18 Monthly Tourist Intelligence Meeting Area Law Enforcement has been meeting the first Wednesday of every Month with private partners for a breakfast intelligence meeting. Private partners include but not limited to security professionals, executives, trade organizations from the theme parks, lodging and retail segment. Law Enforcement includes Local, State and Federal Law Enforcement as well as the local fusion center. The monthly intelligence meetings have been hosted by the Orange County Sheriff s Office for over 25 years.
19 I-Drive Crime Prevention Community Bulletin Board Also known as the I-Drive B.B., it is a web based login website restricted to private and law enforcement partners. All private members are screened with a background check. Currently 12 active folders with several restricted to law enforcement only. The Crime Alert folder automatically generates an to all users. OCSO registered Users = 185 Other Agency Registered Users= 118 Private Partners Registered Users= 510 Total Registered Users= 810
20 Tourist Oriented Policing Squad The Tourist Oriented Policing Squad known as TOPS is 10 additional deputies assigned to a special taxing district. The TOPS Unit is funded with a private partner and federal government grant. The grant is for five years. The primary duties include bike patrol and maintaining a proactive relationship with private partners in the improvement district. The city of Orlando was also funded for the TOPS Program. In addition to law enforcement duties, TOPS Deputies and Officers are considered Goodwill Ambassadors to the community and private partners.
21 Tourist Information Patrol Specialist The Tourist Information Patrol Specialist Program (TIPS) is a volunteer program similar to the Citizens on Patrol (COPS) program utilized in many cities across the U.S. TIPS Volunteers are not sworn. Trained volunteers provide assistance to travelers and act as an extra set of eyes and ears for law enforcement. TIPS Volunteers are trained in Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations, Traffic Control, Chemical Spray Use and Radio Procedures. There are currently 10 TIPS Volunteers in Orange County. In 2010 TIPS Volunteers provided approximately 1200 hours of volunteer service to the citizens and visitors of Orange County.
22 Tourist Victim Advocate Program The Tourist Victim Advocate is assigned to assist travelers Who may become: 1. Victims of Crimes 2. Death or Serious Injury 3. Lost/Stolen Passports 4. Consular Notifications 5. Relocation to another property if they are the victim of domestic violence. The Tourist Victim Advocate may also assist in providing monetary funds for certain emergencies. Funds are private donations and not taxpayer funded.
23 Trespass Program Program designed to curb Illegal Handbill distribution Anyone caught distributing illegal handbills in violation of FL. Statute at any lodging establishment that participates in the trespass program will be trespassed. If suspect initially trespassed is caught at another establishment that also participates, they may be subject to immediate arrest.
24 Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) Art Initiative Traffic Signal Boxes in the International Drive area Wrapped with art designs to prevent graffiti. Currently serving as a test area for all of Orange County. 20K for the program was started with private partner donations.
25 Operation I-Watch Trolley I-Ride Trolley Drivers are trained to observe and report suspicious activity while operating the I-Ride Trolley in the International Drive area.
