Substitutes Needed! The Goffstown and New Boston School Districts are currently looking for substitutes. Experience working with children is preferred but not required. The SAU offers all substitutes online training to prepare you for the role. The online training course includes training in classroom management, teaching strategies, planning, and other instructional skills and procedures. We are also pleased to announce that the substitute rate of pay has been increased for the school year from $75 to $80 per day for certified substitutes and $65 to $70 per day for uncertified substitutes. After working 20 days as a substitute in either of our districts the rate of pay increases in the next full payroll cycle to $100 per day for certified subs and $80 per day for uncertified subs. Vision Screenings Free Popcorn During the week of October 22, volunteers from the Goffstown Lions Club will be conducting vision screenings using the SPOT Vision Screener. Please refer to the attached letter from our school nurse, Mrs. Belter, regarding this screening. Community News Each week, a classroom will be selected to receive free popcorn for every student in the class. Thank you to the PFT for providing this for our students! AUDITIONS FOR GOFFSTOWN HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ART PROGRAM S Children s Nutcracker will be held on Tuesday, October 23 rd from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Hieber Auditorium at Goffstown High School. Girls and boys in grades 1-5 are welcome to audition. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 beginning October 30 and performances will be November 30 th at 7:00 pm and December 1 st at 4:00 and 7:00 pm. Participation Fee: $65 (limited scholarships available). It is a quick and noninvasive way to complete a basic vision screening. Shortly following the screening, parents/guardians will receive a detailed report with the vision results.
