1 Point of Sale Analytics POS Analytics Website Guide Retailers are counting on suppliers to understand and help manage their own products performance at the store level. To enable this, an increasing number of retailers provide Point of Sale (POS) data to vendors so that these vendors can perform their own analysis and help retailers make better decisions. Learn how to make the most of the services available to you with SPS Commerce, starting with the POS Analytics Website. LOGIN To begin using SPS Commerce Point of Sale (POS) Analytics solutions, you must first be set up as a user on the POS Analytics website. Contact your organization s administrator for sign-in credentials. If you are unsure who your organization s administrator is, call us at x4 and we ll be happy to assist. Once your administrator has set you up in our system an will arrive with your credentials. The will look similar to this example. Once you receive this the link will bring you to the login page, as seen on the next page. Click on Customer Login P Upper Pond Road, 3rd Floor Parsippany, NJ spscommerce.com

2 For security purposes and for your convenience, we ask you to change your password upon first login. After you successfully change your password you ll receive confirmation. You may then access your POS Analytics solutions via the My Reports or Enterprise tabs. Enter your and temporary password. You only need to do this the first time you sign on, or anytime your administrator resets your password. Select a security question to help recover a forgotten password. 2

3 If you forget your password, you may request a reset from the login page. Your administrator can reset your password if you forget it, or if your account becomes locked. The POS Analytics website is designed to ensure that your data is secure at all times. An account may be locked if someone attempts to sign in unsuccessfully three times. An administrator can also manually lock accounts to restrict access. 4 MY REPORTS My Reports is your homepage and the central console for accessing your reports. To access any of the reports, simply click on the report name. Double left click on the report name to download the.zip file for your report. Click on the My Reports tab to access your weekly reporting Your report is delivered in a zipped file. A dialogue box will appear asking you if you would like to Save or Open the report. Choose whichever option you prefer. Double click on the report name within the Winzip application to open the report in Excel. You may also drag the file from the zipped folder to your desktop and then double left click for access. WEEK-ENDING DATE SPS Commerce stores your weekly sales and inventory data and historical reports are available per your contracted historical terms. Please note, dashboards are always as of the current week-ending date and not available for historical download. To access historical Excel Pivot Table reports, click on the Calendar button in the top gray menu bar and select any of the Saturday week-ending dates in blue text. Click on the date to select a different week-ending date from the calendar dropdown. Use the drop down month/year and forward >> and back << icons to select a week-ending date. Available dates are Saturday s in blue text 4

5 TRAINING Make the most of your POS Analytics. Click on the Training tab to register for live instructor-led web sessions and to view a variety of training resources. Click the Training Tab. Click on the links of the left side navigation pane to access available training resources. ON-DEMAND VIDEOS Click View Video to access web-based videos. Where applicable, click the list icon videos to view topics of interest. within LIVE WEB SEMINARS Join free public sessions hosted via GoToTraining covering a broad range of topics from Excel functionality (basic through advanced), to detailed instruction on what to look for in your report analysis. Click the Sign Up icon to register. PRIVATE SESSIONS Private, fee-based sessions teach you how to use various tools to perform detailed POS-based retail analysis with your actual reports. Our training specialists work with you to design a customized training agenda to accommodate any size group. On-site sessions can be held in either your office or at the SPS Commerce Business Analytics office. Complete the provided form from and click Send Request or POSTraining@SPSCommerce.com to schedule your private session. RESOURCES & GUIDES We offer guides and quick-reference materials for download by solution. Click the Download links for resources of interest. 5

6 Administration Only Administrators have this option The Administration tab provides your organization with control around data and report permissions. Your administrators can feel confident that the right data is getting to the right people. MY PROFILE My Profile contains your contact information and your permission settings. You have the ability to modify your contact information as you wish. You cannot however change your User Type or Permission Settings unless you are an administrator. Click on My Profile to change your contact information MANAGE USERS The Manage Users page provides administrators with a total picture of all the users that they administer. Click on your name to view users under your administration. Click on Manage Users under the Administration tab. 6

7 The Manage Users screen also allows you to delete, add and modify users: ADDING A NEW USER AND EDITING AN EXISTING USER If you are an administrator, you may add a new user and edit existing users contact information and report access permissions. First click on your hyperlinked username to view the users under your administration. Edit User Pencil Icon Add User Button ADD A USER To add a user, click the Add User button that appears at the bottom of the screen. Password Reset Padlock Icon EDIT A USER To edit the contact information or report and data access permissions for a user, simply click on the pencil icon to the right of the user name. Delete User X Icon SAVE AND RESET USER S PASSWORD Users will occasionally misplace or lose their password for the POS Analytics website. In this case all you need to do is click the Save and Reset User s Password button. Upon doing this, the user s password will be reset and they will receive a notification with their new temporary password. Upon their first sign in they will be asked to reset their password. LOCK/UNLOCK A USER To lock or unlock a user from accessing the system, click on pencil icon to the right of the user name to edit the user. Check the box at the lower left side under user status to lock the user. Uncheck the box to unlock the user. DELETE A USER To delete a user, simply click the red X icon right of the user name. 7

8 CONTACT INFORMATION This area contains fields that store a user s contact information. Several fields such as User , First Name, Last Name, and Title are required fields. This section is where administrators can grant access to the retailers and product groups a user can access. Use the selection boxes to grant access to the desired access levels. Move over any or all retailers for a user. Module options may include Dashboards or Enterprise if applicable. Designate access with the radio button. Click User to setup a user under your administration Custom Permissions security area Notice there are options for All Retailers and All Product Groups. When you select this level of access you are granting the rights to all retailers and product groups that are currently in the system and any new retailers and product groups that are brought up on the system in the future. CUSTOM PERMISSIONS In addition to the standard report and data access permissions which are based on retailers and product groups, SPS Commerce offers an additional layer of security to ensure that your information is delivered to only the appropriate users. This next level is classified as custom and includes all reports and data sources that fall outside of the standard retailer and product groups report and data access permissions. 8
