3 World Trade in Textiles & Clothing - EXPORT World Export Statistics of Textiles & Clothing Year To Date: January - December Rank Country Million United States Dollars % Share % Change /2016 World China India Germany Bangladesh Italy Vietnam Turkey United States Hong Kong Spain Source: GTA World export trade in T&C increased by 3.94% from US $ Bn during Jan-Dec 2016 to US $ Bn during Jan-Dec India reported a growth of 5.37% with exports increasing from US$ Bn in Jan-Dec 2016 to US$ Bn in Jan-Dec 2017 followed by Germany and Bangladesh with growth rate of 14.65% and 2.41% respectively. Vietnam reported the growth of 10.67% during Jan-Dec China, Italy, Turkey, United States & Spain recorded positive growth during this period. Amongst the top 10 countries, Hong Kong have reported a decline. 3

Germany, Italy, Japan and Indonesia have reported positive growth during this period. 5

Bangladesh (2nd largest exporter) reported a growth of 2.25%. Vietnam (3rd largest exporter) reported a growth of 9.14% during Jan-Dec Germany being the 5 th largest exporter reported highest growth of 22.59% followed by India with growth of 2.70% during this period. Spain (8 th largest exporter) reported a growth of 12.49% during Jan-Dec 2017 Hong Kong (9 th ) have declined during Jan-Dec

India remains the third largest supplier of T&C to USA during Jan-Feb, recording a growth of 2.01% after China and Vietnam. Imports from China reported a growth of 2.21% in Jan-Feb, while Vietnam (the second largest supplier) reported a growth of 6.11% in Jan-Feb. Bangladesh (4 th ) reported a decline of 1.65% during the period Jan-Feb. Mexico (5 th ) reported a growth of 6.01% during Jan-Feb. % Change % Share World China Vietnam India Bangladesh Mexico Indonesia Pakistan Cambodia Honduras Italy Pakistan, Cambodia, Honduras and Italy reported positive growth during Jan-Feb. 8

India remains the second largest supplier of Textiles to USA during Jan-Feb, but has slightly declined by (-) 0.94% during Jan-Feb. Imports from China reported a growth of 6.04% in Jan-Feb, while Mexico (the third largest supplier) reported growth of 9.07% in Jan-Feb. India remains the fifth largest supplier of Clothing to USA during Jan-Feb, recording a growth of 4.94%. Imports from China reported a slight growth of 0.57% in Jan-Feb, while Vietnam (the second largest supplier) reported a growth of 6.32% during this period. Bangladesh (3 rd ) largest supplier reported a growth of 1.41 in Jan-Feb. Cambodia (7 th ) recorded highest growth of 15.01% during Jan-Feb. Sri Lanka (9 th ) reported a decline during Jan-Feb. 10

India (3 rd largest supplier) reported a growth of 18.78% in Jan-Feb. Leading supplier China reported a growth of 11.97% in Jan-Feb, while Bangladesh reported a growth of 19.59% during Jan-Feb. Turkey recorded growth of 15.72% during this period. China being the top supplier reported a growth of 3.88% in Jan-Feb, followed by India with a decline of (-) 3.56% in Jan-Feb. Pakistan and Mexico recorded growth of 2.69% and 6.81% in Jan-Feb. Taiwan (7 th rank) recorded highest growth of 8.53% in Jan-Feb. % Change % Share World China India Pakistan Mexico Canada South Korea Taiwan Italy Turkey Japan Canada, Turkey and Japan have declined during this period. 15

China s imports reached a level of US $ 5.46 Bn (1983 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Dec 2017 increasing from US $ 5.12 Bn (1972 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Dec 2016, a growth 6.46% in dollar terms and 0.57% in quantity terms. Hong Kong(2 nd ) declined by (-) 12.16% during Jan-Dec Turkey reported a highest growth of 28.14% during this period. Portugal, Italy, Russia and Germany reported positive growth during Jan-Dec

India s exports reached a level of US $ 3.45 Bn (1124 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Dec 2017 increasing from US $ 3.22 Bn (1192 Mn Kgs) in Jan-Dec 2016, a growth 7.21% in dollar terms and decline of (-) 5.77% in quantity terms. Vietnam reported highest growth of 23.93% in dollar terms and 16.53% in quantity terms during Jan-Dec 2017 followed by Turkey with growth of 13.42% in dollar terms and 2.48% in quantity terms during this period.
