1 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-1 Extract Frames Using Adobe Premiere Start Adobe Premiere Click on New Project. Click on Browse. Single click on your PlantsVersusZombies01 folder. Click on Select Folder. Name the project Lesson01-your name. Click on OK once more.

2 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-2 Click on File>Import. Open aa Cartoon Animation Open the PlantsVersusZombies01 folder. Open Zombies01. Click on the icon shown at point 1. Drag the icon across to point 2.

3 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-3 Arrange Your Screen Click on Start>Computer. Open the Students drive. Click on your PlantsVersusZombies01>Images folder. Click on Select Folder. Arrange your screen so that you can see Adobe Premiere and your Images folder as seen below. Viewing Individual Frames Start tapping on the Right Arrow key to view individual images or frames. You need to extract 5 frames showing how the zombie walks.

4 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-4 Click on the Export Frame button. Click on Browse. Click on your PlantsVersusZombies01>Images folder. Click on Select Folder.

5 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-5 Set the file type to PNG. Click on OK. An image file appears in your Images folder. Tap the Right Arrow key to change the walking posture. Click on Export Frame. Check that the PNG file is selected. Check that the PlantsVersusZombies01>Images folder is selected. Click on OK.

6 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-6 You should two images in your folder. Tap the Right Arrow key to change the walking posture. Export the frame. Export two more frames. You should have a total of five frames. Right click on the first file. Click on Rename.

7 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-7 Rename the files as seen below. Crop/Edit Images with Adobe Photoshop Click on File>Open. Select and open all the images in one go. Click on your 01 image.

8 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-8 Click on the Crop Tool. Draw a selection box around the zombie. Double click in the selection box to crop the images. Click on the second image. Crop a zombie.

9 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-9 Crop the other zombie images. Click on Arrange Documents. Select Tile All in Grid. Arrange your screen as seen below. Click on image 01. Set the Zoom to 200%.

10 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-10 Erasing Using the Lasso Tool Click on the Lasso Tool. With a very steady hand, very carefully trace along a part of the zombie and then loop back to the beginning point. Tap the Delete key to delete that part of the image.

11 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-11 Use the Lasso Tool to trace another part of the image. Delete another part of the background.

12 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-12 Delete the rest of the background. Leave the circle base near the feet. Click on File>Save. Delete the background from all your images. Save the changes made to each image. Save all you images using the PNG format.

13 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-13 View Images in Flash Start Adobe Flash Click on Create New>ActionScript 3 Click on File>Save. Open your PlantsVersusZombies01 folder. Name the file Lesson01-your name Click on the New Layer button. Name the layers Zombies & Background.

14 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-14 Modify Stage Size Click on Modify>Document. Set the size to 800 by 600 pixels. Create & Name Layers Lock the Zombies layer. Click on the Background layer. Draw a large colored rectangle as the background. Lock and unlock the layers as seen below. Click on the Zombies layer.

15 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-15 Click on File>Import>Import to Stage Open your PlantsVersusZombies01>Images folder. Click on image 01. Click on No if asked to import the images as a sequence. Reposition the zombie as seen below.

16 Lesson 1A Plants Versus Zombies01 Page 1A-16 Use the File>Import>Import to Stage command to import your other 4 zombies. Do not import the images as a sequence. Click on File>Save. Click on File>Publish.
