Directly accessible from any desktop application, users click on a term and view its business definition in a pop-up window without loss of context or focus. The Pack enables an organization to quickly and easily leverage the full value of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne by allowing its data to be used in other applications as well as support delta processing to capture incremental changes. IBM Information Server Pack for Salesforce.com Information Server Pack for Salesforce.com enables a no-programming, metadata-based, fully configurable and high-performance data integration between salesforce.com and other enterprise data repositories via the IBM Information Server platform. Organizations can use the Pack for Salesforce.com to extract, load, cleanse, and synchronize their front office data hosted in salesforce.com applications with other business data stored within on-premise ERP back office applications, data warehouses, and analytic applications. Business users working in desktop applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and intranet Web sites can simply click on a term of interest and receive a pop-up window with its corresponding definition from the corporate business glossary. Benefit: Business users are more apt to leverage corporate information assets when they are easily accessible. By allowing users to access this information while maintaining their place in their current application, usage is encouraged. The direct access mechanism naturally links to the cognitive thought process of the business user so productivity is increased. Intelligent matching: When clicking a phrase, the exact syntax of that phrase may not be in the Business Glossary although a similar phrase or term may be. This feature suggests possible matches to the clicked phrase through an intelligent matching process. Benefit: Corporations often have similar terms for a single concept. Performing only exact matches often results in missed information. By using an intelligent search engine, best candidates can be returned in a single search, eliminating the need for the user to manually search multiple times or abandon the search altogether. 3 Search engine for business terms: The search functionality of IBM Information Server Business Glossary Anywhere allows the user to continue with additional searches from the same interface without having to revert to the previous application in progress and click on another term. Benefit: Business users have limited time so flexibility is key to gaining acceptance into their workflow process. By not restricting a particular access flow, users will adopt and utilize corporate data assets more readily. Detailed stewardship information: Business users can access stewardship information, including contact data and the assets for which each steward is responsible. Benefit: By knowing immediately who to contact for questions and information on particular business assets, business users are much more likely to provide input and feedback in support of data governance organizations and policies. Security enabled: Business users must log into the IBM Information Server Business Glossary Anywhere application to protect critical business assets. Security is enforced via the common security layer of the IBM Information Server platform. Benefit: Corporate business definitions often contain proprietary information only accessible to those users deemed appropriate to be provided with security access rights. As with the rest of the IBM Information Server platform, this same security layer is applied to support corporate security and governance policies. Accessibility by people with disabilities A U.S. Section 508 Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) can be requested at IPLA and Subscription and Support considerations IPLA licenses can be transferred from one machine to another within, but not limited to an enterprise. You may aggregate the capacity for all the processors the product is operated on to achieve a more economic price. This will result in a single Proof of Entitlement (PoE). It is your responsibility to manage the distribution of Value Units within the limits of the entitlement of the product license. IBM Information Server Pack for Salesforce.com IBM Information Server Pack for Salesforce.com runs as an application on IBM WebSphere DataStage Server V8.0.1, thus requiring the hardware requirements of the base product to be met or exceeded. IBM Information Server Business Glossary Anywhere The two components of IBM Information Server Business Glossary Anywhere are the Server component and the Client desktop application. The Server component is deployed on the IBM Information Server, while the Client desktop application is installed on multiple Windows client machines using the Microsoft ClickOnce deployment and update mechanism. The Server component of IBM Information Server Business Glossary Anywhere must be installed on the same machine as the IBM Information Server. Server component processing and memory requirements are minimal for up to 20 concurrent users. Beyond 20 concurrent users, memory requirements increase. The Server component has no hardware requirements beyond those of the prerequisite WebSphere Metadata Server V The Client desktop application component of IBM Information Server Business Glossary Anywhere is deployed using Microsoft ClickOnce, which enables the initial deployment and updating of the Business Glossary Anywhere client with minimal user interaction.
