3 1. Registration and access data 1.1 I am already an SNSF applicant. Will I receive the access data for mysnf automatically? If you wish to receive an account for mysnf you must register as a new user, even if you are already an applicant of SNSF. Otherwise it is impossible to allocate an account to you. 1.2 I have submitted an application via mysnf earlier. Can I use the same access data to submit another application? Yes, your access data for mysnf remain valid until you request new ones. 1.3 I have reviewed applications for SNSF via mysnf. Do I still have to register to submit my own application? Yes, you do. Please register for mysnf as an applicant. 1.4 I have registered several days ago. However, to date I have not received the access data (password and TAN-list). User registration for mysnf must be confirmed with a click on the link you receive by e- mail after registration. If you have clicked the link and still not received the access data, please contact mysnf support by mysnf.support@snf.ch or by phone ( for German, for French and for English). 1.5 When I confirm the user registration, the link directs me back to the registration form again. The link in the user registration may have been broken by a line break. In this case, the invalid link leads you automatically back to registration. This problem can be solved by removing the line break in the link. 1.6 Is it possible to receive the access data by instead of surface mail? For security reasons access data must be sent by surface mail. However, if you need them very urgently, please contact mysnf support by mysnf.support@snf.ch or by phone ( for German, for French and for English). 1.7 Because of my absence I would like the access data to be sent to a different address. 4 1.8 I have opened an account in my name and would now like to transfer this to another person. Is this possible? Unfortunately this is not possible. A new account has to be opened for the other person. 1.9 I have forgotten my password. What should I do? On the log-in page of mysnf, new access data can be requested with the button Request for new login. You ll receive new access data by within 24 hours on weekdays How important is it to register a user account with the correct SNSF division? For better processing, it is helpful to register an account with the division in which you wish to submit your first mysnf application. Basically though, all funding instruments remain open to you, independently of the division in which you originally registered your account My address is incorrect and should be amended. Personal data can be amended on-line on the website The changes will be checked by SNSF and transferred to the database. FAQ mysnf 4

5 2. Electronic application 2.1 How can I let other persons access and work on my application? After having created your application on mysnf you ll find a button Authorisation administration at the bottom of the site. There you can invite other mysnf users to work on your application. Please note that only the responsible applicant can finally submit the application. 2.2 How can I use a previous application as a template for a new one? When you create a new application, a list of your previous applications is displayed. You can choose one of them as a template. Before proceeding, please do revise the transferred data in every section and note that uploaded documents such as the research plan or CVs are not transferred from previous applications. 2.3 My project has a duration of three years, but only one column for one year is displayed in the section Requested positions, salaries and social security contributions. Please check the duration of your project in the section Basic data I. This entry governs the number of columns in other sections. 2.4 In the sections Requested positions " and Requested funding the last few months of my project are omitted. Project funding is not accounted for in calendar years, but in accounting periods according to the following table: Project duration Accounting periods (number of columns) Up to 18 months 1 19 to 30 months 2 31 to 40 months 3 41 months or more 4 Please add the requested funding for the last months of your project to the last accounting period displayed. 6 2.5 Greek letters are not accepted in the summary in the section Basic data II." " is changed to "a". Since the summary is formatted in HTML, some special characters are not accepted. Please include a correct version of the summary in the scientific part, i.e. the research plan of your application. 2.6 I have problems generating a pdf document. Please consult the document Formatting a document as PDF, which can be found on the site I would like to change documents of a submitted application retrospectively. Basically, this is possible within a certain time frame. Please contact directly the SNSF division responsible for your application. 2.8 I submitted my application electronically but have not received an with the form that I have to sign and return within 5 days.
