1 Toolbar The Toolbar enables user to select and work with a variety of tools. The buttons on the toolbar are organized in panels: Actions Panel Buttons provide user to make changes to.notebook files Plug-Ins Panel Buttons provide additional plug-ins for Notebook - not applicable Tools Panel Buttons for creating and working with basic objects on Notebook pages

2 Actions Panel The Actions Panel includes buttons that provide users to make changes to.notebook files. Go to Previous Page Paste copied object into Notebook page Go to Next Page Capture image into Notebook page Undo Action Display image from SMART (Only) Document Camera into Notebook page Redo Action Basic Measurement Tools Add a Blank Page to Notebook file Geodreieck protractor or set square Delete a Page from Notebook file Protractor Open a Notebook file from computer Ruler Save a Notebook file to computer Delete object from Notebook file Shade area of Notebook page Add Table to Notebook page Link to SMART Exchange

3 Actions Panel - View Screens The View Screens button provides the user viewing options including Full Screen, Transparent Background, and Dual Page Display. Viewing Options drop down menu Full Screen view - hides all interface elements except Notebook page Transparent Background view - allows user to view desktop behind the Notebook page Dual/Single Page view - display two pages side-by-side

4 Tools Panel The Tools Panel provides buttons for creating and working with basic objects on Notebook pages. Selection Tool - left click or mouse Basic Pen - use drop down menu to access additional pen options Shapes Tool - click and drag for specific shape Calligraphic Pen - only available when connected to interactive display Polygon Tool - create 3-15 sided polygons Crayon Pen - works just like a crayon! Fill Tool - fill in object and choose transparency Highlighter Pen - highlight over objects Pen Tool - choose between pen drop down menu options - see opposite side of page for details Creative Pen - choose from print options or create an original stamp Text Tool - choose between fonts, font sizes, color, and additional outline options Magic Pen - ink disappears after certain period of time, circle creates focused selection, square creates zoomed in selection Eraser Tool - choose between three eraser sizes Shape Recognition Pen - creates shape from annotation

5 Customized Toolbar The customize toolbar icon located on the top left or bottom left of your screen will open the additional tool options available. To add a tool to the toolbar, click and drag onto the toolbar. Add an exact replica of a Notebook page to Notebook file Add on screen Keyboard Clear all annotations on Notebook page Increase or decrease volume from toolbar Reset page back to last Save on Notebook page Show or Hide Alignment Guides Print file or page of Notebook Add Internet Browser to Notebook page When in Dual Page view, use the Pin Page tool to keep one page up as you continue through the file. View or Open SMART Video Player on Notebook Page View or Open SMART Recorder on Notebook Page

6 Contextual Panel When a tool is selected, a variety of additional buttons to modify the tool will appear. Shapes Tool The Shapes tool provides the user a number of shape options, color, line, and transparency varieties. Polygon Tool The Polygon tool provides the user a number of polygon side options, color, line, and transparency varieties. POLYGON TOOL SHAPE OPTIONS COLOR LINE TRANSPARENCY Fill Tool The Fill tool provides the user color and transparency options for filling in an object. COLOR TRANSPARENCY Pen Tool The Pen tool provides a large variety of pen options, color, line, and transparency varieties. PEN TOOL PENOPTIONS COLOR LINE TRANSPARENCY

Text Tool The Text tool provides the user font options, outlining options,color, text modifiers, and transparency. TEXT TOOL FONT OPTIONS OUTLINING COLOR TRANSPARENCY Line Tool The Line tool provides the user a number of line options, color, line, and transparency varieties. LINE TOOL LINE OPTIONS COLOR LINE TRANSPARENCY Eraser Tool The Eraser tool provides the user three eraser sizes.
