11 Carousel Module Collections Editor User Interface The Carousel Module is designed to display images of books (covers), equipment, rooms, consumable inventory, etc. anything that you would like patrons to view easily through SNAP. Note: the above image is the Expanded Image Carousel Module in Series-M 7

12 Note: below is SNAP featuring the Expanded Image Carousel The Image Carousel Module (ICM) is available in two models: Basic and Expanded and either can be set to rotate automatically or be advanced manually. Images are clickable, which will open to the corresponding SNAP record. Note: The Basic Image Carousel Module (BICM) is available to Series-M / SNAP System customers at no charge. 8

13 Holds / Reserves Series-M Main Menu featuring Circ Module Holds / Reserves User Interface Holds (Reserves) is designed to allow a patron to place a hold on a book that is not currently on the shelf (available). By placing the book on hold it is reserved for the patron and will be held for them to be picked-up or delivered when it s returned to the library / center. Series-M produces a report each day that lists the titles on hold and patrons who are next in line to receive them. 9

14 Container Module Container System User Interface The screen below displays the 10 books (items) that are linked to the container referenced above. In the example provided below, the Containers Module is being used for the off-site storage of books. 10

15 To make the maximum use of space, some libraries have chosen to move their books to a long-term storage facility. Books are sorted by size and stored in trays. Each tray is given a unique barcode to which the item barcodes are tied. The trays are then sent to the long-term storage facility, where the tray barcode will be tied to the shelf barcode. Please note: the photos are for illustrative purposes only. 11

16 Dubs Dubs User Interface Series-M s Dubs program provides an easy method for creating temporary copies to assist with high-demand. Example: Pod cast on ipods 12

17 EConf User Order Confirmation Series-M s Econf system provides users with 2 order confirmation options. If they have an address in their user record, the system will generate confirmations and other related notices as s. Outlook users will have the additional option of placing s from Series-M into their Outlook Calendar. If they do not want s or if they do not have an address, they will have the option of printing a hard copy in real time. Also, the system will provide hard copies, too. 13

18 E-Signature Signature Capture User Interface Signature File Compare Capture user Signature Electronically: Series-M stores the first capture, as indicated above. The next time a user signs the LCD touchpad, E-Signature displays the signature on screen in the compare box. LCD touchpad and stylus 14

19 Fee Processing Fee Processing User Interface The Fee Processing Module provides a way to charge for services, materials and other related costs. It automatically sub-totals and then totals all line items. All the entered information can be edited and then exported to any program that accepts an XML formatted file. 15

20 Google Look-up Google Look-up User Interface Use Google Look-up to search for book covers (art-work) and related catalog information. Any field in Series-M s Title, Catalog and Inventory records that is equipped with an arrow image is automatically filled in with the appropriate information. A very useful feature when adding new book titles to Series-M. Note: requires Google Book Account 16

22 Groups Series-M Groups Admin Interface SNAP Groups Admin Interface SNAP s Groups Admin Interface provides several methods to control access. By District or Building and by User Series-M s Groups Admin also provides several methods to control access: It can be by Resource, by Location or by User. In the example provided at the top of the screen the User Record is configured with 11 Custom Groups. This particular user is allowed access to 3 of those Groups. A user can be a participant in SOME or ALL Groups. 18

24 Hourly Scheduling Hourly Orders User Interface Hourly Orders is designed to book requests by Date and Time. Book items, rooms, meetings, equipment, etc. down to the minute. The Requests for section displays provides the following features: Packing together items wanted on the same date and time. Recurring Orders - requests for the same data and time through-out a semester, quarter, etc. Fee Processing - charging for services, purchases, etc. Creating a Work Order 20

25 ID Card Reader ID Card Reader User Interface Card swipe technology provides a fast and secure method to facilitate Series-M s Checkout and / or Booking functions. When an ID Card is swiped, the system verifies whether or not an account exists in Series-M that matches the card. The entire process takes milliseconds and does not require any inter-action from an operator. Reader with card 21

26 ISBN Import ISBN Look-up User Interface Simply key-in or scan the book s ISBN number and Series-M s ISBN Import does the rest. It is a fast and efficient tool for finding cataloging data for book records. In addition to locating cataloging data, it also retrieves the book cover image, too. The above example shows the finished results. 22

27 LDAP / AD Active Directory Interface User Interface The above example is an actual image of a SNAP System that uses LDAP / Active Directory for its user authentication / login. 23

28 Marc Record Import Marc Import User Interface Series-M s Marc Record Import Module is designed to import standard USMARC Records. It can also be configured to import variations of the standard format. The system is built to be used interactively and / or in a batch processing mode. As indicated above, the system looks for and extracts key information from the imported records. At the end of each import the system allows the operator to review all of the results. 24

30 Patron Booking Patron Booking Interface SNAP provides a Patron Booking Interface that allows users to browse the resource center s holdings online from anywhere and from any device. Additionally, the system provides the following functions: Place Orders by Time and Date Place Holds Review Existing Orders Review Past Orders Batch Reorder Extend Items Cancel Orders Create Lists Share Lists Stream Video Edit Account (User Profile) And more! 26

31 PDF BARS PDF BARS Admin Interface Series-M s PDF BARS provides an additional layer of flexibility by creating a PDF formatted bar code and then allowing the label to be printed on any selected / network printer. 27

32 Recurring Order Recurring Orders User Interface Below: confirmation of orders based upon selected dates This module is designed to replicate an order so that it is booked for the Same Time and Date and for an Extended Period. Example: teacher books equipment for a class that meets for an hour every Tuesday for the entire semester. This class session begins on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 and ends on March 28 th, Note: use to book the rooms, too. 28

33 Single Sign On (SSO) Login Bypass Single Sign On User Interface A user has three User Name options: > FI Last Name > address >account number Now the user is loggedin to all of the listed / available services With SNAP s SSO an authenticated user is able to link to protected digital resources in another application with the correct identity and without encountering a second login prompt. 29

34 In the example below the user has entered a search term, Obama, and SNAP has returned over 3,000 results from 6 different sources. Based upon the user s credentials, they are allowed access to any of the sources by simply clicking on the link provided. In this example they have selected a record (video) produced by NBC Learn. Click here SNAP opens up another browser session to NBC Learn. Meanwhile SNAP is still running in the background. The user does not have to login to NBC learn SNAP s SSO has worked its magic. Now they can explore NBC Learn for as long as they would like. When finished visiting NBC Learn the user simply logs out and will be returned to SNAP to continue searching, etc. 30

35 Scheduled Scheduled Items User Interface The Scheduled Items Module is designed to display all of today s activity deliveries and pick-ups. In some cases it can be used to replace the old-fashioned clip board. Go Green! Instead of printing a listing of today s work, simply post it electronically on a dedicated flat-screen. 31

36 SRU (Search and Retrieve via URL) SRU User Interface Series-M s SRU Module is designed to query other library databases. SRU is a web-based information retrieval protocol designed by a consortium under the guidance of the Library of Congress as a successor to the older protocol, Z SRU provides a means for expressing search requests and getting back results in a well-defined XML format. SM s SRU system provides the option of saving the search results and, if required, will import them into Series-M. Series-M s SRU works with any external system that permits SRU queries: For example: Library of Congress WorldCat etc. 32

37 Consumable Stock Management Stock Management User Interface Series-M s Stock Management system is designed for inventory (consumable items) that are shipped out but not expected to be returned. Example: lamps, paper, batteries, etc. The system keeps you informed with what's On Hand, On Order and also notifies you when it's Time to Replenish stock. Each day it generates a Restock List report. 33

38 Subscriber Module Subscriber Lists User Interface Series-M s Subscriber List Module automatically process subscription based orders for periodicals, books, etc. It creates and maintains lists of users for subscribed resources. A subscribed resource will be booked to those users as the resource becomes available. The above screen displays a sample subscription list that also includes subscribers. 34

39 Universal Player System (UPS) Video Playback User Interface SNAP s UPS is designed to support any standard video format. It also provides the user with several useful features that are a part of its interface. In addition to standard player controls, UPS includes clickable tabs.
