7 7 Technology demonstra<on in real- world situa<ons provides feasibility, costs and benefits of poten<al solu<ons Irvine Smart Grid Demonstra&on (ISGD) Descrip&on: An end- to- end demonstra<on of numerous smart grid technologies which will test the interoperability and efficacy of key elements of the grid, from the transmission level through the distribu<on system and into the home. Total Cost: $80 million Department of Energy (DOE) Funds: $40 million Project Schedule: Lab tes<ng, construc<on, and field tes<ng began in Tes<ng will con<nue into Tehachapi Wind Energy Storage Project (TSP) Descrip&on: Build one of the world s largest bahery energy storage systems (BESS) (8MW for 4hr/32MWh), near Tehachapi wind farms to demonstrate 13 opera<onal uses for energy storage including intermihent resource integra<on, opera<on and transmission benefits. Total Cost: $57 million Department of Energy (DOE) Funds: $25 million Project Schedule: Construc<on began at Monolith in Pre- commissioning is scheduled to commence in late 2013.

8 Common Cyber Security Services (CCS) Deployed in the McArthur Substa<on as part of the Irvine Smart Grid Demonstra<on Project Standards based on NISTR, SGIP. DOE requirements and profile work Key vendors such as have developed and delivered CCS clients we have fielded their devices Provides NERC CIP v5 compliance controls and end to end cybersecurity SCE will install CCS in BES substa<ons over the next several years.
