1 Boraman Consultants Website User Guide Logger telemetry data is accessed through the Boraman Consultants website at Select the Telemetry option down left hand side of the page to get to the login screen. A username and password needs to be entered on the login screen, these will have been supplied by Boraman Consultants through your logger installer. Remember that the username and password are both casesensitive and should be typed exactly as supplied. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 1

2 1. Data View When the user has logged he is taken to the default page for the website that allows you to view a single graph for any of the parameters that are being recorded by your loggers. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 2

3 Notes: You can choose to overlay two different parameters onto the same graph. To choose what to view you first use the upper pulldown box to select a site or logger location for the Main graph parameter (eg Hydrocom Demo Site in the screen shot) and then use the lower menu to choose the type of data that you require (eg a flow meter site will typically have flow rate and daily volume available to view, together with whatever other parameters are required by the resource consent eg 10 day volume ). You then need to select the Produce graph button to draw the graph. If you want to display one parameter overlaid with another then you just repeat the process with the two Overlay parameter pulldown boxes (always remembering to select Produce graph when you have made your selection). Clicking any graph on the website causes it to be re-displayed enlarged in a separate window. The graph can be scrolled left and right using the arrows to the top left and right of the graph. The magnifying glass icons to the left of the graph allow you to zoom in and out and to reset the graph to the default period specified by the Time span pulldown. You can change the timescale that the data is displayed over with the Time span pulldown menu. The default is for the last 7 days of data. If a parameter has an associated restriction level it is shown as a red line on the graph. The latest reading for the main parameter in the graph is displayed in the box below the graph. Note that volume graphs (eg daily volume, weekly volume, etc) only show data for complete days so the latest value displayed for volumes will be the volume for the period finishing yesterday. If the main parameter is soil moisture and there is a soil capacity/refill point defined for the site (see the Admin page later) then the capacity and refill are marked by a shaded band on the graph. If a rainfall site is selected, a flashing rainfall icon will appear beside the graph. Clicking this icon will display a new window showing a daily/monthly/yearly breakdown of the rainfall statistics. If a site that is associated with a seasonal allocation is selected, a cumulative running total of the volume of water used under the consent is displayed in a separate graph. A calculator is also displayed showing the volume remaining on the seasonal allocation the calculator allows you to estimate the number of days irrigation remaining based on an average flow rate and hours pumping per day. Note that if Last Season is chosen as the graph timescale then the cumulative total will be for last season, not the current season. Clicking Make this my default graph will cause the current graph to be the one that is displayed by default in the future when the user logs in. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 3

4 Up to 4 graphs can be saved as favourites (specifying eg a particular parameter overlaid with another) by clicking the Save this graph to favourites button. Any graphs that have been defined as favourites can be viewed by selecting the Favourite Graphs tab at the top of the page. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 4

5 2. Manual Comments Clicking the notebook and pen icon ( )to the left of the main graph brings up a window that allows you to enter comments for the data in the main graph. Any comments that you enter appear as an overlay on the main graph this can be useful for instance to note heavy rainfall events on soil moisture graphs. Note that the comments are just a visual memo pad aid, they do not for instance get included in compliance reports. Click the Comment Time box to select the date for the comment, enter the comment in the blue Comment box and hit Insert. Any existing comments can be edited or deleted with the Edit and Delete buttons that appear next to the comment. The Show comments on graphs box needs to be ticked to see the comments on the main graph. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 5

Manual Rainfall Clicking the weather station icon ( )to the left of the main graph brings up a window that allows you to enter manual rainfall records that can be overlaid onto any of your graphs. The manual rainfall window has two parts which you move between by clicking the dark blue banner bars. The top part allows you to enter a site name that will be used to identify the data on the website. You must create a site name before you can enter any data. You can have as many sites as you need (eg if you have records for two separate farms where the rainfall is quite different). Note that your usename gets appended to the site name that you enter to ensure that the site is unique on the website. When you have created a site click the Enter rainfall data bar to open up the part of the window that allows you to enter rainfall data and view the data that has already been entered. Select the site that you want to enter data for, enter the date and rainfall value and click Enter Rainfall. Clicking Show Existing Rainfall Data shows all of the data entered so far. An existing entry can be changed simply by re-entering a new value for that date (to delete an entry you can enter a rainfall value of 0mm). The manual rainfall data shows up as a normal site in the pulldown menus on the main website graphs and so can be overlaid onto any of the graphs. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 6

7 4. Overview Graphs Clicking the Overview Graphs button displays a useful page which shows each of the individual graphs that can be displayed in the View Data page, but all displayed at once. Note that only the last 14 days of data are shown, however the page provides a quick and easy way of checking that restrictions are not being exceeded and that soil moisture is within limits. If the user s account provides access to the data from more than one farm then buttons are displayed to allow the choice of which farm to display. Selecting View Statistics displays a table of the latest readings for each of the graphs, which can be useful to print out for your own records. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 7

8 5. Favourite Graphs As mentioned under Data View up to 4 graphs can be defined as favourites to view together on a single Favourite Graphs page. The Overview Graphs page provides a more complete summary of the current state, but favourites can be useful to quickly view overlaid parameters. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 8

9 6. Compliance The compliance page allows the user to produce tables showing a daily breakdown of performance against resource consents. The resource consent and timescale are chosen using the pulldown menus then Produce report is selected. The report will contain a column for each of the parameters in the resource consent (eg flow rate, daily volume) - a column for the associated restriction level will appear in the table immediately to the right of the restricted parameter. Generally the flow rate and daily volume for each pump related to the resource consent will appear in the report for information purposes, irrespective of whether that particular parameter has a restriction level. Columns are added to the right of the table showing whether each of the restricted parameters has been compliant for the day. These compliance columns are in the same order as the restriction columns. Each daily volume column in a report is totaled and the total shown at the bottom of the column (this provides a useful way of working out the volume that has been pumped over any period, just select the appropriate period using the pulldown menu). If there is a seasonal allocation specified in the resource consent this is shown next to the total. For example in this screenshot of consent CRC at Hydrocom Demo Site there is a restriction on the flow rate, the weekly volume and the seasonal volume (or allocation).. 10 This example compliance report is for the last complete 7 days of data and shows a breakdown for each day of the maximum hourly-averaged flow rate over the day and the associated restriction the weekly volume for the 7 days ending on that day and the associated 7-day volume restriction. the daily volume is also included even though there is no actual daily volume restriction level. This allows the total volume over the period to be displayed at the bottom of the column, together with the seasonal allocation specified in the resource consent. The report can be downloaded in Microsoft Excel format by clicking the Download Compliance Report button. It should be noted that the flow rate presented in the compliance table is the maximum hourly-averaged flow rate for the day (ie the flow is averaged for each hour in the day then the maximum of these 24 values is calculated). Admin The Admin page allows the user to do the following edit the soil capacity and refill points for any of his soil moisture probes (note that editing these values changes them for the soil moisture site, so any other user who has access to the site via their own login will also see the changes) Enter an address (or more than one address separated by commas) or a single cellphone number to which alerts will be sent. Alerts are generated at the start of the day for the following conditions: o whenever a restriction level on one of the user s resource consents has changed since the previous day o whenever a non-compliance is detected in the previous day s data for any of the user s resource consents Note that the receipt of txt alerts is a premium service for which there is an additional charge. Download the raw logger data from any of their loggers by entering the required time range and selecting Download Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 11

12 8. Map View The Map View provides another alternative view of the graphical logger data. The page shows a user s sites as red circles on a Google Earth overlay. Clicking any of the sites allows the display of the last 7 days of data for any of the parameters at the site. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 12

13 9. Tables View The Tables View provides a tabular view of the data. Up to five parameters for a given site can be selected to define a row in the table and the latest logged value for each parameter is displayed in the row. There is no limit to the number of such rows that can be defined (the screenshot below shows a single row containing flow rate, daily volume, weekly volume, soil moisture and rainfall from the Hydrocom Demo Site) To enter a row the user selects the Site from the pulldown menu, and then up to 5 of the parameters that are logged at that site. Clicking the Save button then saves the selection in the website and causes a row to be displayed with the selected data. A row can be deleted from the table by clicking the Delete button in the row. The table can be downloaded in Excel spreadsheet format for the user s own records. Boraman Consultants Website User Guide v1.2 Page 13
