Items sold will be teddy bears and monkeys with small box of candy or lollipop price will be $5.00 each. Items purchased will be delivered on Valentine s Day to your child s classroom. Counselor Appreciation Week February 3-7. Reminder to parents no outside deliveries will be accepted or delivered to students on Valentine s Day. Benefit Chicken & Sausage plate fundraiser for our Health Aide Nurse Connie Blaylock will be held Saturday, February 1st from 11:00 am-2:00 pm. You can still purchase tickets from teachers and staff or stop by the office tickets are $6.00. Funds raised will go to Mrs. Blaylock and unexpected medical expenses. 8th grade class will be selling pizza, sodas, candies and chips after school February th grade will be selling Valentine treats from February after school. Valentine s Daycare. Enjoy a few hours celebrating while your kids enjoy holiday themed activities. Where: IDEA San Benito Gymnasium When: Feb. 14th, 6-10 pm. Cost is $20.00 per child, with $5.00 taken off for each additional sibling. All proceeds will go towards 8th grade field lesson to New Orleans. Box Top collections is still continuing, Please support our school by sending in your Box Tops to your homeroom teachers, please be sure to include your Name & Grade. Next deadline is February 14 in order to mail out for the March 1, 2014

2 submission. Awards will be given out for the Top earning boy & girl collector as well as top class. Thank you for your support! All students with negative meal balances have received notices. Please clear balances immediately with cash or check in the cafeteria or at All students with negative balances of $ or more will be served a Courtesy Meal of a cheese sandwich with white milk. PRINCIPAL MESSAGE Dear Parents/Guardians; First of all I would like to congratulate our 3rd and 4th grade levels for having 100% attendance on Thursday of this week. Your child/children need to be at school daily to receive their full instruction in all subjects. Being in school regularly has a direct impact on the academic results of your child. Please know that during the cold weather, we will not take your child out for PE and/or recess. Students need to be at school daily to learn to the best of their ability. We all need to work together to help students reach their academic goals. On another note, I would like to urge you to continue reinforcing your child s learning at home. While at home please make sure your children are making the time to read to you or that you read to them. Set aside time to have them practice on the skills that they are working on at school. Every minute counts and every task, whether small or big, is meaningful to your child s learning.
