Below are descriptions of the forums, followed by a table with hyperlinks to register for the events. 1) Forum: NDIS Assistive Technology (AT) reporting requirements for Allied Health professionals This session has been designed to incorporate the latest information and will cover the following information: This presentation will cover: Reporting requirements for Assistive Technology (AT) The AT Assessment Form, its relationship to Reasonable and Necessary decision-making and why this is important to you and your participants. Who should attend? Allied Health practitioners and Support Coordinators. 2) Forum: School Leavers Employment Supports (SLES) SLES has been introduced as an early intervention approach for Year 12 School leavers designed to support their transition from school to employment. SLES is expected to deliver vocational skills development and contribute to the participant achieving an employment outcome. SLES may include job skills, travel and communication training. The presentation will cover: The role of SLES providers SLES and the participant and provider pathway What SLES success look like for participants The SLES reporting tool 3) Forum: Plan Management and Support Coordination As a Support Coordinator, learn about the request for service and how to apply knowledge in relation to implementing participant plans. 4 Budget flexibility Capacity Building Reporting Scheduled and unscheduled reviews Plan Management information regarding this support 4) Forum: NDIS Provider Session 1 - Understanding the NDIS for Providers This first session is an introduction to the NDIS which will explore the NDIS Act, NDIS Rules and Operational Guidelines, how the NDIS makes funding decisions (reasonable and necessary), appeals, reviews and capacity building. This session will specifically cover: NDIS overview and update NDIS governance documents: o NDIS Act o NDIS Rules o Operational Guidelines Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Principles to Determine the Responsibilities of the NDIS and Other Service Systems Reasonable and necessary decision-making s 34 Evidence and reports Appeals and reviews s 48 and s 100 The role of support coordination and local area coordination (LACs) Transition hints and tips 5) Forum: NDIS Provider Session 2 - Getting started as a Provider This session will explore the Provider pathway, including steps to becoming a registered Provider, responsibilities of Providers, as well as relevant documents and tools. The session is divided into two sessions as follows: Session 1: NDIS overview and update Benefits of being a registered Provider Types of fund management Introduction to the Toolkit Terms of Business Declaration of Suitability Guide to Suitability Quality and safeguards incl. HSQF Session 2: Registration process PRODA and MyPlace portal Step-by-Step guide Lessons learnt from trial Transition hints and tips Introduction to NDIS Price Guide 6) Forum: NDIS Provider Session 3 - Operating within the NDIS This session will explore service agreements and bookings, scheme integrity and getting paid. 5 - Creating service bookings on the myplace Provider Portal - Creating payment requests - Bulk uploads - Provider Payments Team Quoting In-kind Payments and assurance Plan management Scheme integrity 7) Forum: Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Supported Independent Living (SIL) is assistance with and/or supervising tasks of daily life to develop the skills of individuals to live as autonomously as possible. This 2 hour session for Providers registered for Daily Tasks/Shared Living covers: An overview framework for supported independent living An introduction for providers in the use of the supported independent living tool (SIL tool) Explanation of the process for submitting SIL quotes with the NDIA Session 2 Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is accommodation for NDIS participants who require specialist housing solutions that assist with the delivery of supports catering for extreme functional impairment and/or very high support needs. This 1 hour session will cover: The ecosystem of housing and how all parts of the system assist to meet the housing needs of people with disability An explanation of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) How providers can offer and register to provide SDA How to enrol a dwelling and overview of SDA pricing 8) Forum: Provider information and Q&A session The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is holding a Provider Information and Q&A Session which will provide an update of the NDIS rollout and specific provider information in your region. The session has been designed to incorporate the latest information and will cover the following topics: o Transport o Pricing and payment o Support coordination o Question and answer session Calendar of information sessions on next page.
