5 Compatibility Notes & Issues Microsoft Windows Operating System This version of Titan is compatible with Windows XP Professional. ListProcessor This version of Titan is compatible with ListProcessor version 1.20 K1 or later. SIDON This version of Titan is compatible with SIDON version 2.0 or later. Media Prep This version of Titan is compatible with Media Prep version 4.3 or later. Specifications This version has no new hardware specifications. Installation Issues This version has no new installation issues. Upgrade Issues This version has no new upgrade issues. New Features in Release This version has no new features. Hardware and Software Changes Button Box The following changes were made to Titan version Crashing If the button box was set up incorrectly, Titan would not show available channels and generated numerous errors. In this version, the button box does produce these problems. Synchronizing Play and Next In previous versions, the button box could not synchronize the Play and Next commands. Titan can do this now. 5

6 Channel Confirmation Previously, the button box required confirmation for each channel assigned to button. You no longer have to press OK to confirm each individual channel. Channel Commands In an earlier version, the button box sent duplicate commands to the channel. Now pressing a button sends just a single command. Zero Port Titan no longer attempts to connect to ListProcessor when the port is zero. Copy, Replace, and Delete Traffic Information Moving or pasting after coping an element failed when including traffic information. Now, traffic information moves with the event. Memory Leak Earlier versions of Titan had a memory leak when coping or moving playlist elements. This no longer happens. Large Selections This version allows you to select larger portions of the playlist to cut, copy, replace, and delete. Selecting a large part of the playlist and attempting to copy, replace, or delete slowed down earlier versions of Titan. Replace Exception Error Attempting to cancel a Replace All caused an exception error in earlier versions. This works correctly now. Drag-and-Drop in Empty List In earlier versions, dragging and dropping an event from the inventory to an empty playlist caused the renumber dialog box to open. In this version, the event correctly adds to the playlist. Duplicate Event on Paste Previously, holding down or quickly pressing Ctrl+V created a second event with the same number. Now the playlist numbers all pasted events correctly. Duplicate Event on Append or Insert Previously, pressing Append or Insert buttons too quickly created a second event with the same number. Now the playlist numbers all pasted events correctly. Insert ID Cued Elements You can now use Insert ID to replace a cued element. Playing Elements Titan now allows you to use Insert ID on a playing element. 6

7 Offsets Tape Control Information Earlier versions of Titan hid selection information in the Tape Control frame. The text color is no longer white on a white background. Offsets Deleted Deleting records in previous versions did not always remove the offsets. Now the offsets delete with the event. Next and Drop Next Minimum Drop Next Time The Minimum Drop Next Time is now five seconds. Titan now checks the Minimum Drop Next Time when inserting after a playing. Move On Air and Next When attempting to move the elements on air or next on air, the Move and Move No Offsets selections appeared grayed-out in this version. This helps prevent attempts to move on-air events. Cued Events You can now use Drop Next on cued events. Timeline Item in Timeline In previous versions, a timeline error occurred if the user did not specify the number of items to show in the timeline. Ignore Server Location Previously, the timeline did not use the Ignore Server Location option. Now it displays as Not on Server. New Warnings This version has the following additional warnings appear in the timeline: Not On Local Server On Archive Not Ready to Air Past Kill Date Premature Embargo Date Traffic Duration Does Not Match Warning Text The warnings in this version more accurately reflect the warning order on the timeline. 7

8 Logs ListProcessor In this version, Titan logs changes to the ListProcessor connection status. Connection Failure In previous versions, Titan would indicate a generic connection failure error. The errors now more accurately reflect the source of the problem. Extra Spaces Extra spaces in the logs from editing offsets have been removed. This makes the logs easier to read. Channel Name Titan now logs the channel name when inserting clips using paste or drag-and-drop Embargo Date Exception Setting the Embargo Date no longer causes an exception error in the Titan logs. Database Connection Titan now attempts to reconnect to the database when it loses connection. Name and Version The database connection has the updated application name and version. Options ISCI and Comments The option to Use ISCI code instead of comments did not take effect until Titan restarted. Reset Grids Removed the Reset Grids button from the Option dialog box because it did not work and is not used. Renumber This version has a new option to display the Renumber function. Refresh Rate Version has a new option for Tape Control Refresh Rate. Colors New color options are in this version for the following: Loss of ListProcessor Connection Loss of VDCP Connection Program Kill Disk Date Warning1 8

9 Devices Warning2 Backup In this version, VTR devices have both Primary and Backup. VTR Control Previously, you could not shut down Titan with VTR Control panel open. Now Titan shuts down smoothly with the panel open. Track ID In earlier versions, the FlexEvent ID was not a unique ID which meant some FlexEvents could be assigned to multiple clips. This version uses truly unique OffsetTrack ID to prevent that from occurring. VDCP In this version of Titan, the channel does not flash when closing the VDCP Connection. Cued Elements Abort Titan has the Abort button enabled for cued elements. Delete to Top or Bottom Previously you could delete to top or bottom even when a playing or cued element was in the elements deleted. Modify Now you can modify a cued event. Text When no items were playing, Modify Items for cued elements only worked once. In this version, Modify Items works as intended. Modify Clip This version has an extra field to update the title in the Modifying Clip window. Cancelling Sync Previous versions contained a typo on Canceling Synchronization. This has been corrected. Playlist Auto-JIP Centering Playlist In previous versions, Auto-JIP did not center the playlist on the new event. Now, the playlist centers on the correct event when you use Auto-JIP. Find and Replace Previously, the Find & Replace dialog box saved duplicate IDs. This does not happen in this version. 9

10 Archive The Retrieve From Archive selection is accessible only when the media is on the archive server. Hot Menus This version no longer has Shift + F3 for "Cue & Play" & Shift + F10 for "Win Right Click" in the Hot Flex Events and Hot Switches menus. This allows these special key combinations to apply Windows shortcuts. Channels Now, different versions of Titan can view the same channel at the same time. Minimum Drop Time Titan doesn't check minimum drop time when nothing is on air. This was an unnecessary action so was removed. Duration An exception error was created when reading wrong or incomplete information for Play Duration and would default to zero. This error no longer occurs. Past Kill Date In previous versions, the Past Kill Date warning did not work as expected in the playlist. Switches Previously, Insert Switch did not update the switch title correctly. Now, the title updates when inserting a switch. Midnight In an earlier version, the first user action after midnight caused Titan to crash. This has been resolved Clock Previously, setting a Clock trigger did not send the OnAirNumber to ListProcessor. This works correctly now. Number In an earlier version an internal process comparing numbers did not always return the correct result. In this version, the comparison functions properly. Integer To limit using fractions, Titan assigns a whole Int. Number when appending to the list. In earlier versions, the Int. Number could be duplicated when Titan automatically rounded up. For example, was treated the same as Renumber Previously, Titan would freeze while processing RequireReNumber. In this version it no longer happens. Known Limitations This section provides information on known limitations that were not addressed in this release. Any available workaround procedures are also documented, when possible. 10

11 Button Box Note: For limitations related to compatibility of this release with previous versions/other products, see the section of this document entitled, Compatibility Issues. Crashing If the button box is not correctly set up, it crashes Titan Air when trying to start up Titan. Workaround: Correctly set up the device port. ListProcessor Port Number If the ListProcessor port is set to Zero, you cannot connect to LP. Workaround: Ensure the ListProcessor port is set to a non-zero number. Timeline Find in Timeline Find in Timeline does not center the item in the timeline perfectly. The further out you are from the current on air item the further off is centering. Workaround: After using the Find in Timeline function, slide the timeline to the left or right to find the marker for the element. Playlist Delete to Bottom After performing a delete to bottom, the playlist shows the top element of the playlist and not the current on-air item. Titan Sync Workaround: After using the Delete to Bottom function, click Center On Air. Resume Playback Resume Playback does not work on a system with Titan Sync. However, in a Primary-only setup this works. Workaround: Disable the backup playlist before using Resume Playback. After resuming, re-enable and synchronize with the backup. Not Ready for Air Embargo Date The Not Ready For Air status trumps the Embargo Date. If you enable both options and an event past its embargo date is also not ready for air, Titan only displays Not Ready for Air. Options Workaround: Avoid ha ving Embargo Date and Not ready for Air enabled at the same time. Negative Numbers The following options should only accept positive numbers: 11

12 Indicate items past kill date with a threshold of X Days Indicate items with traffic duration mismatch with threshold of x frames Elements in Timeline Ignore Gap/Overlap less than X A program time is greater than X Workaround: Use only positive numbers for these options.
