IDS Workgroup Edition is a client/server metric. You cannot buy a concurrent session (CS) without first buying a server. Key prerequisites Refer to the Technical information section of this document. Many more Informix customers are experiencing growth in data and of users and wish to upgrade to IDS. Now IBM provides trade-up part s in Passport Advantage for ease of ordering. Following is a brief description of Informix SE and Informix OnLine, as well as major benefits in upgrading to IDS. Informix SE Informix SE is a relational database management system (DBMS) targeted for small to medium business (SMB) customers and solution providers. SE s small footprint and zero-administration requirements make SE an ideal relational database management system (RDBMS) solution for departmental applications or for embedding in partner solutions. SE requires a minimum of 16 MB of RAM and 15 MB of disk space (DASD). SE supports structured data and is ideally suited for environments that support 50 users or less. Informix OnLine EE Informix OnLine EE is an easy-to-use, embeddable, relational database server for low-to-medium workloads. It features superior online transaction processing support with the assurance of data integrity. It provides rich multimedia data management capabilities, supporting the storage of a wide range of media such as documents, images, and audio. It supports a wide variety of application development tools, along with a large of other vendor tools, through support for the ODBC and JDBC industry standards for client connectivity. IDS Workgroup Edition IDS Workgroup Edition V9.4 is ideal for small-to-medium size businesses and departmental solutions that require the power of an enterprise database.
