Cause Using webmail, but not set up in Sage. Sage and Outlook are not running at the same security level. Resolution Note: Test Outlook to make sure is it working properly before trying the troubleshooting steps below. To test, right-click an empty space on the desktop, select New, and then Text Document. Press Enter on keyboard. Right-click the New Text Document, select Send to, and then select Mail recipient. If the Outlook window does not pop up, then something is wrong with the Outlook program, and has nothing to do with Sage. They will need their IT to look at the issue or call Microsoft (Uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook may fix the issue). Section I: If Using Webmail 1. Select Setup from the Maintain menu, or click Edit Setup button from the System navigation window. 2. Click Use a webmail account, and then click link Add account information. 3. Select the type of service and enter the address (Outlook.com, Gmail and Yahoo are mostly predefined). If you select Other, you will also need to provide the SMTP server and the SMTP port. 4. If you are setting up either a Gmail or a Yahoo account, you will also have to configure the accounts to allow less secure applications. Otherwise, s sent through the account via Sage will be blocked; refer to Article ID 78524: "Error: "An unknown error occurred connecting to the SMTP server..."" in the Related resources section for more information. 5. After the account is defined, use the Edit and Remove hyperlinks to make changes. Section II: If using a MAPI Compliant Program Option I: Verify compatible program Follow Article ID 10744: "Compatible programs" in Related resources to verify that your program is compatible with your version of Sage. Option II: Verify the program is activated Verify your program is activated. For further questions regarding program activation, consult with the provider of your program or an IT professional. Option III: Verify address is properly formatted

3 3 of 5 3/1/2018, 11:31 AM 1. Select Maintain, and then select Customers/Prospects. 2. Select the desired customer. 3. Ensure the address is properly formatted. Note: Having more than one address with a space or commas can cause the error when batch ing. This occurs when using the option not to see each before it is sent. It is recommended to only have one address on the customer record. Option IV: Run both Sage and the program with the same elevation under UAC (User Account Control) Note: In order to successfully pass the attachment to the program, either both need to run without Administrative rights, or both with. If Sage 50 is running with administrative rights and the program is not, closing the program will allow Sage 50 to pass on those rights when it calls up the program. The important thing is they both need to be the same. 1. Close both Sage and the program. 2. Right-click Sage icon, and then select Properties. 3. Select Compatibility Tab, and then select Change settings for all users box. 4. Select Run this program as Administrator box, and then click Apply and/or OK. 5. Repeat steps 2-4 for your program icon. If your program is Outlook and you do not have a Run this program as Administrator box, then skip to Option V 6. Open Sage and the program. 7. Verify you are now able to without error. Option V: Run Microsoft Outlook as Administrator 1. Browse to the directory for the Outlook installation 2. Right-click the executable for the program 3. Select Properties 4. Click the Advanced button 5. Select the box to Run as administrator 6. Depending on the version of Outlook and how it was installed, you may not have a Compatibility tab. In this case, right-click the executable and select Troubleshoot Compatibility. 7. Select The program needs additional permissions and click through the wizard and finish. This should set the Run as Administrator flag internally if the properties does not have a Compatibility tab. Option VI: Uninstall/Reinstall Writer 1. Close Sage. 2. Press WINDOWS+R keys. 3. Type Control, and then click OK. 4. Select Devices and Printers. 5. Right-click Sage 50 Writer v2, and then select Remove Device. 6. Also remove any other Peachtree or Sage Writers found. 7. Click any available printer.

4 4 of 5 3/1/2018, 11:31 AM 8. Select Print server properties at the top of the Devices and Printers screen. 9. Select Drivers tab. 10. Select Amyuni Document Converter Click Remove. 12. Select Remove driver and driver package. 13. Click OK. 14. Go back to Print Server Properties. 15. Select Drivers tab. 16. Select Amyuni Document Converter 300 or 500 (if present). 17. Select Remove driver and driver package. 18. Click OK. 19. Run Repair; refer to Article ID 10602: "How to run Repair" in Related resources. 20. Press WINDOWS+R keys. 21. Type Control, and then click OK 22. Select Devices and Printers. 23. In Devices and Printers right-click Sage 50 Writer v2, and then select Printer properties. 24. Click Ports tab, and then click Add Port button. 25. Select Local Port, and then click New Port button. 26. Enter PDF1 as the port name, and then click OK. 27. Select Advanced tab. 28. Select Enable advanced printing features box. 29. Select Print directly to the printer. 30. Click Apply, and then click Close. 31. Reboot computer. 32. Verify you are able to with no error. Option VII: Damaged Windows Profile Note: These steps should be performed by your computer professional. 1. Create a new Windows user profile on the computer. 2. Verify the process works under the new profile. 3. Set up the account under the new user profile. Option VIII: Error occurs after installing the Windows 10 Fall Creators update Note: These steps should be performed by your computer professional. How to run Repair Additional information If the program is being accessed by remote connection, log out of Windows profile on program hosting machine, logging out of remote.
