4 2 Purpose The purpose of this document is to show the required steps to upgrade the firmware of the CPE7000 using the web management interface (WMI). 3 Introduction The Telrad CPE7000 was released in August 2014 as a replacement for the BreezeMAX PRO 6000 (CPE6000). The CPE7000 is a dual technology CPE operating in either WiMAX or LTE mode. Typically, firmware upgrades for CPEs are done remotely and automatically; however, there are instances when a manual firmware upgrade is required and must be done locally via the LAN interface of the CPE. For example, if an issue with the firmware prevents the CPE from connecting to the wireless network, a local firmware upgrade is required. The following sections describe how to identify the current firmware version, upgrade to a new version of firmware, and reset the CPE to factory default values. Identify current firmware version. 5 4 Identifying the current firmware version The following steps describe how to identify the current firmware version. 1. Using Internet Explorer or another suitable web browser, browse to the CPE7000 s web management interface (WMI) at The following screen appears: 2. 6 After a successful login attempt, the following screen appears: The firmware version is shown in the About tile (bottom left). In this example, the active firmware version is , which is the original CPE7000 firmware from the CPE s first release in August 2014 (example only; your CPE may have a different version). 7 5 Upgrading firmware The following steps describe how to upgrade the firmware on a CPE Login to the WMI as described in section 4. The following screen appears: 2. Click the Management tile. The following screen appears: CPE7000 Firmware Upgrade Procedure Page 7 of 14

9 4. Click the Browse button and select the appropriate firmware file from your computer, and then click Upgrade. The following screen appears indicating that the upgrade is in progress. CPE7000 Firmware Upgrade Procedure Page 9 of 14

10 After approximately 2 minutes, the following screens appear: The CPE completes the reboot when the countdown reaches 0 seconds. The first part of the firmware upgrade is now complete. After the reboot has finished, the CPE must be reset to factory default, which is explained in section 6. CPE7000 Firmware Upgrade Procedure Page 10 of 14

11 6 Resetting the CPE to factory default The following steps describe how to reset the CPE7000 to its factory default configuration. This step is required to activate the new firmware and must not be skipped. 1. Login to the WMI. The following screen appears: 2. Check the About tile and verify that the Firmware Version is upgraded. For example, verify that the previous version of was successfully upgraded to (example only; you may be upgrading to a different version). a. If the upgrade was successful, continue with this procedure. b. If the upgrade was unsuccessful, repeat the upgrade procedure. If it fails again, escalate the issue to your next level of support (CPE may be faulty). 3. Click the Management tile. The following screen appears: CPE7000 Firmware Upgrade Procedure Page 11 of 14

12 4. On the side menu, click Restore Default. The following screen appears: When the Image Checksum calculation is complete, the following screen appears: CPE7000 Firmware Upgrade Procedure Page 12 of 14
