5 Setup for ISCorp On April 26th, 2016, ISCorp sent notification to our customers that the NAURU relay server would be decommissioned in autumn of this year. As of 09/11/16, that server no longer is operational. Your Skyward configuration is using a very old and deprecated mail server once supported by ISCorp but no longer a valid resource. You have two options. 1. Specify your own mail server in the Skyward application configuration to use as a mail relay for Skyward notifications. If you choose this option, you will need to create an account with rights to send mail on behalf of your mail server and enter the credentials in the Skyward configuration to authenticate and send You can use the ISCorp SMTP server to relay mail. If you choose this option, you will need to create an SPF record in your DNS to allow the ISCorp server to send mail on behalf of your domain. This is the string you will need in the SPF record: v=spf1 ip4: all. If you already have an SPF record with other entries, you will need to add this entry. If you choose this option, you will need to notify me when the SPF record has been updated so ISCorp can validate the record and reconfigure your Skyward application for use with this resource.

6 Setup, Message Center, and Gmail/Office 365 Information Gmail/Office 365 must send using a valid account There are restrictions on how many s can be sent in a rolling 24-hour period per account The From address is the address that will show in History queues in Skyward. The User and Password is the actual account that will be used to authenticate to Gmail/Office 365 and will be the From address on the actual that is sent to the recipient, unless..each end user authorizes the ability to send as their account.

7 Internal vs. External Attachment Storage Pros of external attachment storage No Database growth for attachments Large databases become harder to work with (backup, restore, database utilities all take longer) Large databases are difficult to send to skyward using ftp Cons of external attachment storage Attachments are external and must be backed up separately Second copy of attachments might be needed for training databases PaC users need read/write to the external attachment folder Note: Course Learning Center attachment area has a choice of where attachments are stored; same as database attachments or external to db if db is set to internal storage.

8 Setup of External Attachments 1. Setup attachment storage share (PS/SA/DM/DS) 2. Setup rights to the storage share, including Skyward Service Account 3. Setup Skyward Services to run as Skyward Service Account 4. Configure external storage UNC path 5. Export existing attachments

10 Course Learning Center Cloud Storage for Staff and Students Attachments can be added from teacher s cloud drives. As of Feb 2015 Add 2, student can turn in assignments from their cloud storage. We make a copy and assign it to the teacher so no editing can be done after hand-in.

11 Course Learning Center As of June 2015 Release, there is a redirect option in Google Drive for teachers where they can indicate Send Hand-In if they want it to be stored in their Google Drive. The default option is to store it according to the Course Learning setup. Dropbox and OneDrive does not have this option.

Enter a Location as UNC path in Import or Export Interface The Import From or the Export To folder on a remote server: Needs to Be a UNC Share Be accessible by/from the Skyward Report Queue server A Skyward Service Admin Account needs to be a local user on both servers The Skyward Service Admin Account needs to have rights to UNC Share All Skyward Services must use the Skyward Service Account as the Logon account

17 How do Users get to Exported Files? Let s understand the process. Scheduled Task runs. Exported file gets created in folder location. PDF Report gets created in District Print Queue Exports can be scheduled to run once or many times per day Scheduled Task for once and Monitor Tasks for many. User can view the PDF Report in the Print Queue but can they get to the Share to view the actual file that gets created Most, if not all users, will not be able to No way of searching for the file from Skyward software Exports are typically for 3 rd party systems, does a user really need to see the contents of the exported file?

18 Do you need to keep the export in the Database? If the answer is yes and the user needs to see the contents of the exported file, check the Save Exported File in Database to View through the Export File Viewer. If the answer is no, do not check this box to Save the file in the database. Once the file contents is part of the database it is always a part of the database. Keeping them in the database might cause a lot of growth to the database.

You've probably seen them colorful images with distorted text at the bottom of Web registration forms. CAPTCHAs are used by many websites to prevent abuse from "bots," or automated programs usually written to generate spam. No computer program can read distorted text as well as humans can, so bots cannot navigate sites protected by CAPTCHAs.

32 Skyward Mobile Access The Skyward Mobile Apps are being updated to compare if the product is activated in the software and it the Allow Mobile box is checked on the customer record at Skyward. If both are not checked, then users will not be allowed to use the product.
