2 1.0 Setup Diagram Figure 1-1 is a setup diagram for a single RCA IP150 phone configuration. The IP150 is setup as a SIP telephony device. Figure 1-1. 3 4.0 Setup Procedure To set up the Elastix Server for the RCA IP Go to the web address of the Elastix Server Login page. The web address is determined by the customer, for this guide we have used the IP address On the Login page, type the username and password for an administrative user into the Username and Password fields, see Figure 4-1. The username and password are determined by the customer. Figure 4-1. Login 3. Press Enter or click on the Submit button to go to Elastix s Dashboard 4. Once inside, click on the PBX tab on the menu at the top of the screen Figure 4-2. Dashboard 3

4 5. Click on the Submit button to add an extension, see Figure 4-3. This will take you to the Add SIP Extension page, see Figure 4-3. Figure 4-3. Add an Extension 6. On the Add SIP Extension page (Figure 4-4), fill in the following information: User Extension (301 in this example) Display Name ( RCAPhone in this example) secret ( h7dka3rf9si0t in this example) Figure 4-4. Add SIP Extension 7. Click on Submit button at the end of the page, and you will see a similar page on Figure 4-5 displaying the Apply Configuration Changes Here pink ribbon on top of the screen. Click on there to apply changes. 4

5 Figure Click on Submit and apply changes. With this you have just finished creating a SIP extension that will be used by the RCA IP150 to register with the Elastix Server. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 to similarly create another extension (different values on Step 6) to be used by the IP (SIP) Phone to register as well (extension 302 in this example). Once you finished you will see something similar to Figure 4-6. Figure With this you have finished configuring Elastix Server. Now you need to enter the information from the extension created on the Elastix Server into the RCA IP150 To register the Snom Phone there are two methods: Manual Configuration and AutoProvisioning using Elastix s Endpoint Configurator. 5

6 MANUAL CONFIGURATION 1. Log in to the RCA IP150 WebUI by pointing your browser to the IP150 s IP address. For the initial configuration, refer to the RCA IP150 User Manual found at: Factory default settings LAN IP Address Web Access Username Web Access Password DHCP admin admin Set the IP Address in the same network as your Elastix Server. 2. In the main screen, go to the menu Phone Settings. When prompted, enter the Web Access Username and Password. (Figure 4-7). Figure 4-7. IP150 WebUI 3. Once you can access to Phone Settings, click on the button Add Line and fill up the following fields in Line 1 Settings (Figure 4-8). Line Description: RCAPhone (Any name) SIP Username: 301 in this example Auth Username: 301 in this example 6

7 Password: h7dka3rf9si0t in this example SIP Server: Elastix's IP Address ( in this example) Voic number: *97 Figure 4-8. Line 1 Settings 4. When done, click on the button Apply Changes. Now, the IP150 should be registered with Elastix Server. Please check this in the phone or in the Asterisk console with the command sip show peers. 5. Configure the other IP (SIP) Phone with the correct parameters. 6. To test the RCA IP150, pick up the previously configured IP (SIP) Phone and call the IP150 s extension number (301 in this example). When the call is established, speak into the phone and verify that the other IP (SIP) Phone can hear your voice. Check this by calling from both ends. 7

8 AUTOPROVISIONING USING ELASTIX S ENDPOINT CONFIGURATOR Note: The support for Endpoint Configurator is available in Elastix 2.4 by installing the new Endopoint configurator module. This new module is already included in Elastix For Elastix 2.4, log in to the console and install the module by entering the command: yum -y install elastix-endpointconfig2 2. After installation, in the Elastix Web Interface go to PBX => Batch Configurations => New Endpoint Configurator. See figure 4-10 Figure New Endpoint Configurator 3. Type the network address where the phone is located and click on the magnifying glass. This will generate a list with all the phones available in that network. See figure Figure List of endpoints 4. In the row where the phone you want to autoprovision is located (find it according to either its MAC or IP Address): Mark the checkbox From the drop-down list, select the correct Phone Model if it is not detected automatically Click on the link [Configure x.x.x.x] to set the parameters to configure the phone. 5. After clicking in the configuration link, you will see a window with many tabs according to what you want to configure. In this case we will configure a SIP 8

9 account. Go to the tab Accounts and drag the accounts you want to assign from left to right. Then click on Apply button. See figure Figure Accounts configuration 6. After configuring you will see that the status field of the phone has changed. See figure 4-13 Figure List of endpoints 7. Now with the phones selected, click on the button Apply Configuration located next to the magnifying glass button. A message will be shown saying the operation was successful. See figure

10 Figure Configuration successful 8. Your phone will reboot, and when it boots up it should be registered with Elastix with the accounts you set. This step completes the procedure. 10
