Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): A38 strategic corridor 2 sites or conduct Like the M1, the A38 is a route of strategic national importance between the west midlands and the north. These cameras at opposite ends of the route complement each other. They contribute to national security investigations, serious crime investigations, homicide investigations and local priority crime. The southern cameras help detect and deter high value vehicle burglary offences from rural south Derbyshire, and the northern cameras help in the fight against organized crime from the west Yorkshire drug markets in to Derby. The cameras have proved their worth in detecting and preventing crimes connected to theft of HGV loads in The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): A50 strategic corridor 2 sites or conduct Like the M1 and the A38, the A50 is a route of strategic national importance between the south, the east midlands and the north west. These cameras at opposite ends of the route complement each other. They contribute to national security investigations, serious crime investigations, homicide investigations and local priority crime. The southern cameras help detect and deter high value vehicle burglary offences from rural south Derbyshire, and the northern cameras help in the fight against organized crime from the north west drug markets in to Derby, Nottingham and Leicester. This year these cameras have contributed to an investigation in to death by dangerous driving on the A50 among many more. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Buxton/A6 Corridor/Matlock - 3 sites on the A6. or conduct Buxton has a significant drug market that is driven either by organized crime in Manchester or Sheffield. The cameras in this area are on main roads allowing proactive challenge of suspected vehicles or retrospective analysis of data to target offenders. In 2017, these cameras played a pivotal role in a county lines investigation driving a potential expansion of class A drug dependency in Chapel-en-le-Frith. The white Peak area remains vulnerable to cross border crime targeting isolated premises, and the Matlock/A6 systems play a significant role in this. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.

Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Chesterfield 3 sites in the town centre and on the A617 or conduct This system allows the monitoring of north and south bound criminal vehicles through Chesterfield. In line with the NE Derbyshire system, this set of cameras allows the richer picture of county lines drug dealing to be understood. The major flow of traffic from the M1 to south Sheffield is along the A617 through Chesterfield. These cameras contribute to many serious crime investigations, not least county lines which has continued to be an issue in Information from these cameras may have contributed to investigations of persons recently arrested for terrorism offences. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Nottinghamshire/Erewash, Amber Valley border 4 sites or conduct Nottingham exports serious crime through county lines drug dealing and serious acquisitive crime. These cameras help officers proactively target offenders and retrospectively investigate offences. In 2017 these cameras have been used to identify potential witnesses in a case of attempted murder and rape at Ilkeston. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.

Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Glossop - 4 site system on main roads or conduct The Glossop area remains vulnerable to cross-border crime from Manchester and South Yorkshire. The cameras are in daily use by police in the area both proactively to prevent offences and retrospectively to investigate offences. In 2017 the cameras in this system have been heavily interrogated to try to explain an unexplained death on the A57. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime. Historically the cameras at Glossop have also contributed to national security operations and investigations.

Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Inner-city Derby 8 sites in the inner city on high volume routes. or conduct Derby has a significant role in national security operations. This system of cameras is designed, in part to support these investigations and these cameras have directly supported the recent operations to defeat terrorists in Derby. They also contribute significantly to serious crime investigations, particularly targeting organized crime groups based in the inner city. These cameras have in this year contributed to an investigation in to a murder in the West Midlands. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary for national security and to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Long Eaton town 5 sites or conduct Previous assessments revealed that an earlier system in Long Eaton was not sufficiently contributing to the strategic aims and the privacy impact of the system was assessed as being too great. That has been decommissioned as a result and a revised system has been installed to more strategically target travelling crime. Long Eaton sits on a porous border with Nottingham and is vulnerable to exported citycrime. The system now monitors traffic from the city and has proved of great value, for example in crimes related to theft of expensive tools on a wholesale basis from parked vans. It is assessed that the use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary for national security and to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.

Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): M1 corridor M1 carriageway and Tibshelf services or conduct The M1 motorway in Derbyshire is the main vehicle artery between the south, the midlands and the north. The cameras monitor all four lanes of traffic and the entrance to the service area. They have contributed every year to counter-terrorism investigations, homicide investigations, serious crime investigations and local crime investigations (they substantially reduce crime on the service area). They help to find missing people and are an essential national asset, as the Derbyshire stretch of the M1 is a pinch-point between high-volume strategic routes. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary as a matter of national security, to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Sheffield NE Derbyshire border 6 sites on A & B class roads Date of Review: 30/12/16 or conduct The county lines drug dealing networks of Sheffield continue to cause significant problems in the Chesterfield area. These cameras have been essential in the development of the police response to this crime, operation Trebeck. The area also suffers high value vehicle burglaries along the Sheffield border and these cameras contribute to the fight against that crime. They have also helped in the investigation of an armed robbery offence at a post office close to the border with Sheffield and on crimes of distraction burglary in Dronfield Woodhouse. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Outer Derby ring 3 sites on the A52 and A6 or conduct Derby has a significant role in national security operations. This system of cameras is designed, in part to support these investigations. They also contribute to serious and major crime investigations and in 2017, among many other cases, have identified a suspect vehicle involved in the supply of class A drugs to the Belper area: crime exported by the city of Derby. They have also been used in the investigation of a female child being taken to Nottingham to be abused. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary for national security and to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): Sheffield Peak District Border 3 sites on A roads Date of Review: or conduct The upper Peak District in Derbyshire suffers cross-border crime from the Sheffield area on a regular basis for example in farmers quad bikes were stolen. Investigations, intelligence and recoveries suggest the majority of this crime originates in South Yorkshire. The ANPR systems allow proactive preventative operations and reactive investigations to start with good lines of enquiry. Cameras on the A57 contributed to an investigation in to an unexplained death on that road in 2017 The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.

Location of ANPR NRD (ANPR Camera): South Derbyshire perimeter 4 sites or conduct South Derbyshire sits between significant urban centres at Derby, Nottingham, Loughborough, Leicester, Birmingham and Burton-upon-Trent. Accordingly the rural communities are vulnerable to travelling crime. In 2017 ANPR systems identified an international organized crime group operating in South Derbyshire. The continued use of the devices in this area is justified as necessary to fight serious and organized crime, major crime and local priority crime.
