16 GD Mission Systems EDGE Winter Institute Lessons Learned While many First Responder organizations have solid internal communication solutions, interoperability with other agencies continues to lag With B14 devices in short supply, WiFi can provide a suitable interim wireless bridge to the B14 network (via vehicle routers) With insertion of digital connectivity including PLI and automated reporting, diminished voice comms, clearing the LMR voice net, and ensuring its availability for urgent communications; LMR and B14 LTE data can and should live together for the foreseeable future The best way to influence public safety organizations to embrace and foment a dedicated LTE network is to find and demonstrate innovative mobile applications that address their challenges and leverage the performance of an LTE network 2015 General Dynamics.
