2 Ç visible Launch Kit Smart Shelf Ç Visible Assets, Inc. has been in IEEE wireless Smart Shelf production for over three years with about a dozen installations in hospitals, with strong reference hospital sites that have been in operation for over two years. Software, systems and shelves have been installed and work as far away as Singapore for Fortune 500 customers (e.g. Oracle), including live Web demos. The basic proposed Smart Shelf system for the Air Force is an adaption of that shelf system, consisting of a control panel on a shelf with a keypad for PIN entry and wireless identification. (as shown at top of page). The URLs on the next slide link to Live Demos of the system. These shelves may be adapted to any physical asset, including tools, manuals, and torque wrenches. Both presence detection Smart Pads and Smart Tools may be used to provide FOD prevention as well as total asset Visibility. All Smart Shelves may be optionally controlled via Dot-Tag systems locally or over the web. Additionally, all kits and shelves may be controlled via prap handhelds. 2

6 Option - Wireless ID Step 1 User ID 5 Seconds The Smart Shelf may be equipped at no cost with a wireless RuBee ID card with same codes as USAF ID card. That means Airman walks up to shelf and enters Military ID Pin number from ID Card, but leaves card in wallet. 6

7 Option - Wireless ID Step 2 Find Kit 5 Seconds The Smart Shelf finds Kit in predetermined sort order, flashes green LED on top panel, and flashes green LED on kit to be taken.

8 Option - Wireless ID Step 3 Remove Kit 5 Seconds Airman removes Smart Kit and takes responsibility for contents. System updates TAS system as if checked out manually. 8

9 Option - Wireless ID Step 4a Return Kit (All Items Present) 5 Seconds Airman returns Smart Kit, optionally may be required to enter Pin but not systems requirement. Places kit back on shelf, and contents are checked. If all items present and accounted for, green LEDs flash again.

10 Option - Wireless ID Step 4b Return Kit (Item Missing) 5 Seconds Airman returns Smart Kit, optionally may be required to enter Pin but not systems requirement. Places kit back on shelf, and contents are checked. If NOT all present and accounted for, red LEDs flash and person in distribution center is notified.

11 Mil Card Reader ID Step 1 7 Seconds The Smart shelf may be equipped at extra cost with a military card ID reader with same codes as USAF ID card. That means Airman walks up to shelf and inserts Military ID Pin number from ID Card, but leaves card in wallet.

12 Option - Lockable Door Step 1 7 Seconds The Smart Shelf may be equipped at extra cost with a door that unlocks when correct or authorized PIN is entered with either a RuBee ID card or a military card ID reader.

13 Systems check OK Systems Check Admin may enter in PIN and all kits checked with flashing LED green OK. 13

15 Systems check via prap OK Systems Check Admin may enter in PIN and all kits checked with flashing LED green OK.

16 Kit check via prap OK Kit Check Airman may use a prap to confirm that an individual Kit is OK. 16
