3 STREAM deployment options Multi-User Edition can now be deployed and accessed in a variety of ways, including: Traditional Client-Server solution: with manual or automated Client deployment Virtualised Client-Server solution With single central STREAM Client Virtualised, web-enabled mobile solution Central STREAM Client with support for browser and mobile devices As a SaaS application, hosted in our data centre.

4 Server Components The Core STREAM Server components are as follows: STREAM Database STREAM License Service STREAM Client Installer Either Or All components installed on a single Windows server the STREAM database can be stored on a dedicated Database Server (as illustrated) Optional STREAM Alerting interfaces with any server supporting SMTP (e.g. MS-Exchange or Lotus Notes)

5 1. Traditional Client Server When using a traditional client server architecture: The STREAM Client installer resides in a shared folder on the Application server, with READ-ONLY access limited to authorised STREAM users Users install a STREAM Client on their workstation by invoking the STREAM Client installer Installation is fast (typically < 30 seconds), automatic and can be performed by non-technical users If users do not have local administration permission, then an Administrator can install the STREAM Client on behalf of users. This architecture is appropriate where the user community is small, and relatively static.

6 Automated Client deployment Also possible to use client deployment technologies such as Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) The STREAM Client is packaged as a.msi file, and can easily by installed into SCCM Authorised users can then download and install the Client without requiring local administration permission.

Virtualised Client STREAM Client is installed directly on the Application Server Users can then access the STREAM Client: If the folder containing the STREAM Client is shared (READ- ONLY access limited to authorised users), then users can simply launch the STREAM Client directly from the SHARE The STREAM client can also be accessed through an existing virtualisation technology such as CITRIX or Microsoft s AppV. Advantages: Requires no STREAM-specific software to be installed on the user s machine With only a single, central STREAM Client, application support is centralised.

Web Browser Access STREAM Client is installed on your own Application Server Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), plus STREAM virtualisation services are installed & enabled on the Server STREAM can now be accessed through a Web Browser, and various mobile devices. Supported browsers currently include: Internet Explorer Firefox Safari Advantages: Requires no additional software to be installed on the user machines (just a browser plug-in) With only a single, central STREAM Client, application support is centralised The user experiences high performance even across slow networks.
