2 Installing Autodesk Revit 2019 on Windows The files for installing Autodesk software are available at: Before you begin The following instruction is supported by the TU Delft and has been tested to be working. However, we offer this manual to you as an extra service. In the event you have problems connecting, we advise you to contact your nearest Service Desk, Student IT Desk (SID) or Workstation services (WPS). The new download consists of 2 parts. Prerequisites You need an Autodesk account to sign up and you need to use your TU (student) address. During the installation Revit you need to choose the correct libraries to install. How to do this is explained in detail in the Revit 2019 installation section. It is very important to follow these steps carefully. Downloading Revit via Autodesk Education Community Step 1. Go to the Autodesk Education website at and sign in with your Autodesk Educational account. Step 2. In the login window, enter your Autodesk Educational credentials. If you don t have an Autodesk account you should sign up first. Your TU (student) address Step 3. If you see REVIT in the Featured List, click on it. Otherwise you can find it in the All Products list. Step 4. Select Revit 2019 from the dropdown list, choose Windows 64-bit and English. You will receive an with the serial number and product key or you can write it down now. 1

3 Step 5. DO NOT CLICK on INSTALL NOW! Instead, click on the white arrow icon next to it and choose DONWLOAD NOW. Step 6. Launch the Revit executable file that you downloaded. In the License Agreement window Select I Agree and Install. Step 7. This will install the Autodesk Download Manager, which can be used to download and install Autodesk products. Step 8. Click on DOWNLOAD NOW again to start the Revit download. Step 9. Select Open Autodesk Download Manager Step 10. The Download Manager will start downloading the required files, this can take some time. 2

4 Revit 2019 installation Caution! Depending on your regional setting some libraries may or may not be installed automatically. It is very important to install the correct libraries, otherwise some basic elements may not be available in the program. To make sure that you have the correct libraries installed, we are going to configure it manually in the next steps! Step 1. Start the Revit installation from the Autodesk Download Manager when it is finished downloading the required files. Step 2. After the files are extracted the installer will launch automatically. When the installer has initialized choose Install. By default the files will be saved to: C:\Autodesk\Autodesk_Revit_2019_English_Win_64bit_ dlm. You can delete these files after you have finished installing. BUTTON Step 3. In the License Agreement window select your Country or Region from the drop-down list. Then select I Accept and click Next. Step 4. Click the small arrow below Autodesk Revit Content Libraries 2019 to choose the libraries to install. Do you want to install (SOFTWARE NAME) 3

5 Step 5. Make sure the following content is selected: Under English US Metric (deselect US Imperial), scroll down to Other English and select Netherlands (Set Other English - Netherlands as Default Content.) Step 6. Click the small arrow to close the drop-down menu and return to the product list. Click Install. Step 7. The Installation Progress window appears. This may take a while. Step 8. Verify that all components have been installed successfully. Click Finish. Step 7. After this you might have to restart your computer. Continue on the next page to activate the Revit License. 4

6 Using Revit for the first time Step 1. The first time you start Revit you have to enter your serial number and product key. Step 2. Accept the privacy statement by selecting I Agree Select Enter a Serial Number Step 3. In the product license window select Activate Step 4. Fill in the serial number and product key you received from Autodesk and click Close. Step 5. Revit 2019 is now licensed. Click Finish. 5
