1 Cisco WebEx What s New in Release ? Enhanced video sharing, support for HD video, keyboard accessibility improvements, Mac multi-language support, and more. This document covers all updates and enhancements from FR23 SP25 to FR29 SP32 EP18. The number of enhancements you see depends on whether your organization has performed incremental upgrades. CISCO WEBEX MEETING CENTER High-definition video Participate in a high-definition video 1 experience with up to 720p resolution (1280x720). Note: High-definition video is automatically turned off during application, desktop, and streaming media sharing. Enhanced video sharing widget Users can now switch to full-screen video view with one click, directly from the Active Speaker widget. (Previously, users had to stop sharing and switch back to the Meeting Manager in order to switch to full screen video view.)

Control video sharing in full-screen mode During application or desktop sharing or while sharing a document in full-screen mode, participants can send and stop their own video and see their self-view directly on the video display panel without the need to open the Participants panel. Share video and media via PowerPoint Hosts and presenters can now present videos and other media files by embedding them in a PowerPoint slide, then presenting the PowerPoint document in Meeting Center. Hover over the embedded video to display playback controls. Supported in PowerPoint 2010 or later (Windows only). Screen Saver is automatically disabled Screen saver is not disabled in video and other full screen modes. Accessibility The Windows client provides keyboard accessibility and partial screen reader support of certain features. These enhancements comply with Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act. For a list of shortcuts, see Accessing the meeting window using the keyboard in the Help. Mac localization This release provides support for ten languages on Mac: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish (LAS). Cross-platform support Support for is now available on the latest operating systems and browsers, including Mac OS 10.7 (Mac Lion). See Operating System and Browser Support, later in this document. CISCO WEBEX EVENT CENTER (if applicable to your organization) Redesigned Event Center client This release includes a redesigned Event Center client. A new Quick Start tab provides easy access to audio conferencing, Invite and Remind, and sharing options. The new Invite and Remind feature lets hosts invite attendees via , phone, and IM. A Floating Icon Tray (FIT) similar to the FIT is now available for presenters and attendees. 2

High-quality video High-quality video is now available in Event Center: > Video opens automatically when the first panelist turns on his or her webcam. > Self-view video window can be seen as picture-in-picture or minimized. > Video focus automatically switches based on who is talking. > Host can lock video on the Active Speaker or a specific panelist. > Full-screen icon expands the Active Speaker video with video thumbnails of others: Video sharing Multimedia file sharing is now supported in Practice Session and Live Event. On the File menu, select Open and Share. Supported audio and video formats include: WMV, WMA, WAV, MP3, ASF, AVI, MPG, MPEG, MOV, FLV, F4V, QT, and MP4. Additional language support New language support for Dutch, Russian, and European Spanish. CISCO WEBEX SUPPORT CENTER: REMOTE SUPPORT (if applicable to your organization) High-quality video CSRs can add video to their remote support sessions, giving a more personal support experience. Once, the customer can see the CSR s video and can share his or her video back. Video is available for two attendees per session the primary CSR and the primary customer. Note: the Site Admin must enable this feature for the customer to be able to send video. Hiding technical support features WebEx Remote Support site administrators can restrict product features to functionality such as video, audio, desktop sharing, and so on, while keeping the technical support features (system information, custom scripts, and so on) hidden by turning off the Enable Technical Support features option. 3

The above changes are not available in the Java application for Linux and Solaris. On Demand Training module support improvements Support for the optional On Demand Training module is now available on the latest operating systems and browsers. See Operating System and Browser Support, later in this document. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I know what version we are using today? 1. Go to your site URL (e.g. companyabc.webex.com). 2. Click the (or applicable) tab. 3. On the left side of the page, expand the Support link and then click Downloads. Your build / version is displayed at the top right side of the page. What time does the upgrade take place? Upgrades occur every Friday evening, excluding some U.S.-based holiday weekends. Special requirements need to be considered and factored into timelines. What will the user experience be with the upgrade? The first time you join or start a meeting on the new version, the application will be automatically triggered for installation. The new client application is also available to users for manual download, prior to joining a meeting. When prompted, click Run to upgrade. You must have administrator privileges on your computer to use this installer. In addition, the client deployment could be scheduled and installed via.msi by your Network or IT department. 4
