INTERACTIVE TOURISM INFORMATION ON INDONESIA SCRATCH Criteria B Developing Ideas DESIGN SPECIFICATION As mentioned in the design brief, my creation will be called JTI, which stands for Journey to Indonesia. This creation will demonstrate information on Indonesia that is useful for the tourists when going to Indonesia. These factual information include the following; basic information on Indonesia (currency, continent, flag, etc.), more detailed information (culture, tradition, language, clothes, etc.), the map of Indonesia with its cities, famous landmarks/top sights in Indonesia, famous hotels in Indonesia, and more information that could be fun facts or anything that will educate the audience. Not only will my creation provide information on Indonesia but also information on anything effective for their journey like the language of Indonesia (bahasa Indonesia) and what to bring to the country. This creation will also include entertaining quizzes that will help the tourist memorization skills. These quizzes will be included as they are a source of entertainment which is another target for the products purpose. Everything that will be included in the product will be separated into sections and is clear to understand the difference between each information. Everything will be discussed into detail in the following text. The start of the scratch program is a little animation video introducing Indonesia. This introduction will consist of the basics of Indonesia which are information such as the capital city, currency, president. It will also include the title and an Indonesian pattern background. There will be a character, either an animal famous in Indonesia or a Indonesian presenter wearing traditional clothes, which will present the information by talking or with a speech bubble talking. When the animation of the introduction of Indonesia is completed, it will start the animation on how to use the scratch product. It will mention that you need to press specific buttons where on the button it will have a text that says what you can learn about Indonesia. These categories include; top sights & top hotels, culture, language, map, essentials to bring, and quiz. Each button will have different colours to differentiate between each other. When pressing one of the buttons, you will enter to a different animation about the category you pressed. The background, information, animations, images and movements presented will all depend on what it will be about. For example, for the culture of Indonesia, it will show an image of a famous food and the character will be presenting what the food is. In between transitions of moving the character, it won t be just bogging movements but with the character doing something creative like spinning, twirling, zooming out, etc. Although, some of the categories won t include an animation video but instead will make the customer need to move the mouse in order to gain information. For example; for the map category, the mouse would

need to be moved to go around Indonesia. When the mouse is on a city (either they just click the city or just move over the city) they will gain information on the city (what the name of the city is and maybe small information on the city) by the pointer by text. The whole time when looking and using this scratch product, there will be Indonesian music (gamelan music) to give the Indonesian vibe to the customer as well as bring entertainment purposes and let the customer understand what Indonesian music is overall like. Front page (Beginning screen): Title, background that has an aspect to do with Indonesia, begin button and name of the program. Must have bright colours and variety of shapes, not just regular rectangles. Introduction: Introduce the basic information of Indonesia, sprite which is related to Indonesia, should be included. Information: flag, capital, continent, location, president, currency. Background should have the essence of Indonesia like a famous pattern or the environment. In the end of the introduction, there should be a small clip on how to use the program. DURATION: one minute. Category page: Should have the six categories: Recommendations, culture, language, essentials, map and quiz. Shapes should separate them and all are different colours to be able to differentiate with another. Doesn t need to have an Indonesian aspect to it, just needs to be clear and bright. Must have a button to go back to front page. Map: Should include the map of Indonesia with CLEAR separation of the cities by colour. Customer will find out the city by interacting with the program, not just given in direct. Title should be included and instructions on how to know where cities are. Should highlight the capital city in a way. Should have a button to go back. Language: Organized in a clear manner, allowing the customer to understand easily where everything is. Shouldn t be spread everywhere in a couple of scenes, should just stick to one scene. The customer should be able to understand how to pronounce the different words in Indonesian, meaning this needs to be all in different colours. This is interactive, only according to the audio area. Should include some images related to the words/phrases being learnt and they should be able to move. Instructions should be included to make things clear for the customer. Includes clear title, clear text and variety of colours. Must have a button to go back to category page. Should have a button to go back. Recommendations: Has the two categories; top sights and top hotels. There will be three top sights shown as well as three hotels. The description for each top sight/hotel will be described by a sprite (human preferably) who will be talking with audio to the customer, making them understand by listening and is a way of interacting with the audience. Images are very colourful and clear, letting the customer get a hint to the area. Format should be unique and sprite

should have movement like walking. Title should be included. Should have a button to go back. DURATION: one minute thirty seconds. Quiz: Background should be simple, letting the customer understand the question better. Preferably, the background should be one solid image and should include a sprite who would communicate to the customer and looks like it s asking the customer the questions. This is one way of the program to be interactive to the customer. However, the sprite should not have audio but have speech bubbles. There should be an answer box included where the customer types their answer. This box is white and clear. In the beginning, it will include instructions on how to use the answer box. The title is big and clear, as well as the questions, with clear font and colour. FRONT PAGE - Which one I chose: second one Justification: Second one has more animation and movement to it, allowing the customer to be more intimidated to it. The format is also more creative than the other one as it also includes variety of shapes and image rather than plain rectangles and squares. There will be bright and many colours as the images chosen have colours as such. There are different unique fonts and include the main basic features of the the front page.

CATEGORY PAGE - Which one I chose: Second Design Justification The second one includes more sizes of the circles, adding contrast and dimension to the design and making it all look interesting. The shapes are all different colours, allowing you to differentiate each one, as well as attract the audience. It has the back button to go back to the front page and has the other basic needs for the category page. The text, especially the title is very different and unique to normal titles as it has shape to itself as well has different wordings to the other category page design titles. INTRODUCTION - Which one I chose: First design Justification: I chose this because the sprite looks like it s really interacting with the audience, which is the main goal. The background is more unique than the ordinary background for the other two designs since the sprite is actually standing at a real place and gives me any chance to make the images and sprite move with all the space and location. The speech bubbles are very attractive as they feel very modern. This also looks like there would be a lot of colour to it, making it look very attractive.

MAP - Which one I chose: Third design Justification: I like the idea of the map spreading to the title, making the whole page very geography like. The font of the title is also one of my favourites as it s 3D and very basic, but admirable. There is a very cute statement next to it, making the customer feel like this program is very friendly and allows you a lot of freedom. The map is full of variety of luscious colours, making the customer be attracted to it. There are also insturctions provided on the corner of the page by a bubble, which is helpful and matches the theme. The rest of the features is also similar to one I exected it to be.

LANGUAGE - Which one I chose: The first design Justification It s all in one scene and includes moving animations that describes the words and phrases being learnt. This is colour coordinated, meaning that the table is very colourful and even including the images. There are instructions provided on the corner and allows you to hear the audio of the pronounciation of each word, helping the customer. This is a great example of direct and interactive information and is very creative and attracts the eyes. ESSENTIALS Which one I chose: The first design Justification I think this is a very creative way to present the information. It s essentials to bring to Indonesia presented in a suitcase. It looks very professional and everything in the suitcase is very colourful. On the top of the suitcase is the instructions which makes it clear for the customers to understand what to do. It s colour coordinated, which is great as there will be many colours. Other than that, it has the other aspects that are needed in the essentials page.

RECOMMENDATIONS Which one I chose: The second design Justification It might not be interactive, but it d very creative and gives the customer a break on needing to interact. Instead, the sprite interacts with the audience. The sprite brings the customer around the literal areas as if they were there, which I think is amazing as they really get the atmosphere of being there as well as give them hints on how their travel experience would be. The sprite also talks with audio, making it feel like the customer is really there with the sprite, exploring many sights and hotels. QUIZ -

Which one I chose: first design Justification: As it s very simple and has some sort of interaction with the audience. The environment really shows how Indonesia would be like and it really connects back to the introduction, showing that the introduction and quiz are like the starters and endings of using the program. There would be a lot of nature colour and it would be bright and ecstatic, making customers want to complete the quiz. Also, when it s a person asking the questions, it makes the customer feel more comfortable answering the question and not tense when doing so.
