1 A guide to booking your IELTS Test In this guide we ll take you step by step through booking your IELTS test using the British Council s new and improved registration portal. Step 1: Select the IELTS module you would like to take.

2 Step 2: Using the drop down menu, select the country you would like to take your test in. Step 3: Let us know if you need any special arrangements on the day by selecting No or Yes. If you would like to know more about how we support special requirements, click on Read about how we can help you. Step 4: Select the month you would sit the IELTS Test. Step 5: Click on choose location, and then select the location from the drop down list.

3 Step 6: Tick the location you would like to sit for the test. Note you can choose more than one. Now click on search for tests. Note: at this stage you can go back and change your country or dates if you are not happy with what you see. Just click on: Change country or dates. Step 7: A pop up window will appear displaying available Test dates. You can select by date or location. Click on the Test date you would like to choose. A pop up window will appear displaying the chosen venue where the Test will take place (this may not be applicable to all countries). Select Book test

4 Step 8: You will now see a pop up window showing: Your chosen type of Test The fee for the Test The Test date The Test venue Next you need to choose your Speaking Test. Step 9: You will now see available Speaking Tests.

5 Select a suitable Speaking Test date for you and click on Continue booking. Please note: You can go back and change the date of Written Test if you are not happy with what you see. Just click on: Change date of written test. Step 10: You will now get a pop up to log into the Test Taker portal. If you have an account, enter your username and password. If you don t, click on I m not registered to set up an account.

6 To set up your account, enter your details. You must also create a password. Please note: you must be at least 18 years old to set up an account. Select your marketing preferences, read the terms and conditions, and click on I agree. Then press the blue button to register. Step 11: You are now able to log into the account. Note: The timer as now started. This indicates the amount of time you have to complete the transaction for the dates chosen. You are given 25 minutes to complete your registration.

7 You will now see the Test dates and location you have already selected. Step 12: Click on book test to continue. Step 13: Select who you are booking the test for.

8 Step 14: You will notice that your details are automatically populated. Step 15: Fill in your address details and click Add ID.

9 Step 16: Enter your ID details and click on Add additional details. Step 17: Select your gender.

10 Step 18: Fill in the information required about your nationality and education. Then click on Add additional details. Step 19: Fill in the information required about your occupation. Then click on Add additional details.

11 Step 20: Select why you are taking the IELTS Test from the drop down menu. Then click Add receiving organisation. Step 21: At this stage you can add a receiving organisation to send your results to. This is an optional step and you can choose to this at a later date. Choose your option and click on Review my application.

12 Step 22: Review your application and ensure the details are correct. Step 23: Check the remaining information. If correct, click on the IELTS terms and conditions and accept them to continue. Then click on Payment.

13 Step 24: The fee for your Test will be displayed. Select who you would like the invoice to be sent to and enter the details.

14 Step 25: Select your method of payment. If you select pay online, you ll be taken to a secure payment site. Fill in your credit card details and click on pay.

15 Alternatively, you can select pay another way. You can arrange to pay by bank transfer. Note: on the payslip ensure you include the following information: Full name of the candidate Exams date IELTS reference number Once the payment has been received by either online payment or bank transfer, you will receive an confirmation of your registration for IELTS.
