2 About Who I am. In my professional life, I m a web designer, content architect, front-end developer, problem solver and a process improver. In my personal life, I m a proud parent, digital photographer, minor freelancer, home re-modeler, and a student always looking to learn. How I started. I started my web design adventure at AT&T when I designed the intranet site for my organization. In 2006, I received an opportunity to redesign the Maxine site for Hallmark. My role as a web designer opened up opportunities to work on Hallmark Magazine, Shoebox Blog, Hallmark.com, hoops&yoyo and related character sites. What I m passionate about. Content and design! Content is the main driver of any web design and brings out the best in the design. Design allows us to be expressive and inspirational to others through multiple channels and types. 2

4 Hallmark Ideas & Inspiration The site redesign for H&C (Ideas & Inspiration) was a step towards structured content to be utilized within a responsive design. I worked closely with editorial and content teams to create the content strategy map. Once the strategy was completed, I worked with the UX/UI and front-end teams to bring the content to life within new reusable templates and components for the new content authors to be trained on. 4

5 Hallmark.com The Site Mobile Optimization Project design brought a new responsive design to mobile device users. I lead the design and development strategies and content architecture for the integration and management within the CMS while working closely with our UX/UI partners, in an Agile process, in order to solve for any blockers and provided any immediate resolutions in order to deliver and execute towards the new responsive user experience. The Site Redesign Project for Hallmark.com was a great step towards reusable designs and content. I lead the design and development of layouts, templates and components to be reused across the site as well as the content architecture. I worked closely with our UX/UI partners to solve for business needs and provided any immediate resolutions in order to deliver and execute towards the new user experience. Site Mobile Optimization Project The Flexible Front-end Redesign project was the first step into structured content and allowing presentation layers to be manipulated by front-end web designers. I lead in the content strategy and architecture and worked closely with designers to influence design decisions to accommodate reusable modules of presentation, code and content. 6 Craigslist Flyer The Craigslist Flyer was a design solution created to stand out against standard Craigslist AD s. This is a table-based design along with banner images depicting downtown living in Kansas City. All photography and graphics were taken and created by me. 6

7 Winos on Tour Winos on Tour was a site created for a group of wine lovers, who traveled together to different wineries across various states, and wanted a digital space to communicate in. The design was inspired by a weekend adventure I was invited to. It allowed me to get to know the group and find their true passion for wine, their desire for elegant surroundings and the thrills and spills that come after too much fun. 7

8 Grunge Photography Grunge Photography was a concept design that never made it to development. The design was inspired by the digital photography I was capturing with my iphone along with the photo manipulation achieved within Photoshop and iphone apps. All photography was taken and created by me. 8

9 Maxine This is the second Maxine redesign I worked on, with the Maxine designers, which replaced the previous flash experience site. I collaborated and guided designers while providing best practices in order to deliver an exceptional consumer experience. 9

10 hoops&yoyo hoops&yoyo was a site I lead in the design and development. I worked closely with the character s creators to achieve the desired look and feel of the site. The site has gone through several enhancements and optimizations in order to enhance the consumer experience. 10

11 Shoebox Blog The Shoebox Blog was a site designed and created to provide the Shoebox creative team with the ability to be expressive in a digital space. I lead the design and development and had the privilege to team up with some of the funniest characters and design with some of the most talented illustrators and animation artist at Hallmark. 11

12 Hallmark Magazine Hallmark Magazine was my pride and joy at Hallmark. I worked closely with content creators and designers and was responsible for bringing all designs to life in the digital space including on-going creation of production art, video editing, flash animation, and new development and integration of technologies like polls, comments, and the Take 5 enewsletter. 12

14 Presentation: Mobile Optimization Benchmarking and tool discovery occurred before the Hallmark.com Site Mobile Optimization project began. During discovery, it was found that some of the 3rd party tools/companies would limit Hallmark from achieving the desired design and user experience that would reflect the brand. I put together a presentation plan to show a roadmap for Hallmark.com that would allow us to utilize our in-house talent and have a single source of code. 14

15 Photo Restoration before after This was a photo restoration challenge I took part in. The challenge was to take a highly damaged photo and restore it. 15
