1 8x Independent DMX Controller Thank you for your purchase! The drumlite Independent DMX controller allows you to control each drumlite individually meaning each drum can glow a different color at any time. Setting up your DMX ready drumlite kit can be a bit time consuming so we ve outlined all the key points to get you started. Damage to other DMX devices may occur if not setup properly.

3 DMX Control Each drumlite consists of one or two RGB LED strips per drum (red, green, blue). Each color can be dimmed individually (between 0-255) or in combination with each other to create any color under the sun. Drum #1 Ch. 1: Red dimmer Ch. 2: Green dimmer Ch. 3: Blue dimmer Drum #2 Ch. 4: Red dimmer Ch. 5: Green dimmer Ch. 6: Blue dimmer Drum #3 Ch. 7: Red dimmer Ch. 8: Green dimmer Ch. 9: Blue dimmer Drum #4 Ch. 10: Red dimmer Ch. 11: Green dimmer Ch. 12: Blue dimmer Drum #5 Ch. 13: Red dimmer Ch. 14: Green dimmer Ch. 15: Blue dimmer Drum #6 Ch. 16: Red dimmer Ch. 17: Green dimmer Ch. 18: Blue dimmer Drum #7 Ch. 19: Red dimmer Ch. 20: Green dimmer Ch. 21: Blue dimmer Drum #8 Ch. 22: Red dimmer Ch. 23: Green dimmer Ch. 24: Blue dimmer The Independent DMX controller needs only one address to be set. It then uses that address and the 23 channels following it. So if you set it to the DMX address of 100, it would use Each channel will then work like a dimmer for the 3 colors (see the table above).

4 How to set the DMX address Turn the DMX input on by setting the FUN DIP switch (switch #10) to OFF (upwards position). Each DIP switch has a corresponding binary with a value listed below. 1 = 1 2 = 2 3 = 4 4 = 8 5 = 16 6 = 32 7 = 64 8 = = = FUN DIP switches 1-9 must be "ON" (downwards) to count the value of the DIP switch. Example 1: The DMX controller is set to the DMX address 37. In order to obtain the value of 37, dial down DIP switches 1, 3, and 6 (37 = ). Example 2: The DMX controller is set to the DMX address 328. In order to obtain the value of 328, dial down DIP switches 4, 7, and 9 (328 = ).

5 Built-In Functions In addition to the externally controlled DMX signal input, this DMX controller has built-in preset colors and effects. Turn these on by setting the FUN DIP switch (switch #10) to ON (downward position). Select any of the 7 colors or flashing/fading presets by pressing down the appropriate DIP switch listed below: Switch 1: Red Switch 2: Green Switch 3: Blue Switch 4: Yellow Switch 5: Purple Switch 6: Cyan Switch 7: White Switch 8: 7-color flash (speed adjustable) Switch 9: 7-color fade (speed adjustable) If the flashing or fading presets are selected (switches 8 or 9) switches 1-7 will adjust the speed for those presets. Press down the appropriate DIP switch down for the desired flash/fade speed: Switch 1: slowest flash/fade speed Switch 2: one step faster Switch 3: two steps faster Switch 7: fastest flash/fade speed

6 Changing to 220v AC Power: The 8 channel Independent DMX Controller is initially set up to operate on 110 volt AC power. If you wish to operate this controller on 220 volt AC power, please follow the steps below to switch the power input switch. Please refer to the guide on the last page to determine which setting your country requires. The Quick Way Tools Required: small Phillips screwdriver 1. Remove the back cover of the SKB case. 2. Use a small screwdriver to reach through the power supply case and flip the switch. Switch pushed toward the front of the unit = 110 volts Switch pushed toward the back = 220 volts The Other Way Tools Required: small Phillips screwdriver 1. Remove the front and back cover of the SKB case. 2. Remove the Phillips screw on the front of the power supply, and one on the back.

7 3. Slide the top cover of the power supply toward the front of the unit and then lift upward. 4. Use a small screwdriver to reach through the power supply case and flip the switch. Switch pushed toward the front of the SKB case = 110 volts pushed toward the back = 220 volts Switch 5. Replace the top cover of the power supply and slide toward the back of the unit to line up the screw holes. Replace the two Phillips screws. 6. Replace the back cover of the SKB case.
