. The epoxy resin socket is built into the GIS or transformer, proviing an electrically insulating seal to the gas or oil insie the equipment. The socket can be assemble at the switchgear or transformer manufacturer. The equipment is then factory teste, shippe, installe an fiel teste incluing the socket. Subsequent connection of the cable is complete without assistance of the switchgear or transformer manufacturer. This provies an economical proceure with reuce on-site installation time an simplifie logistics. Connectors are installe on the cables after preparation an they are teste together with the cable. Mechanical protection uring transport is ensure by a special protection sleeve with an integrate pulling eye. Rotational Click Out During normal operation, the cable is locke/fixe insie the socket insulator. Optionally it is possible to unlock the cable from the socket as well as to unlock the cable from the fiel boy, by using the rotational Click-Out mechanism.
