2 PRESENTATION "A picture is worth a thousand words". xline is the most easy mind mapping app, the best way of brainstorming. It's perfect for idea collection and thought structuring. It allows you to visually organise your thoughts or ideas. Your thoughts can be brought to life on mind maps that resemble the informational structure of your brain. Use our tool to develop strategies and make connections between them. A mind map is considered a great way to brainstorm and generate more ideas. It helps you create a number of small ideas from one big idea, see how different ideas could be connected together and create a plan of action. xline app is the ideal partner for you to brainstorm new ideas, to visualize your plan of action on a mind map and to carry out strategies in order to implement them with your team. xline is featuring a very clean and simple design based on more than 10 years of experience in Apps. With xline, you can visualize your ideas by connecting various pieces of information together. xline maps can combine elements like text, shapes and images. Mind mapping allows you to concentrated on the core ideas, reducing time spent and increasing productivity. xline is the main partner of your brain! REQUIREMENTS xline requires OS X 10.8, OS X 10.9, OS X or OS X and a Mac with 64-Bit capabilities. It s available in English and French languages.

3 TUTORIAL 1. Launch the application 2. The following window will appear : The main idea is centered in the middle of the screen. It s your first idea. A B C A. Toolbar : main tools B. Drawing area : you draw your mind map here C. Outline view : your ideas with a hierarchical view (you can hide it from the view menu)

4 3. Select the bubble with your cursor. Click on the Inspector button of the toolbar (or use command + i keyboard shortcut) You will see an inspector window appearing. It allows you to edit the visual aspect of any selected idea. A B C D E

5 Let s review the main capabilities of the Inspector. It s simple and powerful. A. Zone that allows you to change the style and color of the idea. B. These functions allows you to edit the shape and color of the idea bubble. C. Here, you can select the type of display for sub ideas related to this idea. D. This popup menu allows you to import an image and select display options. You can also drag and drop icons or images directly from the Finder or from the new library of icons included in version 2.0. E. This zone allows you to add notes to each idea. You can hide this zone in preferences. NOTE : You can edit the title of the first idea. Just double click on the title. To add multiple sub ideas related to the main idea, use the New Idea button of the toolbar. You can also use Tabulation keyboard shortcut. 4. A sub idea bubble will appear : 5. To add more idea bubbles from the main idea, click again on the same + button or use Tabulation. Repeat as many times as you wish.

6 6. Other sub ideas will appear : As you can see, new sub ideas always take the style of the related main idea. 7. Double click on each title to edit the content. 8. Display the Inspector of the main bubble 9. Select Organizational Chart option to select your display preference.

7 10. Here is one display result. Now, you understand how you change the style of your mind map! xline is very powerful. You can quickly and easily format sub ideas. At any time, you can also drag an idea to another location with your cursor. When you select and move the main idea, all related ideas follow! To create another main idea on the same document, go to the toolbar and click on New Main idea button. 11. Here are some other display mode results Right tree :

9 12. Click on a link connected to the main idea. An Inspector will appear : You can change the style of links, here, we will add an arrow and a bold start. 13. See the result below.

10 14. Hide / show bubbles a: Select a sub idea with your cursor. b : Click on the icon at the left of the bubble. Now other sub linked ideas are hidden. Click again on the same icon to make the sub ideas reappear! 15. Let s Play! Now that you ve understood the main concept, you can create amazing mind maps. 13 PREFERENCES In the main menu of the application you can assign preferences for new documents.

14 DOCUMENT SETTINGS With the settings button of the toolbar, you can define the default background color of your document. You can also import an image or select a default image. IMPORT OPTIONS Since version 1.1, you can now import / export to OPML format. It s an open source format for mind maps used by most similar tools. You can now also import xplan documents and give a new view of your projects.

15 EXPORT OPTIONS By using the File menu and Export options, you can save your mind map to JPEG or PDF format. You can also use the xview service option that is very convenient for team collaboration. xview is a free service created by adnx that allows you to publish your mind maps to the internet. Using xview with xline allows easy access from any web browser (maps are published at JPEG format). After publishing a file, you can go to the File menu and select Files published on xview to get the URL of a file or erase a file. Compatible with ipad version xline documents made with the Mac version are compatible with the ipad version. You can use icloud Drive or Dropbox services to exchange documents between devices.
