3 The Past and the Future Standards for the design, build and operation of data centers were pioneered by organizations such as the Uptime Institute, TIA and BICSI. Thanks to their simple and clear structures, Uptime, TIA and BICSI & EN50600 standards have since become the global reference point for the classification of data center designs Open Standard for Datacenter Availability (OSDA) is an idea to embrace datacenter innovation, drivingtowards sustainability and energy efficiency. 3
