1 1993 Specifications CSJ SPECIAL PROVISION TO SPECIAL SPECIFICATION Computer Equipment For this project, Special Specification Item 5865, Computer Equipment, is hereby amended with respect to the clauses cited below, and no other clauses or requirements of this Item are waived or changed hereby. Article 1 Description is supplemented by the following: All materials furnished, assembled, fabricated or installed under this item shall be new and in strict accordance with the details shown on the plans and in the specifications. The complete system including all system cards and peripherals shall be FCC Class B device certified. System components shall be of the latest design meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements listed in this specification. The system shall include all hardware, software, documentation, and any other materials necessary to fully utilize components, even if not specifically noted in this specification. Any and all device conflicts shall be resolved to the satisfaction of the Engineer prior to acceptance for final payment. Peripheral components shall be of the latest design meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements listed in this specification. Peripherals shall include all hardware, software, documentation, and any other materials necessary to fully utilize the peripheral component, even if not specifically noted in this specification. Article 2.(1) Desktop Microcomputer is deleted and replaced by the following: 2.1. Desktop Microcomputer Tower type case, including At least two spare full height drive bays after all the components required by this specification have been installed. A reset switch and a disk activity indicator are preferred but not required Intel Pentium 4 processor or better (1.5 GHz minimum) MB minimum of DDR RAM

2 Two Spare PCI expansion slots At least two spare PCI expansion slots shall be available on the motherboard after all the components required by this specification are installed GB Hard Drive and controller (ATA-100 or better) CD-RW drive, with minimum speeds of 16x10x40 (write x rewrite x read), installed in the case inch floppy disk drive Keyboard with the following features: 104 standard keys (includes MS Windows defined keys) Either PS-2 or USB interface. Integrated touchpad pointing device Ergonomic design is preferred inch color SVGA monitor (0.26mm dot pitch) or, if specified in the plans, a 19 inch flat panel color SVGA display (1280x1000 lines) Display Adapter (video card) including the following features: 32 MB of RAM minimum. MPEG capability or other common video format. Hardware assisted video acceleration technology utilized by the display shall not hinder the optimal performance of the display adapter Sound Card with the following features: 16 bit wavetable samples at a minimum sampling rate of 44 Hz. Two speakers included (provide two-piece speakers if specified in the plans.) Built-in I/O ports At least two USB interfaces 10/100 Ethernet Network Interface At least one RS-232 serial port, capable of 19,500 baud rate. At least one parallel port 56 kbps fax/data modem compatible with Hayes AT command set Article 2.(2) Laptop Microcomputer is deleted and replaced by the following: 2.2. Laptop Microcomputer Color display including the following features: Display area measuring at least 14 inches diagonally Screen intensity control Active Matrix (TFT) technology Intel Pentium III processor (833 MHz minimum) or better

3 MB minimum of DDR RAM Internal Hard Drive, 30 GB minimum, and controller (ATA-100 or better) Integrated CD-RW drive, with minimum speeds of 16x10x24 (write x rewrite x read), installed in the case Integrated 3.5 inch floppy disk drive. The floppy drive may be swappable with the CD-RW drive. Alternatively, the floppy drive may be supplied on an integrated docking station At least two Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMIA) slots Integrated Keyboard with the following features: 81 standard keys, minimum Integrated touchpad pointing device Sound Capability with two speakers integrated into the case Rear mounted I/O ports as follows: VGA video port At least two USB ports At least one integrated RS-232 serial port or a PCMIA port replicator One parallel printer port 56 kbps fax/data modem compatible with Hayes AT command set and meeting the requirements of Special Specification, Dial-up Modem 10/100 Ethernet Network Interface The computer shall operate in ambient temperatures from 10ºC (50ºF) to 35ºC (95ºF) The computer shall be capable of operating from the following power sources: 120V, 60Hz AC. An AC line cord shall be included. An internal battery The battery shall be capable of operating the computer for a minimum of three hours under normal use. The battery shall be recharged while the computer is operating from the AC power source. The battery shall be removable. A spare battery and an external battery charger shall be included. Article 2.(3) Printer. Is deleted and replaced by the following: 2.3. Printer Laser technology printing Minimum print speed: 15ppm, black, on 8.5 x11 paper

4 Print resolution: 1200x1200 DPI The printer shall accommodate the following paper sizes: 8.5 x11, 8.5 x14, 11 x17 (letter, legal, & ledger). The printer shall accommodate the following envelope sizes: from 3.5 x 3.5 to 8.5 x Compatible with Microsoft Windows NT Operating System The printer shall automatically detect and process the latest Hewlett-Packard (HP) printer control language (PCL) and Adobe PostScript (PS) commands. Hewlett-Packard Graphic Language (HPGL) shall be provided At least 4 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM) shall be provided in the printer. The RAM may be reduced to 2 MB if the printer uses host based processing or graphic device interface (GDI) technology. Use of host based processing or GDI technology shall not prevent processing print commands from DOS based applications At least 30 fonts shall be resident in the printer. At least 25 fonts shall be scaleable The printer shall be provided with at least one 100 sheet minimum paper tray. One paper tray shall accommodate letter size paper. Manual feed capability shall be provided The printer shall include at least one USB port and at least one bi-directional parallel port. Capability for installing an Ethernet or token ring network adapter shall be provided on the printer. The general notes will describe the type of adapter card, if any, that shall be provided. One parallel printer cable shall be provided with this item. Article 2.(4) Internet Service Provider (ISP) is supplemented by the following: Dial-up access must consistently provide no less than 48 kbps connection speed. Connection may be provided by dial-up lines, DSL, or ISDN in the quantity needed to provide simultaneous connection of the Contractor and the Inspector. Article 3 Scope of Work, first paragraph, is deleted and replaced by the following: The Contractor will furnish the following software: MicroSoft Windows NT 4.0 or greater MicroSoft Office Suite MicroSoft Office97 or greater Winfax Pro, version 9.0 or greater Winzip 8.0 or greater Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or greater
