ENTRIES = ++PTF (RO84332) XNET OFA SCALABILITY ENHANCEMENT DESCRIPTION: Xnet is enhanced to provide scalability for the OFA started task which provides DB2 DBA services for distributed requesters. Xnet's Execution Space (XES) feature is used to manage multiple instances of the OFA started task sharing a common Xnet Agent ID. Basic Xnet services are modified to support messaging activity and agent operations when two or more agent started tasks are sharing a common Agent ID. All Xnet users should install this enhancement in order to pick up additional corrective and preventive changes that are included. Xnet support for OFA scalability includes: * New OFAMAXUSER Xnet startup parameter to control the number of active user connections to a single OFA STC instance. * Member PXNPARM in CDBAPARM is updated to include a new XES address space GROUP named OFAGROUP that allows Xnet's XES component to start additional OFA STC instances in response to increased user activity. * Xnet agent management APIs and services are updated to require the agent's ASID, in addition to the Agent ID string, in order to uniquely identify a specific Agent instance. * Xnet monitoring of OFA STC instances that will stop idle OFA STC instances when the user demand declines. * Xnet startup changes to perform an initial XES GROUP check 5 seconds after startup completes. If the explicit allocation specified an incorrect smaller storage requirement, a storage overlay occurs. - An error in stop processing for a XES address space GROUP is corrected. During high-volume processing a loop may occur when the GROUP block storage is released during shutdown of the GROUP's last address SPACE. Completion of the stop GROUP processing did not account for possible reallocation and reuse of the GROUP block storage. - Xnet's XES support is updated to manage Agent call requests that may be "orphaned" when an Agent abruptly terminates due to Agent failure
