Outlook Anywheree enables you to access your work mailboxx (or any other mailbox within your organisation) for online or offline work from anywhere, even without being connected to the internet. Your mailbox is added to your personal Microsoft Outlook, and , calendar, contacts and taskss are thus available out-of-office. Requirements Important You need your own notebook or personal computer with an installed copy of Microsoft Out- look, as well as an internet connection too set up Outlook Anywhere. Do not install Outlook Anywhere on any public computer, or any computer over which you do not have full control. By installing Outlook Anywhere you create a local copy of your mailbox for offline work, through which all your data is stored locallyy on the computer. This manual only applies to your own notebook or personal computer. You can only have one single Exchange account in Microsoft Outlook. O You can have several private accounts such as GMX or Bluewin, however. Always cluding keep your computer up-to-date with patches and appropriate security software, in- daily updates of your virus signatures.

2 Setup 1. Open the Control Panel in the start menu. 2. Open Mail. 3. Click on Accounts. 2

3 4. Check in the tab whether there is already a Microsoft Exchange account set up in your Outlook. If so, Outlook Anywhere cannot be installed. In this case, please contact our Service Desk. If there is no account installed, click onn New to add an Exchange account. 5. Select Microsoft Exchange and click Next. 3

4 6. Tick Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next. 7. Enter srk-cas-array.srk-intranet.ch into the field Microsoft Exchange server. Be- low, enter your account username. Then click More Settings 4

5 8. The tabs General, Advanced andd Security do not needd to be altered. Below are the standard values for these options. Click on the tab Connection. 5

6 9. Tick Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP at the t bottom. Then click Ex- change Proxy Settings 10. Enter the following address wheree it says owa1.redcrossnet.ch. At the bottom, select Negotiate Authentication. Click OK. O 11. Click OK again. 6

7 12. Click Check Name 13. A login box appears. Type your details in the form of SRKDOMAIN\usernamee (e.g. SRKDOMAIN\bruc) and your password in the appropriate fields. 14. Now your username should appear with a comma and underlined. u If not, click Check Name again and repeat the previous step. Otherwise click Next. 7

8 15. The setup of the account is now finished. Click Finish too start usingg your mailbox in Outlook. Using Outlook Anywhere Open Microsoft Outlook. You will be asked to authenticate. A local copy off your mailbox is set up. Depending on the size of your mailbox and the speed off your internet connection, this can take several minutes. If you see the dialogue below,, click No. 8

9 Your mailbox is now ready to use. The status bar shows whether you are online or offline. Working offline You can now work with Outlook without being connected to the internet. The status bar shows when the local copy of your mailbox has last been updated. Update While you are connected to the internet, you can update the local copy of your mailbox by clicking Send/Receive.
