3 Introduction This document contains an End User version of the Release Notes for the Bromcom MIS Software for Version 5. The Release Notes contain details of the latest updates, fixes and new features that have been implemented in this release. An enhancement is either an improvement we have added or a new feature. Some of these are user requested, but most are enhancements we make to improve the software. This document contains the Release Notes for V Update 02 What is an Update? When an enhancement is requested or an issue is found, the details are sent to the Development Team. Once they have made the enhancement or fixed the issue an update is created. This update can contain one or many fixes, for one or many modules, it is then tested by the Testing team and released either to be included into the next Build, (if there is one imminent), or it is passed as an Update to be deployed by the Support Team who will contact you and arrange a mutually agreeable time to apply the Update. 5 Behaviour New option added to Events [IM052826] Behaviour > Maintenance > Events > New/Edit The option to add/edit a category has been added to the Event section. V Update 02 Release Notes 3

6 Dashboard New Ordering option added to Dashboard Widgets Dashboard The option to Order by Last Name, has been added to the Authorised Absences, Unauthorised Absences and Lates Today Widgets. V Update 02 Release Notes 4

7 MCAS (Admin) New Option added for Preferred and Legal Names [IM052632] MCAS (Admin) > Configuration Settings > General A new option for showing either the Preferred or Legal name of a student has been added, this is checked by default. Messages at the top of the pages, for instance, How is Studentname is doing? Will reflect the selected option. 9 Resolved Issues Administration IM Community > Student Details > Funding & Allowances Was not displaying the Early years Pupil Premium screen, when in School Characteristics. IM Community > Student Details > Support > File Print User was unable to see colours defined on support document template IM Community > Student Details > Behaviour When clicking on the info icon on a newly added detention it was displaying the previous record information IM IM Community > Contact Details External candidates were displaying when they should not have been. IM Community > Student Details > Delete Page Was unable to delete students with support timetable entries that have been covered IM Routines > CTF Export Routines > CTF Import Was importing and exporting the incorrect address details IM Community > Student Details > Behaviour Review required Events were having to be saved twice in order to be processed IM Community > Student Details > Find Student > Contacts When a use clicks this MCAS link the page takes them to the MCAS parent page by using the related parent login. In this situation the parent login statistics are not recorded and shown on the MCAS Admin page IM Maintenance > User Defined Flags The FSM6 group was listing more students than expected - due to students with DPP IM Routines > CTF Export There was an issue with the CTF export as it was trying to synchronise the CTF assessment data when using the new model which was causing slowness/performance issues IM Community > Staff Details > Find > Delete There was an error message when deleting staff V Update 02 Release Notes 7

10 Analysis IM Assessment > Student Grade Analysis A colour code transparent assigned to a subject was not allowing the user to to open the page V Update 02 Release Notes 8

11 Assessment IM Marksheet CSV Export Column results were displaying in date format after export IM IM Marksheet Save When there are two gradeset versions of which one was active and other was inactive. The results are present for the result date when the gradesets were active so the results were not updated even if the grades were changed. IM Maintenance > Associations Was not allowing the Key Stage or Year Group selections to be cleared IM Marksheets General There was an issue with performance when opening the page IM Marksheet Export to PDF Marksheet Export to Excel The Export colour to PDF and Excel was not working if an entry column had a hidden formula column IM Templates > Assessment Sheets List Print option was not working for multiple IM IM IM Marksheets General selection of Marksheets Formula colours were not displaying on the Marksheet IM Marksheets > Student Results The KS2 data was not displaying IM Marksheets > Formula Data Entry Column A protection symbol was being shown for results that had not been protected IM Marksheet Formula Review Column The padlock was displaying on the formula review column when the value of the parent column was changed IM IM IM Marksheet Formula Data Entry Column Formula Data entry column not exporting/saving colours V Update 02 Release Notes 9

12 Attendance IM Attendance > Reports > Lateness by Class/Course Report The Period selection for the page was not being retained when the report loaded IM Reports > Teacher Outstanding Register Duplicate classes were showing on the Teacher Outstanding Register Report IM Registers > Amend Student Attendance The # mark when entered manually is now editable. 13 Behaviour Reference(s) Affected Area(s) Issues Description IM Behaviour > Automated Events > Task Scheduler When creating an automated event with [ or /% the page was not giving a relevant message and was erroring IM Behaviour > Detention Entry If there was already a detention for today the system should give the detention for next available slot, it is now doing this. IM Behaviour > Detention Entry Creating Detention by Outcome was not working IM Maintenance > Outcomes The Admin Use Only option was not showing as ticked when editing an Outcome that was Admin Only IM Behaviour > Student Events Was unable to export as a PDF from Student Events because of a < character in behaviour comment IM Behaviour > Detention Entry > Manual Was not able to assign multiple student detentions to same staff IM Maintenance > Detention Scheduling Actions, Events and Outcomes was only displaying a single record IM Behaviour > Detention Review > Edit Detention This was giving an error when the user edited a detention that did not have a calendar assigned to it V Update 02 Release Notes 11

16 Dashboard IM Timetabled Groups Today Was not taking student exclusions into account IM Assessment Sheets After Assessment migration some inactive Marksheets were displaying IM IM Birthdays Staff Absence The Dashboard permissions for both the Birthday and Staff Absences widget have been updated IM Pupil Search Box The pupil search box was covering the Save option. This was only occurring when the screen resolution was either 1280*1024 or less. IM IM My Calendar Was not displaying detention related register or non-teaching codes IM Quick Access Panel Reporting option was not displaying in the panel IM Missing Registers The missing registers panel was not loading when the number of characters in the period name was greater than 10 IM Dashboard The taskbar menu was displaying over two lines on the dashboard IM Timetabled Groups Today The user timetable page was showing withdrawal groups that were either already covered on previous days or were to be covered on future days with the incorrect day information V Update 02 Release Notes 14

17 Diary IM Reports > Parents Evening Maintenance Page Appointments were overlapping when the options 'Include Travel time in scheduling and 'Travel time amount' were changed IM IM Diary > Room Booking Requests When a room was booked using a recurrence and it clashed with another event then when looking for this room in the individual view it was not showing that a room booking was there IM Diary > Parents Evenings >Manage Bookings Booked parents' evening appointment was not appearing for particular parent in MCAS IM Diary > School Diary > New Room Bookings Times were not displaying in order V Update 02 Release Notes 15

18 Exams IM IM Reports > Seating Plan Report If there were more than one component then it displayed in header but not in the student label IM IM Candidates > External Candidates Reports > Candidate Entries The Exam candidate s full name was not being updated IM Reports > Clash Control Report Was giving an error when run IM Entries > By Candidates and Exam Options > Was unable to enter teacher marks on entries Teacher Marks IM Reports > Exam Seating Plans The Exam seating plan report was displaying the seating on the page correctly IM Reports > Candidate Timetables Report When exporting the Candidate Timetables report to DMS - Multiple Documents, they appear with no Focus but a document per candidate was created successfully but could not be sent to students using the send document option IM Reports > Exam Seating Plan Report When exporting the seating plan report with 'Include Special Candidate Notes' or 'Include Additional Notes' ticked, they were displaying in alphabetical order by first name. IM Reports > Exam Entries Report If a student was in more than one selected class, it was only showing them for one class on the report. If all of the students in one class were showing for different classes, that class would not be displayed on the report IM Reports > Exam Seating Plan If a room had 10 Rows and 8 columns the fit to page option was not working. Also if a candidate full name consisted of capital letters it was displaying with only the first character as a capital letter. V Update 02 Release Notes 16

19 Framework IM User defined flags - Ever FSM6 Curriculum dynamic report groups - Ever FSM6 Student selector - filter by FSM6 EverFSM6Flag entity column in reporting module EverFSM6 did not include students who were marked as DPP pupil premium today IM Student Find Selector The student ordering when using the Find option for student preferences with legal name & preferred name options was displaying incorrectly IM Contact Selection Student Selection Staff Selection When the special pagination was enabled for the contact selector, by ticking last name for example; the contact selector stopped working and gave an error IM Profile The Set as Home Page and Go to Home Page options were not working correctly V Update 02 Release Notes 17

20 MCAS IM Requested Changes > Address Update Was giving an error when the User tried to change the address to the same address IM Parents Evening Was giving an error which was caused by an apostrophe in the name of a subject MCAS (Admin) IM Unpublish Document Was not able to unpublish a document, this was happening because the published document name and actual DMS file name were different V Update 02 Release Notes 18

21 Reporting IM Reporting: Student Account Balances & Reporting: Student Account Balances & Payments Payments entity only did not show any records for students with no payment information, even if they have taken meals that have a cost. This has been corrected and will return one record for these students and IM IM get the balance as of today. Behaviour Event Record Domain Was unable to group by classification name/description to get counts and there was no comma separated list for classification name. IM Student Attendance Domain When using the Student Attendance Domain the period name was sometimes showing the period display name and sometimes the system name IM General Reporting The SEN provision code was not displaying on reports IM General Reporting When a Boolean data item is used in report (like IsLeaver or ReviewRequired) the system is showing an error message on the report IM Matrix Reports Reporting headers were not displaying IM Reporting > Webmerge > Assessment Domain Option for displaying colours was not displayed IM General Reporting When running multiple reports in separate tabs when the reports are exported or refreshed it was still displaying data from the last run report IM Reporting Filters > Date Fields When Between was selected and the Start Date/End Date was set as empty with the Ask at Runtime option, the system was showing 01/01/0001 as the Start Date when report was Run IM General Reporting Intervals disappeared when the ShowTotals checkbox was ticked IM Mailmerge There was an error when trying to edit a Webmerge report with specific filters IM IM IM IM IM IM IM General Reporting Mailmerge Table Reports Matrix Reports Column Headers were mismatched to the data Section Start and Section End were showing as merge fields and causing webmerge errors Page Break texts were overlapping in the reports IM Mailmerge Preview was showing ErrorOccured.trdx when new webmerge report was created for students IM IM General Reporting Moving data items in the Detail Listbox is not updating Preview correctly. This was happening only when the report was selected with FirstName and LastName from Student and Contact IM General Reporting The columns and SUM expressions were not evaluated properly on the contact priority data item. The contact priority is an integer data item and the customer set up SUM for the grouping, for some of the records there was no contact V Update 02 Release Notes 19

22 priority and system was treating these as a NULL and giving an error IM General Reporting The Hide Footer/Hide Header option was not saving for some edited reports IM Reporting > Edit Report Page The Delete button was hidden behind the report preview on the report edit page IM Exam Candidate Domain Season filter was not displaying IM General Reporting When a valid school logo did not exist for a report, it gave an error on the report IM Adhoc Report When the Between filter was used the end date was not taken into account IM General Reporting Intervals were disappearing when items were ordered in the list box IM General Reporting Reporting module was slow to respond when working in the Assessment domain IM IM IM IM IM IM IM IM IM IM IM IM General Reporting Reporting module was slow to respond when Editing a report and adding columns to a report IM General Reporting You were unable to change report headings when editing a report.
