1 imaps v2 QUICKSTART GUIDE Search for Condo Units new! You can now search for individual condo records when you search by address in the property search. Or, select a condo parcel using the select parcel tool; the individual condo records will appear in the attribute window. Parcel Dimensions Zoom in to at least 1" = 100' (or search for a property by Address, Owner, PIN or Real Estate ID) 1. Click on Show Additional Layers on Map (green tabs - lower right) 2. Scroll down to the Property category and click the checkbox next to Dimension Labels. Save Custom Layer List new! Do you use the same layers frequently (Property Dimensions, Topo or Corporate Limits in color, for example)? You can now Save a Custom Layer List: the next time you open imaps, these layers will be turned on by default. Note: if you clear you browser history you saved layer list will go away. Tools are located below the Layer List on the Show Additional Layers panel You can now access Show Additional Layers from a button and the upper right hand area of the map to the left of the Streets option. imaps Quick start Guide: Wake County & The City of Raleigh Page 1

2 Legend new! A Legend is available from the layer list: Transparency new! You can control the transparency of layers from the slider bar on the Layer List Copy & Paste Map (add the map to a report in apprasial software or Word) Set up your map (search for a property or area, turn on layers) Click the Print Tool : Choose Export JPG Click Export JPG imaps Quick start Guide: Wake County & The City of Raleigh Page 2

3 You will be prompted for a location to Save the JPG: Create a folder somewhere on your computer for imaps Images (My Documents, Desktop, another location) This may seem challenging at first. Once you establish a location for your images, this should become a straightforward process. The key is to set up a folder that you can access with your appraisal software. Once you ve saved the map image, open your appraisal (or other) software. How you add the image to your report will vary depending on the software you are using. Here are two options: Word Document Insert Picture Navigate to the folder where you saved the map JPG ACI Appraisal Software: Inserting Images from a File Click the Thumbnails icon, or any other Photo Page icon in the Component List Click View > Gallery, or press CTRL+SHIFT+G on the keyboard Click the Open Gallery from Folder icon Browse to a folder, select the image file, and click Open. The image imports into the gallery Click and drag a photo into the corresponding slot in the Thumbnails Click the X in the upper right corner of the gallery to exit Instructions for ACI Appraisal Software from Want to click on a parcel & see the property info? 4 Changes to the identify tool new! The identify tool now only shows layers that are turned on. 6 PROPERTY INFO Once you ve searched for a property, the info will show up on the right side of the screen. Tips: Right Click to Export Data new! Info can be sorted alphabetically by clicking on the field header. 7 Pictometry Images new! Navigation The Zoom and Pan Tools are now consolidated on one vertical toolbar. This aligns with the industry standard for online mapping programs. 8 imaps FAQ Troubleshooting What version of the Adobe Flash Player is required to use imaps? Version 10.2 or higher Note: If your Flash Player is a version lower than 10.2, you will be prompted to upgrade to version 11 (since that is the latest release) How do I know what version of the Adobe Flash Player I have installed? 9 The link to the Register of Deeds application (Deeds & Plats) isn t working on my computer POP UP BLOCKER: If the Register of Deeds BOOKS! Application does not appear after you click the View button, it may be due to your pop up blocker. The solution will look different depending on the Browser & Version you are using. In Internet Explorer 9, the message appears at the bottom of the screen: Can t find a property by Property Address, Owner Name, PIN OR Real Estate ID? Try Search by Places of Interest, Intersection or Search by Subdivision. Location Search The Location Search Tab includes Search by Street Intersection, Search by Subdivision, Search by Places of Interest (Landmarks), Search by Address (geocoded) and Search by Coordinates Street Intersection Search 1. Choose the Location Search Tab 2. As you type the name of the first street the intersecting streets will appear in the Select Intersection Box. Choose one of the Intersecting Streets to zoom to the intersection. Subdivision Search 1. Choose the Location Search Tab: 2. Start typing the name of a Subdivision in the text box. 3.
