3 1 Introduction Handelsbanken provides a file confirmation report in EDIFACT format Control message. The control message created by the Bank gives information whether a file in EDIFACT-format sent by the customer to the Bank has been accepted or rejected. The cause for rejection is stated as an error code in the report. This description complies with UN s Application level syntax rules (EDIFACT) Part 4 Syntax and service report message for batch EDI (message type - CONTRL). 4 2 History At Handelsbanken, changes to version numbers are made according to the following guidelines. The original version is The last digit is moved up a digit when the format descriptions are changed, for example text clarifications and examples. The second digit is moved up a digit if minor changes are made to the format such as new countries or changes in the payment type. The first digit is moved up a digit (thus becoming a completely new version) if the format changes mean that the customer will have to make adaptations in order to continue using the service. In this case, all customers affected are informed of the new version and what the changes involve.
