9 Overview Association of Global Standards Administrators Overview eroom was designed for: Finding the most up-to-date documentation regarding upcoming releases of UCCnet Reviewing meeting minutes and presentations from Industry meetings Staying current with UCCnet Copyright (c) 2003, The Association of Global Standards Administrators. All rights reserved. Instructor Note eroom is where you will go to find the most up-to-date documentation for both the UCC, UCCnet and for upcoming UCCnet releases. You can review meeting minutes and presentations from recent Industry meetings including the Hard lines industry Simply put, it is how you will stay current with what s new with UCCnet. Welcome This lesson provides a framework for eroom. The lesson concludes with practice problems and terminology commonly used in eroom. All rights reserved. eroom Login Screen The eroom URL is: Each company will be issued a single User ID, which will be a shared account for all within your company to use. The password will be provided to your company s contact person to distribute to everyone else within your company. These ID s can be merged with other Company ID for errom that you may have acquired over the years NOTE: You will not be able to merge your access from industry ERoom activities such as Hardlines or Guest user access Gaining Access to eroom Your Company s primary contact for UCCnet should have this ID for you have trouble accessing the eroom or need to regain you ID call the UCCnet Help Desk Page 6
11 UCCnet Support Center Contact Information: The UCCnet Support Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you with any UCCnet operation. You can also the Support Center at CustomerSupport@UCCnet.net Additional Notes on eroom Access Your Company s primary contact for UCCnet was set up for the eroom when your company registered for UCCnet. Additionally, your company s primary contact for UCC was set up for the UCC eroom when your company registered with the UCC for their company identifier. That is to say if you are using barcode in your business currently you have another eroom ID. These two ID s may not be the same, further there are frequent updates to both erooms, and notification go out to the primary contact with each change to the documents in each. Contact the UCC s Sandy Schwartz to make modifications to your ID s sop that all eroom notifications go to one user. Make that user a group distribution mailbox so that all of the messages go out to your entire team. This ensures continuity across you companies knowledge base and keeps your team informed about any changes to UCC, UCCnet and the GSMP process (also kept up to date in the UCC s eroom. Page 7

Student Notes When going into the eroom for the first time the user will be prompted with a choice of venue, either a browser based application or one that allows fluid interaction using a plug in Browser based is the better choice for the typical eroom user whereas the Plug in allows documents editing on your desktop which can then replace the existing documents ion eroom. The Plug in is generally used when interacting with a given process where the user has responsibility for a set of documents as when involved in group development projects such as the UAC, GSMP or other user groups that you may have volunteered for. All rights reserved. Viewing Your eroom This is the initial view once you log in. Your view may be different that that which is illustrated As a Trading Partner you may have access several rooms in eroom. Your eroom may appear differently than this one.. Each room will have its own system of organizing files and folders. Clicking on a room s icon will get you into the room. For example, the next slide will show you what would happen if you clicked into the Subscriber room. Page 9

All rights reserved. Student Note Point out that eroom is set up like most filing systems, where a single folder may contain additional folders or documents. Navigating the Subscriber Room The initial view of this room shows several folders. Each folder will contain files and/or other folders Clicking on a folder s icon will get you into the folder For example, the next slide shows you the contents of the v2.1 folder The training material we are working with today will be forwarded to the Training Material Folder It may also be available in the UAC eroom. All rights reserved. Student Notes - Note the following Navigation paths 1. Show the users that clicking on a document will open it. 2. Point out the difference between clicking on an icon vs. clicking on the name of the file. 3. Point out that the Red Flag next to the icon indicates an unread document 4. Point out the icon to go up a level (piece of paper with up arrow next to it) 5. Point out the Find button Looking into the v2.1 folder The v2.1 folder was set-up to keep UCCnet subscribers aware of new developments occurring in the release of v2.1 just last year As you can see, the v2.1 folder contains many documents and additional folders. If you are not sure where a document is located, the next slide will show you how to use the Search functionality. New Releases and Updates Page 11
16 Newer releases are generally kept in their own erooms. As releases are expected and them come to term information is added to the room. distribution to the user address which is associated with the eroom will receive all of the updates daily. For larger teams who are implementing UCCnet, This user ID should be modified to a distribution list inside of your company s system so that all team members are updated as changes occur in the eroom Page 12
