4 Introduction This TV-wall control software is used for system debugging, daily operation and production test of Leyard TW Series TV and supports Windows 7 and above versions. Operation Environment Windows 7, 8.1, 10 The TV-wall control software includes Leyard TW Series control programs, edge bright/dark line adjustment and full screen setting. 4

5 Installing / Uninstalling Installation This TV-wall control software is used for system debugging, daily operation and production test of Leyard TW Series TV and supports Windows 7 and above versions. Double-click the installation program to install this software. There may be differences between different versions and they are not described in detail here. 5

12 Introduction to Software Functions Software Interface Double click the shortcut icon on desktop to open software, which includes five parts: menu at the top, communication option area on the left of the center, working area at the center, result output area on the right of the center, and status display area at the bottom. The software interface is as shown below: 12

15 Introduction to Options under Communication Option Normal connection between computer and screen must be ensured. Connection methods include: serial port (as shown in Fig. 1 below) and Ethernet port (as shown in Fig. 2 below). The serial port address shall be correctly selected for serial communication. For communication of internet port, the IP of computer and TV shall be in the same network segment; the IP address and port No. shall be specified in IP of communication option. 16 Introduction to Software Functions The control program interface includes the main interface, mainboard calibration data processing and module command. Main Interface This interface is mainly used for command operation of TV mainboard, including IP modification, setting of starting and ending coordinates, brightness setting, reading of parameters, version information, resolution of input signal and mainboard temperature, update of MCU program, switch calibration, video display switch, download of GAMMA and mainboard FPGA programs. 16

17 Processing of mainboard calibration data This interface is mainly used for processing calibration data, including calibration of data reading function, calibration data of merge module, reading and writing of single-line calibration data, as well as conversion and comparison of calibration data. 19 Software Operation Guideline Application Case TV125 TV cabinet is used in the project. IP of TV mainboard is You must establish normal communication between the production tool software and the controller by performing the following steps before use. Open Software The TV mainboard uses Ethernet port communication only. Please select Ethernet port communication mode in the area of setting communication options; fill out IP address of TV mainboard in the IP area, select TV and TV125 in cabinet type as shown in figure below: 19

20 To ensure good communication status, click P button to check if the network communication is in good status. TW Control Program Main Interface Setting of IP address and MAC 20

21 Fill out the content to be modified in the corresponding textbox and click set button to confirm. After IP modification is done, the IP value in communication mode needs to be updated before command operation. Setting of Starting/Ending Coordinates of Mainboard Image This function is used for modifying the starting/ending coordinates of TV image, multiple TV splicing images, adjusting of edge bright/dark line and alignment of original point. Adjustment of Mainboard Brightness Drag the slider to change brightness and click the Apply button to send modified brightness value to current TV. The brightness range is ; the TV is dark at 0 and the brightest at FGPA Download and Program Loading of Mainboard 1. FPGA download: click button, select FPGA program file needed and click button; after download is done, click button to switch to currently downloaded FPGA. 2. FPGA reading: click button to select save path of FPGA program and click to read FPGA program of current TV cabinet. Note that the cabinet address shall be changed to the address of single cabinet. 21

22 3. Stop: is available only when there s operation related to FPGA program, press this button to terminate the command. GAMA Download This part includes three functions: 1. Download of GAMMA value; by filling out the value needed and clicking corresponding button; the user may conduct separate setting of red, green and blue or alternatively conduct simultaneous setting; the default value is 2.4; 2. Generation of GAMMA file: click this button to generate a corresponding file from current GAMMA value and save it in the designated path; 3. Download of GAMMA file: select the GAMMA file needed and click Download button to confirm. Calibration Switch Select On/Off option and click the Apply button to control the calibration status of current TV cabinet. Video Display Switch Select On/Off option and click the Apply button to control the video status of current TV. 22

23 Parameter Reading Click button to display basic information including IP of TV mainboard in the output bar. Reading of Version Information Click the output bar. button to display the FPGA program version No. and MCU program version No. in Reading of Resolution of Input Signal Click bar. button to display resolution of input signals of current TV mainboard in the output Reading of Mainboard Temperature Click button to display mainboard temperature of current TV in the output bar. Update of MCU Program Click button and select MCU file to update the MCU program of current TV. Switching of Display/Test Pattern 23

24 Switch between display and test pattern; select the option needed and click the Apply button to switch to the intended mode. Setting of Multiple Mainboard Control The multiple mainboard control function is off by default, and Enable needs to be ticked to activate it. Input the IP of multiple TV mainboards in the textbox and have them separated by comma to activate the multiple mainboard control function. Cascade Switch This option is applicable to multiple TV cabinets which are connected through serial ports. The cascade switch can be turned on to simultaneously control multiple cascade TV cabinets. The cabinet address in other columns shall be set as (0, 0) to send this command. Mainboard Addressing This option can be operated after opening cascade switch to distribute address of cascade TV; in the same cascade group, the first network-controlled TV cabinet is (1, 1), the second is (1, 2) and the third is (1, 3) and the rest can be analogized in the same manner. The cabinet address in other columns shall be set as (0, 0) to send this command. 24

25 Cascade Speed Switch between high and low-speed cascade. High speed mode is currently supported; select and click this command. button to confirm. The cabinet address in other columns shall be set as (0, 0) to send Reading of Power Status Click button to display 220V voltage/current, 26V voltage/current, 12V voltage/current, temperature, as well as input/output power of current TV in the output bar. Reset Cabinet Address Press set as (0, 0) to send this command. button to set all cascade cabinet address as (1, 1). The cabinet address in other columns shall be Adjustment of Color Region of Cabinet The option is mainly used for setting color region of TW0.9 cabinet. 25

26 Setting of Cabinet Size This option is mainly used for setting the module/cabinet width and height of different cabinets. TW Control Program Processing of Mainboard Calibration Data Cabinet Type Select the correct box type to continue operation. 26

27 Processing of Cabinet Calibration Data The processing of cabinet calibration data includes writing of calibration data, reading of calibration data, merging of module calibration data, calibration on/off and copying calibration data file to a designated category. 1. Writing of calibration data is to download local calibration data file to the current TV mainboard; select the calibration data file needed and click the Apply button. 2. Reading of calibration data is to read the locally stored calibration data in the current TV mainboard; select the path and name of file to be saved and click the Apply button. 3. Merging of module calibration data is to merge the calibration data of each module of TV cabinet into an integral calibration data file; the operation details are as follows: Click the button for merging module calibration data and the following box will pop up: 27

28 Set the correct calibration data file to corresponding position of module according to actual status; after all files are selected, click to generate the overall calibration data file. button and select a save path 4. Calibration on/off is the switch button to turn on/off calibration. 5. As an advanced function, copying of calibration data file to a designated category means the calibration data of all modules are copied to the designated category. Advanced Function Advanced functions include: generation and modification of calibration data file; reading and writing of single-line calibration data; conversion from dat to TXT, sdat to dat, dat to sdat; file comparison. 1. Generation of calibration file data is to generate one calibration data file by manually filing data and save it locally. Modification of calibration data file is to open and modify existing calibration data file. Operation mode: firstly, select the type of the current cabinet from options of cabinet type; select the current operation in and click button to set or select the file path and name. The calibration data are now available for modification, as shown below. 28

29 Fill out the data as needed and click button or Apply to entire row pixels and then click button, finally click button to close this function to avoid mis-operation. 2. Reading/writing of single-line calibration data is to read/write the calibration data of the current line. 3. The three buttons of dat to TXT, sdat to dat and dat to sdat are used for converting file formats. 4. File comparison is used to check if two calibration data are identical. TW Control Program Module Command 29

30 Some functions, from to 4.4.8, for example, are deactivated in this interface; please contact relevant engineers in the Headquarters if you need these functions. Module Address The module address is the line number of module; the address for all modules is (0, 0) Read/Write Module SN Read/write module S/N includes: Read this module, Read all module, Write this module and Write all module 1. Read this module is to read the time code of single module; the user needs to fill out module address and then click button to display the result in the output bar. 2. Read all module is to read the time code of the entire cabinet module; the user needs to fill out the address of all modules and then click button to display the result in the output bar. 3. Write this module is to write the time code of single module; the user needs to fill out module address in module address and then click button. 4. Write all module is to write the time code of all cabinet modules; the user needs to fill out the address of all modules and then click button. 30

31 Processing of Module Calibration Data The processing of module calibration data includes Read module data, Write one module data, Read module data and write to MB and Write calibration file to modules. 1. Read module data includes two options, i.e. This module and All modules ; the user shall select module address and click Save button to confirm. button to select the path and file name and click the 2. Write one module data : select the path for one module address and data file and click button to confirm. 3. Read module data and write to MB : click button to read the calibration data of the entire cabinet. It takes more time, please be patient. 4. Write calibration file to modules : click this button to pop up a dialogue box as shown in figure below: 31

32 Double click the corresponding textbox of each module and select the correct calibration data file, then click button to confirm. Pay attention to the corresponding position of the entire cabinet module during this process. M25P40 Test Consult relevant engineers for this operation. Standby Mode Select standby mode and click button to operate all modules. Set batch transmission time interval and click button to repeat this command. Black Burst Time Set black burst time and click button to confirm. 32

33 Line Blanking Time Set line blanking time and click button to confirm. Setting of Register Value For details about this function, please contact specialized engineers as it is a special function designed for tests by specialized engineers. Edge Brightness Adjustment 33

34 Conditions Edge brightness adjustment of 54 TV cabinet requires the following conditions: 1. The video signals of TV must be directly outputted from the test computer and point-to-point corresponding must be guaranteed. 2. The network cable is directly connected to the test computer. 3. Calibration is turned on. Debugging Work The edge brightness adjustment work of TV cabinet is conducted by adjusting the bright and dark line through data calibration; the user needs to click button. 1. Backup preparation: The user shall, before starting adjustment of brightness, make a backup in case of irreparable damage to the original data by clicking button and after reading of calibration data of mainboard, click button to select path and file name for saving; for accurate adjustment of brightness, the GAMMA value of TV-cabinet shall be adjusted to 1. Thus, the backup preparation is done. 2. Preview and debugging: Click button to display a preview mask layer, which is of a similar size to TV cabinet, as shown in figure below: 34

35 Right click the mask layer to display the operation menu as shown in figure below: Firstly, click Show split line to display the effects as follows: Check if the upper left corner of split line of preview form is aligned with the upper left corner of TV cabinet and if not, the preview form shall be moved by pressing the W/A/S/D key on keyboard; check if the upper split line of preview form is aligned with the edge of each module on cabinet. After alignment is done, the position shall be locked by right clicking in menu to avoid mis-operation and movement of preview form (which could affect further operations). Debugging is the next step; please cancel the split line by clicking button again to have a better preview of debugging; adjust the edge brightness via the up and down key until the screen is in the ideal status when observed from the front side. 35

Download completed After the aforementioned processed are done, download the modified data into TV mainboard to complete the entire modification function. To download the modified calibration data, the user shall click button to pop up GAMMA dialogue box, in which value shall be set as 1.0; click button to automatically restart TV cabinet after writing is done and preview the effects. Operation is completed if the preview is fine; if not, repeat the operation above. Setting of Full Screen 36

37 Setting of full screen includes: setting of full screen parameters, cabinet wiring, color adjustment, function adjustment, firmware download and cabinet monitoring. Explanation of nouns: Entrance: if multiple cabinets are provided with cascade through a serial port line, commands are sent to a certain cabinet through network and then sent to other cabinets from this cabinet through the serial port line; the cabinet which is controlled by network is called the entrance of the cascade group. Setting of Full Screen Parameters The setting of full screen parameters includes time interval and import/export: 1. Time interval, which includes interval of multiple packages and waiting time after sending, shall be set as 300ms if there are multiple TV cabinets; 2. Import and export are used for saving current setting parameters or restoring original settings; click export to save the current operation to the local computer as file; click import to reload the saved file. 37

38 Cabinet Wiring Cabinet wiring shall be first set in full screen setting in order to control the entire screen. This interface includes: screen information setting, group management, automatic wiring, manual wiring, automatic wiring scheme and wiring data processing. Step 1 First set the screen information; set the row number and column number of the controller according to actual conditions and click column-4 controller placeholder, as shown in figure below: to display the row-2 and 38

39 Step 2 Grouping After the controller is added, it shall be grouped according to actual wiring conditions. If multiple controllers are cascaded through a serial port line, they shall be divided into one group. In this case, we have divided eight controllers into two groups: the first four in one cascading group, and the last four in another. Operation steps: Press and hold the CTRL key to select control; after selecting: click button and the selected controller is added to Group 1 as shown in ; Group 2 shall be added in the Step 3 Splitting Controllers that are wrongly grouped shall be spitted. Operation steps are as follows: 39

40 Select the controllers to be split and click button. You ll see that the controllers have been split from one group Step 4 Setting of Entrance Select the entrance controller for each group and right click to pop up the following menu ; click button to set the entrance controllers of other groups in turn as shown in figure below: Step 5 Setting of Entrance IP The entrance IP can be set through manual adding or fast distribution. 40

41 Manual adding of entrance IP: Select entrance, right click to pop up the menu and select to pop up dialogue box ; input the corresponding IP and click button to confirm. Fast distribution of entrance IP: To use fast distribution, the entrance IP in the group shall be continuous and regularly arranged on screen. Step 6 Wiring The wiring modes include automatic and manual wiring. Automatic wiring: Click below: button and it will display two wiring modes as shown in figure The entrance must be located at lower right corner or left corner before automatic wiring mode is used; click button to select the applicable wiring mode. 41

42 Manual wiring: The user may adopt manual wiring in cases where automatic wiring is not applicable by first selecting the placeholder of the entrance controller, clicking selecting other controller placeholders according to actual connection sequence. button and then The effects after operation is done are as follows: Step 7 Cancel Wiring The user may, if finding mistakes after wiring, cancel the wiring by right clicking the controller placeholder to be canceled to pop up the right click menu and selecting. To cancel the wiring of the entire group, the user may directly implement the aforementioned operation at the entrance. Step 8 Processing of Wiring Data The processing of wiring data is mainly used for splicing. Select correct cabinet type in, click button to calculate coordinate and click to send the coordinate; this splicing mode is used for automatic wiring. The splicing mode in manual wiring mode is to click on the right click menu on the controller placeholder to popup 42

43 coordinate window and manually fill out the correct coordinate and click button to send the coordinate. The image offset of the entire screen is set in ; after setting is done, click to confirm. Color Setting Color setting mainly includes: brightness adjustment, RGB monochrome and GAMMA setting. 1. Brightness adjustment: Used for adjusting brightness and color temperature and the user may click button to confirm the settings; for advanced setting of brightness, please click 43

44 button to pop up advanced setting as shown in figure below: Please fill out value in each option and click to confirm. 2. RGB monochrome: To separately set red, green and blue and then click button to confirm. 3. GAMMA setting: It includes GAMMA value and file setting. First select RGB tricolor or monochrome setting and click button to confirm. Function Debugging 44

45 Function debugging includes: shadow removal, display mode, calibration switch and switching of cascade mode. 1. Shadow removal: This function is not yet available. 2. Display mode: It is used for switching of video play and tooling play; select the option needed and click button to confirm. Calibration switch: Used for turning on/off calibration data; select the status needed and click button to confirm. Firmware Download Firmware download mainly includes: mainboard FPGA firmware download, mainboard MCU download, calibration data download and calibration data reading. 1. Mainboard FPGA firmware download: Click button, select the correct version of FPGA firmware program and click button to download, which takes a long time (please be patient); after download is done, click 45 button to load the current FPGA program. During this period, the cabinet may be restarted and after restart, click button to check if the version of the current FPGA firmware is correct.

46 2. Mainboard MCU download: Click button, select the correct version of MCU firmware program and click button. 3. Calibration data download: It is mainly used to download calibration data of the full screen cabinet; set delay time in the full screen parameter interface according to the quantity of cabinets ; the more cabinets there are, the longer the time will be; the default time is (300, 300) and the value shall be appropriately set according to the cabinet quantity. Select the calibration data of all cabinets (calibration data files shall be arranged according to the sequence of the cabinets), and click. 4. Read calibration data: Select the correct cabinet type in, select a save path for calibration data in and click button to confirm. Cabinet Monitoring 46

47 Cabinet monitoring includes: setting of monitoring option, alarm temperature/read time, start/stop and export image. 1. Setting of monitoring option: The monitoring option must be first selected in cabinet monitoring before further operation; at present, there is only one option, namely temperature; click button to select temperature control cabinet. 2. Alarm temperature and read time: The options to be set include early warning temperature, alarm temperate and time interval; click button to activate the settings. 3. Start/stop: Click button to start monitoring this cabinet and conduct loop operation to cabinet according to time interval; this button, once clicked, will turn into a stop button; click button to terminate monitoring. 4. Export image: This button is used for exporting the current monitoring image locally. This option is available only when monitoring is stopped. 47
