1 LOOMIS EXPRESS HOW TO IMPORT THE E-BILL LOOMIS ( ) Technical Support Hotline HOW TO IMPORT THE E-BILL INTO EXCEL Thank you for choosing Loomis Express as your domestic shipping provider! Now that you have received your first electronic bill (e-bill) from Loomis Express, the following will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to import it into a spreadsheet program such as Excel. BEFORE BEGIN! IF YOU RECEIVE E-BILLING BY 1. Your e-bill will be a delimited text attachment that begins with the letter `E or the letter `S. 2. The sender address will be ebilling@loomisexpress.com. 3. Ensure you save the text attachment to your computer. 4. Once you do that, proceed to page 2 of this tutorial. IF YOU DOWNLOAD YOUR E-BILLS FROM THE WEBSITE: Unlike the ed version of the e-bill files, each delimited text file on the website is coded by a date. 1. Select the desired date and download. (To download, make sure you: Right Click, choose `Save Target As and select a directory on your computer where the e-bill file will be saved.) 2. Once your e-bill is saved to your computer, proceed to page 2 to import the e-bill into Excel, or try the Alternative Import Method on page 6.

2 STEP 1 Open Excel. STEP 2 In the top left corner, click on FILE then OPEN. STEP 3 After Selecting Open, makes sure Files of Type pull down bar is changed to `All Files. After doing this, you will be able to find your e-bill. Make sure you search in the directory you saved the e-bill file to. Once you find it, click OPEN. STEP 5 This is Step 2 of 3 of the Text Import Wizard. In this step, Check the Comma Box. You can leave the Tab box checked as well. Then click Finish. You don t need Step 3 of 3. STEP 4 You should see the TEXT IMPORT FILE WIZARD 1 of 3. In this step, click on Delimited. Then click Next. This is Step 2 of 3 of the Text Import Wizard. In this step, Check the Comma Box. You can leave the Tab box checked as well. Then click Finish. You don t need Step 3 of 3.

3 The E-Bill has been successfully divided into column. STEP 7 The first row of the header you will need to paste in your e-bill. Select the entire first row and copy it by either using CTRL-C or the copy button on the top of Excel. STEP 6 There is a header file that was sent via called le_ebillexpress_header.xls or le_ebillstandard_header. xls (depending on the format you chose.) Locate that file and Open it in Excel. (Double clicking on le_ ebillexpress_header.xls or le_ebillstandard_header.xls is fine as well to open it in Excel.) STEP 8 Go back to the e-bill you just imported into Excel and Paste the header into the first row of the e-bill. The best way to do this is to highlight the entire first row of the e-bill, Right Click on the Mouse, and select `Insert Copied Cells.

4 The E-Bill has been successfully imported into Excel. Once it becomes.csv, double click on the file and it will auto-import into Excel. You ll notice that the icon becomes green, indicating it is now compatible for Excel. ALTERNATE IMPORT METHOD If you have your Window s system configured to display file extensions, you can simply change the.txt file extension to.csv. Right Click on the e-bill file and select Rename. Change the 3 characters to the right of the period to CSV, then click YES. IMPORTANT NOTE When you change the file extension, there is the potential for the data to skew and not separate properly in Excel. If this happens, change the file extension back to.txt and import it into Excel use the tutorial starting on Page 2.
