2 Date Created June 20, 2018 Project Title Quantum Administration Project Mission Statement This project will introduce an administration area for Quantum. It was determined that for the first phase, the solution should be deliverable in a short amount of time. For this reason, we will allow theme changes to be made. Also, user creation for Quantum Admin and Quantum Remote Access (QRA) will be done from this project. Description Overview All Quantum Dealers. 1. Quantum Theme configuration a. Allows the editing of the theme i. Fileset/Division change ii. Images iii. Colors b. Shows preview of what the changes will look like. Quantum Remote Dealers 1. User Administration c. QRA d. Quantum Admin General Security Launching Admin To get to the Quantum Admin button, you need to go here: o Go to the Quantum menu Security Security Maintenance Enter master security division code. 3 o o Choose Users Authority & Quantum from the list on the left. Choose Quantum Admin from the list on the left. Quantum Admin will be displayed in a new tab. If Quantum Admin doesn t show, check for popup blockers. Themes This will allow the colors and logos to be changed for the dealer via a user interface. The information for the theme will be stored in the DB and then be written to the drive so that the new theme will be used in Quantum. Here is what the interface looks like: Section 1 Filesets and Divisions This is where the filesets and divisions will be listed for the dealer. There are several levels that can be selected. Enterprise when this is selected, all the changes done will be done for all filesets and divisions. o Main signon page Thursday, August 16, :42:22 3

4 Fileset when this is selected, all the changes will be done for all the divisions in this fileset. This can be overridden at the division level. o Will display after logon to Quantum Division when a division is selected, all the changes will only be done for the selected division. Section 2 Color You can select which color will be applied to Quantum by clicking on one of the colors. There are five different colors to choose from. Before you change the color make sure the appropriate fileset or division is selected. As you change the color, notice that a preview of the color change is shown in section 5. Section 3 Upload Logo Here you can upload a logo to be used in Quantum. Once this logo is uploaded it can be used by any fileset or division. To upload a logo do this: 1. Hit the Select Logo button. 2. This will bring up a file select dialog box. You can navigate to a location on your computer where the logo is located. Select the image file and click the Open button. a. Supported image files i. png ii. jpg iii. gif 3. Then click the Upload button. 4. Notice that the new logo file is now listed in Available Logos Section 4 Available Logos To change the logo for the fileset or division, just select the logo from the list. Notice the logo is updated in the preview window in section 5. If you do not want to show a logo, upload an image file that is a 1 x 1 transparent image file. Then choose this logo file. If a logo is no longer needed, or the wrong logo was uploaded, this logo can be removed. Before the logo is deleted, make sure this logo is not being used by any fileset or division. To delete the logo do this: 1. Hit the Delete button next to the logo that needs to be removed. 2. Confirm that the logo should be deleted. Thursday, August 16, :42:22 4

5 Section 5 Preview Window The preview window will show you what has been configured for the enterprise, fileset or division. To see the preview, click on the enterprise, fileset, or division one you want to see. If you need to change things, simply choose the color and the logo you want. As you make changes, the preview will reflect those changes. Save The Changes As the colors and logos have been modified, these changes are not saved until you hit the Save All button. When this is done all changes that have been done for all filesets, and/or divisions will be saved. Then when you refresh your Quantum session, the changes will show in Quantum. If you don t want to keep those changes, simply close the Quantum Admin session and your changes will not be saved. Resetting The Theme To go back to the default theme for all filesets and divisions, hit the Reset To Defaults button. Then hit the Save All button. Users This will allow users to be created for the dealer via a user interface. The users being created are used to control access to the Quantum Admin features as well as Quantum Remote Access (QRA) Here is what the interface looks like: Thursday, August 16, :42:22 5

6 Add User To add a user, hit the Add User button in the upper right-hand corner of Quantum Admin. This will bring up a dialog where the new user information can be added. Here is an example: Input Errors When modifying/adding data for a user and the data is not correct for the field and error will be indicated. This is done by highlighting the field in red and having a red wavy line at the bottom. Then hovering over the field will give information about the error. Here is what the input field will look like if it has an error: Username The username must be in the format of an address and can only be used once. Any valid address will be accepted. If the address is not correct an error will be shown. Description Use this to put in the name of the user. Thursday, August 16, :42:22 6

7 Password/Confirm Password This is the password used for the new user. When a password is entered, the password needs to be entered in both the Password and Confirm Password fields. This helps verify that the correct password was used. Passwords must satisfy the following requirements: Minimum length, 8 characters. Contain at least 1 of the following: o Number o Lowercase character o Uppercase character No spaces are allowed in the password. Users can t reset their passwords without coming into Quantum Admin. Enabled A user can be enabled or disabled. The default state is enabled. This feature allows the user to be disabled without being deleted. Roles This will control what the user can do. There are multiple roles that can be set for a user. Roles: Administrator This role allows a user to use everything in Quantum Admin. It will not add them into QRA. User Creation This will allow the user to have access to the Users tab in Quantum Admin. They can then add/modify/delete/disable/enable users. Theme Changes If the user has this role, they have access to the Theme tab where they can change the logo and colors used for Quantum. Quantum Remote Access This will allow the user to use Quantum Remote Access when connecting to Quantum. Note: This is writing to the Apache passwd file. To add a role, do this: 1. Select the role from the Available Roles column. 2. Click in the button. 3. Notice that the select role shows up in the Selected Roles column. To remove a role, do this: 1. Select the role from the Selected Roles column. 2. Click on the button. 3. Notice that the selected role shows up in the Available Roles column. Thursday, August 16, :42:22 7

8 Save Saving the user will save all of the settings for the user. After this is done the user can use the features that were setup for them. Close If the user is closed, they will not be added. Modify User Find the user that needs to be updated from the list of users and hit the Edit button. You will see the Edit User dialog box appear. To change a password for the user, hit the Change Password button. The Password/Confirm Password fields will now be available so that the password can be changed. The Edit User screen has the same rules on the input fields as the Add User screen. If you can t remember these rules, please look at Add User section for further details. Make the changes that are required and then hit the Save button. If you don t want to keep the changes, hit the Close button. Thursday, August 16, :42:22 8

9 Delete User Find the user that needs to be updated from the list of users and hit the Delete button. Confirm that the user should be deleted. Disable/Enable User Find the user that needs to be Disabled/Enabled from the list of users and hit the Edit button. Check or uncheck Enabled. Then save the changes.
