1 PART I: You will sign in to the Password Self-Service to retrieve your Office 365 account information and set up a new password. This can only be done on a school computer. 1. Double Click on the Password Self-Service link in the Novell Launcher or open Internet Explorer and type in 2. Enter your username (first 6 letters of your last name, followed by the first letter of your first name, the first letter of your middle name, and graduation year (ex:smithjl17). If you don t have a middle name, leave it blank. 3. Enter your birthday in the Password box in the following format: Mmm-DD-YYYY Passwords are case sensitive; you must capitalize the first letter of your birth month. You must enter two digits for the day and you must enter the dashes when typing in your password. Example: Nov You will now change your password. Passwords must be a minimum of eight characters long, contain an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, and a number. Please see the password rules on the next screen shot. You will CLICK HERE where indicated on the screen to change your password.
2 5. Click OK 6. Enter your current password (birth date in Mmm-DD- YYYY). Then create a password that meets the password requirements listed, you do not need a special character. READ THE PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS. Re-enter the password to confirm and click Change Password. 7. Click OK. Record your new Office 365 address and password in your phone or a notebook. 8. Log out of the Password Management System and close out of the Internet. Part II: Using Office 365
3 1. Open Internet Explorer and type in or click on the PWCS Student Office 365 icon in the Novell Launcher or click on the Office 365 link on OP s Homepage. 2. Enter your new address and password. DO NOT select the Keep me signed in checkbox. This checkbox should be selected on personal devices only. Click on the Sign in button. 3. Once signed on, you can install Office 2013 on your home computer by clicking the Install now. Do not click Install now on a school computer. Click on the Outlook link. 4. Set the language and time zone. Select English and Eastern Time zone (U.S. and Canada) and click Save. 5. You are now ready to use your Office 365 account. PART III: How to Compose and Send an .
4 1. Click on New Mail in the upper left corner of the screen. The form opens in the Reading Pane on the right. 2. On the To line, type the person s last name. Outlook will search for matches as the name is entered. If a match is found, select the person from the displayed list. If no match is found or the returned matches are not correct, search for the person under the People link 3. To add recipients to the Cc: line, follow the previous directions. 4. To add the Bcc line, click on the icon (three ellipses) at the top of the message form and click show BCC on the menu. 5. On the Subject line, type the subject of the message. This should be a short and concise description of the content. 6. To send the message, click SEND at the top of the message form. To save the message as a Draft to be sent at a later time, click on the icon and select save from the menu. The message will be saved in the Drafts folder and can be accessed from the folder list. 7. To discard the message without saving, click on DISCARD. Reading Pane PART IV: How to Access and Use OneDrive 1. Click on the OneDrive link

6 8. Click OK 9. Your OneDrive opens to your Documents and enables you to create, store, and collaborate. 10. Each student is asked to create a folder for each class and share that folder with his/her teacher. Click and select Folder. Name the folder using the following naming convention and click Save. P# Last Name, First Name, Subject Example: P1 Smith, Jamie English
7 11. Share the folder. Mouse over the folder and click the checkmark in front of the folder. In the Share window you will invite your teacher to share your folder by entering his/her name where indicated. Change Can edit to Can View. It is optional to include a personal message. Click Share. 12. Now anything you create or upload to that folder, your teacher will be able to view. When you have completed creating your folders, click on the person icon in the upper right hand corner and sign out
